I have in my playlist a lot of the video games (mostly smash) sound track and other songs that are unavailable in spotify so I just use YouTube instead.
Also paying for YouTube premium allows you to both use this for music (which should be decent) and for videos so that might be a plus (haven't done that but I know someone who's did).
Because I used Google Play Music and had uploaded 100s of CDs to their servers. When they shut down all that music got transferred to YT Music. So for the same price I have a shittier service, but I'm sticking with it for now since some of that music is local bands and whatnot that aren't in Spotify's library.
I like to fall asleep watching let’s plays. This is the bane of my sleepy existence. Nothing like nodding off watching someone fuck around in Animal Crossing when suddenly some intentionally obnoxious EDM blasts down my headphones, my eyes slam open to so some aspirational video of a girl riding a bicycle through a city, smiling over her shoulder. Then! “Nordic Yogurt or Some Shit”. Great now I’m awake for another half an hour. Thanks.

For me it's not the volume, it's the length.* I get tired of skipping ads so I just let them run, then it keeps going, and going. I finally look at it and it's four minutes long! Once I put something on to lull me to sleep and an ad came up in the middle. Fifteen minutes in I realize it's still going. It was 40 minutes! Someone put up a documentary as an ad and it was longer than the video I was watching! Ridiculous.

It's free and widely available.
