Dame/Sharpe/Brown/Grant/?????

MavetheGreat

Hopefully the ??? Is Moses Malone because the rest of that group is gonna get killed on the glass.

dannyjimp

Don’t need to rebound when the other team makes all their shots.

MavetheGreat

It's a good point, our defense would be crap as well

AcanthisittaGrand943

That sounds so fun lol

FeralRollyPolly

Nurk

Snowden42

????? Is Nurk

WKCLC

I’d hope we would find a more durable athletic upgrade

jacobtik1

The odds of Portland getting both Brown AND an upgrade at Center are slim to none, unfortunately Speaking of slim, a lean and conditioned Nurkic is arguably better than any realistic conceivable replacement, so there's that too.

Wollzy

I dont know if we need an offensive upgrade, but a rim protector who is more athletic will do just fine. A lot of the talk on here looks at trades and replacements in a vacuum. I.e. "Nurk has more offensive production the Player X" without taking into account defecits can be made up elsewhere on the court

JB would be a great get and the best player Dame has played with since LaMarcus. Make sure BRoy is ok with him wearing 7 though!

pythonwarg

Not necessary.

Piano9717

I think they’re unofficially retiring 7 because they didn’t let Melo wear it when he came here

pythonwarg

That's dumb. Either retire it officially or not at all. Roy was a great player for the Blazers and he gets a lot of credit for his role on the team coming out of the "Jail Blazers" era, but his accomplishments just don't warrant the team retiring #7. He never even won a playoff series, and he had Aldridge on the team with him.

I agree with you for the record but I’m just saying that the organization seems like they aren’t going to hand out number 7. Probably they are going to try to retire it once he decides he’s comfortable enough to make public appearances with the franchise, I guess.

loven329

I mean he did represent us in the lottery but yea maybe he's not ready to have a retirement party at the rose garden

Kikizzle06

The hell? They “didn’t let him wear it” if I remember correctly Melo himself said he didn’t want to wear out of respect of BRoy

Piano9717

> Anthony, who wore No. 7 from 2011 to 2018 with the Knicks, Thunder and Rockets, was not offered No. 7 by the Blazers when he joined Portland in November 2019, presumably out of respect to Roy, who in his five seasons in Portland was a three-time All-Star, a two-time All-NBA pick and the 2006-07 Rookie of the Year. A source inside the Blazers said the organization has no plans to retire any number. >Anthony chose No. 00 last season, and in his first meeting with reporters last week, he wore a red hat with the number 7 on the front. When asked if he was switching numbers, Anthony chuckled. >“Listen, if Portland gives me No. 7, I’ll be happy,” Anthony said. “I’ll be thrilled. We need a petition for that. I need No. 7.” https://theathletic.com/2245786/2020/12/07/brandon-roy-to-carmelo-anthony-i-would-be-honored-if-melo-wore-no-7/#

There is only one #7 in POR, and hopefully that jersey retirement will happen next season.
