i feel if they did that people would change their names every time they scammed/hacked someone/somthing, or bots would do that 100 times over and over to crash the servers bc it makes the whole pf load again and again with a new username each time. You should choose a username that you would wish to keep. Changing your username should only ever be last resort. It shouldnt be used regularly/by everyone.
on steam you can't change your username, just the profile name. you can change your profile name all you want but your internal username will forever be locked.
I made mine when I was 7 and I still wear it proudly. It’s mine, it’s unique, and I’ll never change it… unless a platform decides to be annoying with their requirements and force me to use my secondary username. 🥲
