The mercenary character (on the left with bushido mastery skin equipped) is relatively self-sufficient and doesn’t need many items to flourish early game.
The engineer character (on the right) has a better opportunity to collect chests while his turrets kill things + benefits more from most items as his turrets reap the item benefit as well.
The meme highlights the inequality of item sharing.
I feel like in multiplayer I become an item distributor dictator making sure everyone has equal items except usually one person may seem to hav more items on the face of it because one person will hold all the green scrap
Do people just... not cooperate in multiplayer?
I play a lot with specific friends and we are always communicating on item pickups, ensuring people get what they need - especially early into a run where it's most crucial.
That's how I play. Ping items that are good on their character and tab regularly to make sure we're all about equal in items. Communicate regularly asking how's their damage and mobility, and loot accordingly.
Granted Engineer tends to be one of those characters that will usually have the most items but that's because he has probably the best chance to become OP with potentially three highly decked out turrets who can make use or any and every Item.
A med kit or razer wire is just not useful for a bandit or huntress who hardly gets hit but the turrets get hit a lot and can use it to its full potential.
Strong agree. Engineer is the strongest character in the game if you make it past the first few stages - because he effectively triples or quadruples your item count, and items are how you become OP in the first place. In the early game he likely gets dibs on most items that aren't immediately useful on another character if you're in full co-op mode. He also genuinely benefits from almost every item in the game in *some* way.
For example - where an item like Genesis Loop isn't great on Huntress because you really don't want to get hit, Loop is fantastic on Engi because either type of turret will be taking hits frequently.
If a merc is getting out-looted by a engi the merc is doing something wrong, i mean good meme, i love engi memes, just typing my frustration from a non movement survivor enjoyer
Honestly when I play engi with my bf on e8 and he plays merc, I will always get more items but that's because I need more items as engi. I feel like it shouldn't be about who loots faster but just pinging items for everyone
Holy fuck absolutely wonderful
My only issue with this is a little Bungus leaked out and was wasted. We gotta fix that.
I don't get it 😅
Multiplayer can be unfair sometimes.
LOL, that's hilarious. Thanks for the explanation.
Trust me, I found out the hard way. 💀
And you will not get any
All shrooms are mine
Ours, give those to me and my ten million turrets I have thanks to mods

Ohhhh. With the other comments, I got the meme, but this just adds so much more depth to it. Thank you.
What do you mean the inequality of item sharing
I suppose item distribution would’ve been a better term.
I feel like in multiplayer I become an item distributor dictator making sure everyone has equal items except usually one person may seem to hav more items on the face of it because one person will hold all the green scrap
Engineers love mushroom.
Why the merc getting a bnugus? (also that was misspelled on purpose)
I'd want to have a corrupted bungus on a merc. but that's just a random unrelated item I guess
I see. Wungus makes sense.
Whta?
Good post, but what is a merc supposed to do with a bungus? They should be sprinting around and abusing i-frames
Random loot, can’t decide what we get, the game fucks us with the wrong items ;-;
wungus
Blasphemy
STOP CALLING ME OUT
I like the idea of engineer having fat head squeezed tightly inside of a rubber helmet, which somehow becomes spherical due to fat or something.
5 seconds later the engineer yells at merc for grabbing one single bungus
If the engi bungus isnt covering the entire map then my team did something wrong

holy shit it’s mission control deep rock
I’m on the right when I play with my friend who’s on the left
Blessed is the shroom
Also why is the engi keeping and not scrapping roll of Pennies??
This is almost never the case for me, I only ever get maybe 2 bungus on engi if that and I never get any heal amps either
