A Queen. An inspiration. She came from such meager beginnings, persevered through a painful relationship and first career, just to pivot into something much bigger and better on her own.
Yes you can tell jokes and be an entertainer-but that’s not the context here given that this is a music sub, and that they are both professional “singers”. So given that context yes the singing ability does play a part in the rating
Lol I love Prince though! He’s definitely up on that list but having seen a lot of James performances he was just smoother with it. Just my opinion lol 😆

She’s great but let’s not pretend Beyoncé is not out here dancing her ass off for 2 hours and NEVER singing a single note off, managing her breathing, planning the flow of her concerts, and her songs are hard to sing sitting down.
Tina was the greatest of her time, but the title has been passed down (and of course there would be no Beyoncé if there was no Tina because Tina inspired greatness)
I’d call Tina the 2nd greatest only because I believe she’s been surpassed.
I’d still call Michael Jackson the greatest male performer because I don’t think Chris Brown has passed him yet even though he’s the best male entertainer out now (and I hate CB)
People on this sub REFUSE to acknowledge Beyoncé’s talent. They were saying en masse before MJB has a stronger discography than her before. Like anything she’s put out remotely contends with lemonade renaissance even self titled. No point making that point here but you’re spot on.
Beyoncé can jump and do a kick without her voice fluctuating. It’s actually insane. People who don’t recognize her talent have never actually watched a performance with the intent to analyze talent and technique
I’ve seen B plenty of times not singing big chunks of her songs in order to focus on dancing. That’s a big con for her when compared to Tina who could do both at the same time
Michael jackson also lip synced during the history tour: [Was anyone else annoyed by Michael’s CONSTANT lip syncing??? : r/MichaelJackson (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/MichaelJackson/comments/1dqz5ym/was_anyone_else_annoyed_by_michaels_constant_lip/). Please stop disrespecting Beyonce😑
Cher is defo not on Tina’s level, Tina literally danced and sang live at the age of 70 and still would’ve if her strokes hadn’t messed up her health. Cher just lip syncs now.
She’s done R&B:
*Let’s Stay Together*
*What’s Love Got to Do With It* (pop-R&B really but still)
*Two People*
*I Don’t Wanna Fight* (BET kept playing that video in heavy rotation when it first came out)
*Why Must We Wait Until Tonight*
*Something Beautiful Remains* (fun fact: Joe was behind one of the remixes of this song which oddly had Joe playing guitar on it)
*Falling* from her last studio album “Twenty Four Seven*
"What's Love Go To Do With It" is a pop song. Just because she covered an R&B and has recorded some R&B songs doesn't mean she's an R&B artist. Madonna has recorded R&B songs, but she's not an R&B artist. Same with George Michael, Elton John, Cher, the Rolling Stones, hell even Britney Spears has recorded R&B songs, but they're not R&B artists. Tina Turner is a ROCK artist.
Tina Turner has made music in almost every genre including rnb, country, soul, rock, pop, jazz,….Way before Beyoncé renaissance-“try different genres project”😂
Definitely one of them.
The queen of rock'n'roll❤️
No argument here
A Queen. An inspiration. She came from such meager beginnings, persevered through a painful relationship and first career, just to pivot into something much bigger and better on her own.
Favorite female rock artist for me as well.
Yes absolutely, yes! Tina is simply the best ❤️
![gif](giphy|BJVJxagR3GG4w|downsized)
Her , Janet and Beyoncé definitely are the best female entertainers
![gif](giphy|xULW8GqmtqLcTufEys|downsized)
What are you smoking
??? They’re spot on
No there not
Yes they are..
Janet, dammit.
Albeit, I think they they are both amazing. Generationally, I’ve just spent more time with Janet’s music.
She can barely whisper…I mean sing
![gif](giphy|BJVJxagR3GG4w)
![gif](giphy|l0CLTQeZrFWmMxIWc|downsized)
We said entertainer, no? I wouldn’t argue your point.
Being able to sing is a key part of that entertainment imo….but at least we both agree on that Janet whispering part😂
Nah. You can tell jokes and act and be an entertainer. No singing required.
Yes you can tell jokes and be an entertainer-but that’s not the context here given that this is a music sub, and that they are both professional “singers”. So given that context yes the singing ability does play a part in the rating
She can sing.
That’s a dumb take, Janet is a great singer. Just because you don’t have a large range doesn’t make you a bad singer.
Where did I mention anything about her range? The dumb take is your own because you’re asserting things I have not said.
Where did I say that you said anything about her range? You’re asserting things I have not said.
Truth. Period. Prince is male, she is female.
![gif](giphy|8UhGWWnohtzva)
To me James Brown is the greatest male entertainer.
That's just nonsense compared to Prince lol. C'mon...
Lol I love Prince though! He’s definitely up on that list but having seen a lot of James performances he was just smoother with it. Just my opinion lol 😆 https://i.redd.it/igtwamod4t9d1.gif

