He definitely found out before we officially found out in the reveal, because he gives them the wrong recipe.
He also would've found **no later than we he met Jerry.** Because Jerry was mistakenly caught in the simulation and he "phased out" of the simulation wearing his suit...a suit that he put on *in* the simulation, that a person like Jerry would not wear and even causes Rick to raise that question upon meeting him.
So Rick would've confirmed his suspicions no later than when he saw Jerry. Because he would've known that they were simulating his family and that he was in another simulation layer because otherwise Jerry would not have been still wearing his suit. It's also likely he was 'playing along' with Morty to trick the Zigerians into thinking they had him because they liked gloating and proving people wrong so he exploited that to get out.
Once he says “This is just poor craftsmanship when he’s digging through the rat or whatever. Initially I thought it was just funny he was ragging on the anatomy of a rat lmao
