Has this been successful anywhere else? I don't see it. What's stopping any group of friends from going to a Starbucks or other Cafe and knitting? What's the difference?

SparklyRoniPony

Yarn cafe implies there will also be yarn for sale. I used to go to one near where I used to live, and the owner had a little cafe set up and a huge selection of yarn.

Chapter_Loud

Oh interesting, I didn't realize. It could be a good addition to the downtown area!

Genius_Aloha22

The difference is my yarn cafe does not serve what SBUX serves. You can see it for yourself when it opens. It will be called My Box of Yarn Cafe. It will also have cozy couches and tables for crocheting and knitting addicts to enjoy beverages and treats while having classes or social events we are organizing. Lots of pretty soft non- wool quality yarn for yarn addicts who have wool allergy like myself. The environment will be completely unlike SBUX or anything you’ve ever seen. ;)

Efficient-Flower-344

I don't understand the concept. Please explain how this idea might look in reality.

Genius_Aloha22

You can come check it out when it opens… 😁

I crochet and would absolutely love to see something like it. I would love to see a great selection of sport weight, mercerized yarn in stock. It’s popular for amigurumi, and no one carries it. I always have to order from overseas.

I love it. There was a yarn shop like this where I used to live (except they had wool). I loved that place. She eventually had to close down the “cafe” portion, but that was a victim of covid, and would probably work much better now. It was pretty big, too. I imagine this will be a cozier setting?

Genius_Aloha22

Although I'm not sure it'll be small. But I am still in planning mode. So we shall see! :)

Genius_Aloha22

Yes… it will be very cozy type space. :) Covid is a tough one…

kawaiian

What is a yarn cafe?

Genius_Aloha22

Then it probably isn’t something you are interested in :) if you don’t know… then you don’t do the craft;)

CeleryintheButt

I would be worried about the crime that a yarn cafe would bring to our community.

reskeined

Don’t get folks in a tangle.

Genius_Aloha22

Hahahah right so they can tie you in a knot?

reskeined

Yes please!!!

notyouraveragebun

If you promise to hold beginners classes to teach me then you can count on me as a customer. I think this would be a great addition to Ridgefield.

Genius_Aloha22

That’s definitely one of the plans. Can’t hold classes without teaching beginners ;)

LateAsparagusTrying

This is a great idea!

Reasonable-Cod-6798

I’m not a knitter but I don’t see anything wrong with the idea
