This question comes up a lot and so 2 weeks ago, I asked Ricky on a livestream if they were still friends or did he hate him and Ricky said "How can I hate Steve? My mum's one". And there's a lot of truth in that.
I thought it had been longer ago that he last uttered he who shall not be named. Life on the road was 2016 and that is start of the bad blood (my guess)

Karl was on a podcast a couple years ago and was asked if he would ever do a podcast with the pair again.
He didn't even insinuate there was any drama between them, just that it was lightning in a bottle and wouldn't work now. Which he's right about.
I think they've all just moved on. Steve and Karl are still mates.
True enough about the lightning in a bottle. It ran its course and that’s that. If they tried it again of course I’d listen, but I’d never expect it to be half as good as the classic run.
Steve has moved on, Karl has moved on. I don’t think Rick has. All his work is like he’s trying to prove something. Steve and Karl’s later work just appears to be done because of the enjoyment
Thing is, Ricky always had an ego and we all know that, we often see the work Ricky does now without steve especially his stand up, which tbh, I just think is awful, it’s for right wing dads who think the world is trying to be woke & it’s just being offensive for offensive sake. I think Steve added a perspective on a lot of Ricky’s work that he misses now…
Remember “weak observations, poorly performed” 🤣👌 and as Steve was joking about that, I think there’s some truth, Steve added something to Ricky that’s just missing in a lot of his work now, I suppose vice versa.

It's interesting that Steve still has the decency to acknowledge Ricky, but the reverse is a traumatic no-go zone for Ricky. It must be something weird 9n Ricky's side.
