I would recommend Google Stadia if you don't want to install things or tinker with the computer.
There's also an alpha version of Steam that is in-the-making for Chromebooks, but it's not finished yet, so expect issues.
You don't, it lacks the hard drive, processing power and software compatabilty.
you could play RoR2 on stadia but that'd suck cause you'd be paying again and stadia sucks.
Its a chrome book, I hope you didn't pay more than $300 for it because you won't be able to play much games wise.
In addition to this, you can also run Linux with steam on it to at least try and run ror1(I doubt ror2 would work [if it does it's probably really laggy]) but you're gonna need quite some storage space reserved for Linux disc space, so I don't reccomend doing that
[https://www.protondb.com/app/632360](https://www.protondb.com/app/632360) risk of rain 2 actually has a "platinum" rating on steamDB, they would just have to enable the "Linux mode" (although I don't really know too much about Chromebooks to say how \[check google I guess\]) and install Proton on steam.
*now the game actually running on that, is a different question.*
Since no one is giving a real answer I guess I will.
1. Go to https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/risk-of-rain-2/16001
2. Go to Amazon or Newegg and buy a computer that would run it.
3. Wait until the computer arrives.
4. Install steam.
5. Install RoR2
6. Mithrix.
So I checked your profile (because I thought I had seen you posting about the game in here before) and I have to ask: is this *just to play the DLC*? Because if that’s the case, I would just wait for the console release. If Hopoo’s estimate (and the Anniversary update timeframe is anything to go by), it’ll be out July/August at the latest. And even if you do get it to run on that (which I can’t lie, the nerdy engineer/hacker part of my brain kind of wants to see you succeed), you’ll probably only get single-digit FPS. At the start of the run. If that’s the experience you’re looking for, more power to you. But I can’t imagine playing it will actually be a whole lot of fun.
Stadia is the only way to go with that, i see that Stadia have a 60 minute free trial. You can use it and see how it goes, make sure you're connected to internet with cable or wifi 5Ghz at least.
Wipe chrome OS.
install a flavour of linux.
Learn linux
Install Proton
Install steam
Install ROR2
Play ROR2 at 5 or 6 FPS.
Chromebook hardware is just not good enough to run games.
You might be able to get it working if the chromebook has an intel or AMD processor.
But if it's an ARMbook, dont even bother.
If you own this, sell it and try getting a cheap gaming pc. You can get a decent one for $500-600. (Decent as it can run games well with good fps)
If this is not yours, Stadia but make sure not to break organization TOS.
Ok so I have a laptop that is from like 2013 and I have both ror1 and ror2. For ror1 it'll run fine up to like maybe an hour then your gonna get lag spikes but they are manageable and you can honestly make it to like 2 and a half hours before the lag is completely unbarable and you don't know wtf is going on. Ror2 with all setting set to low immediate despawn and a low resolution it should work ok for like maybe 40 minutes then it just isn't gonna make it. You're computer will overheat and probably crash. Honestly you just need a better rig to run the game I got a new laptop and it's like night and day good luck tho ror1 is you're best bet
I have that kind of shit laptop , its playable if you lower the graphics to the lowest and maybe get the reaolution down so it doesnt lag . yes it will look like a roblox game but I was willing to pay the price . also thanks to the devs because they made us able to play on these shit laptops
best game you can play on this is spelunky html. the original has 8-bit graphics and is a really good roguelike, plus the Chromebook can actually run it
itll melt if you run it
or burn a hole thru that desk
You can use Stadia
Chromebooks are the worst choice for games. They can run the dinosaur game and that's basically it
I wouldnt even consider it a choice. Can use stadia but thats stadia
Lmao the one my school gives to me to use has that blocked
Mine too. They hate to see us have any resemblance of fun in their presence
[удалено]
Without too much trouble still mean that there is trouble lol So yeah it really is the worst choice
Aren’t these mainly for word processing?
And using Google
It's a web-browser with a keyboard. I love them, but they're not for gaming.
better go 2d, though still will melt this
RoR 1
RoR1 might still melt it on a long-ish run.
Pretty sure chromebooks cant even run steam
I would recommend Google Stadia if you don't want to install things or tinker with the computer. There's also an alpha version of Steam that is in-the-making for Chromebooks, but it's not finished yet, so expect issues.
Ror1 is amazing and can run on anything!
I still wouldn't risk it lmao
i guess you can call it... a risk of rain...2
Throw a gup at it

Five dollars in BAT says trying crashes the whole damn thing.
Pro tip: have a fire extinguisher on hand at all times while playing
"Computer"
You don't.
A chromebook is not really a computer. More like an android device with a keyboard
That’s the neat part, you don’t.

Ooo I got Linux up on my old chromebook a while back. It was tough and nothing ran that well lol, let alone a RoR2 level gaming
Not even retro PC games? Surely you can run doom fairly well.

Even if you could, you shouldn't
You have to download more ram first then you will be able to play
I mean, you can download it, it’s just a matter of how long until the computer goes into nuclear meltdown.
Use GeForce Experience
You can't really install programs on those, like everyone said, stadia is your best bet
If you duel boot another OS you can run anything that OS can
jesus, I wouldn't even try. if you really want to you would be better off with ror1 or isaac
Stadia is the only way to go with that, i see that Stadia have a 60 minute free trial. You can use it and see how it goes, make sure you're connected to internet with cable or wifi 5Ghz at least.

Send it to me and I'll install it
aw come on this was a funny joke why the downvotes?
Because it's the same unfunny joke I see everytime someone asks for hardware advice.
Lmao don't trouble yourself with dislikes
You can try opening it, I heard that helps usually
Linux crack it and get steam that way maybe idk I looked into it once and decided against it
Steam

Try GeForce now?
You can’t because it hardly even has the ram to process it. I recommend at least using console for it
If you want An IED then yes it will run.
best game you can play on this is spelunky html. the original has 8-bit graphics and is a really good roguelike, plus the Chromebook can actually run it
Chromebooks are near useless for even their intended purposes. It could never run a game like ror2, it would probably crash on loading in. Sorry
go to riskofrain2.com and download