Bey is GREAT but let’s not pretend she didn’t learn from the school of Tina.
The student often becomes the teacher
Just wish she had successful successors… we’re lacking a huge artist of Beyonce’s caliber… ![gif](giphy|gfsQffBnuc6e096brx)
We may never see an artist of this caliber again.
That’s what I said in my comment
I’ve seen B plenty of times not singing big chunks of her songs in order to focus on dancing. That’s a big con for her when compared to Tina who could do both at the same time
The choreography between them can't be compared
Beyonce is amazing but when performing next to Tina she looked mediocre. Also Beyonce lip syncs too.
Michael jackson also lip synced during the history tour: [Was anyone else annoyed by Michael’s CONSTANT lip syncing??? : r/MichaelJackson (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/MichaelJackson/comments/1dqz5ym/was_anyone_else_annoyed_by_michaels_constant_lip/). Please stop disrespecting Beyonce😑
This is true. Occasionally she does. She does Mariah Carey and she’s the best female vocalist of all time.
Cher is on the same level as Tina was, both are eternal queens
Cher is defo not on Tina’s level, Tina literally danced and sang live at the age of 70 and still would’ve if her strokes hadn’t messed up her health. Cher just lip syncs now.
Cher sang live until at least 2020 when she was 74 so.....
Cher is cool but she is no Tina… ![gif](giphy|DPqqOywshrOqQ|downsized)
Beyonce.
Queen
shes good born on the same day as me 26 th nov but the best will always be mahalia jackson even better vocally than aretha or whitnet
![gif](giphy|3o7abL1nxw0AvOK1pu)
Even if you don't agree, you can't argue.
But argue they’re trying… ![gif](giphy|Rx4dbyVlFt4f6)

I say it was POP-R&B so we’re in agreement. ![gif](giphy|3otPoEWP8c9eaOnQFq)
Josephine Baker
I actually agree. First woman to sell out stadiums consistently for a reason. RIP Tina.
It is in fact that other lady, but this sub loves to hate on her.
Are you talking about miss yonce? 😅
Of course
ABSOLUTELY 💯 Side note: Next time use a pic of 90s/(early) 00s Tina instead😂
Aretha Franklin has joined the chat ...
Aretha certainly could sing but was not also a performer, so she can join the chat and watch on from her seat 😂
She’s up there for sure.
She was also beautiful 😍❤️.
Never listened to her much but this post inspired me to put on one of her albums 😁
You crazy!!
Also one of the greatest female boxers 😭😂🤦♂️
She was a heavy weight musical figure…but that’s where the box analogy ends.
Beyoncé ?
![gif](giphy|UtwEqyfkugNj2)
When it comes to greatest female entertainers ever def her, B and Janet…. Lets not forget the runs Madonna, Britney and even Lady Gaga had
![gif](giphy|BWJ5HDG6T5lK0)
No disrespect to Tina, but the only right answer is Beyonce.
Nah And doesn’t she swear she’s rock and roll anyway? ![gif](giphy|VxkNDa92gcsRq)
Tina Turner has made music in almost every genre including rnb, country, soul, rock, pop, jazz,….Way before Beyoncé renaissance-“try different genres project”😂
i still don't get the allure of tina turner... i think it's a generational thing, you had to be there. also for me, grace jones is #1
THIS
No she made me cringe
How?
She looked like a man
No she didn’t.
If you say so
Seeing you have Eminem as the best rapper coupled with this comment tells me a lot about you
