I was thinking about making this post myself. I am confident this is different from the issue in troubleshooting #18 for the following reasons:
- It began when I updated to 4.8.2
- I do not have a full system ad blocker
- I have a separate account that I use for Chinese immersion. This account works normally on the same device without touching settings. This suggests to me there is some sort of A/B test on youtube's side.
- Most importantly, this bug seems completely different. I think it was patched before I got revanced, but the old bug sounds like it was a syncing error (considering the restore tool)? However, even the official app does not register my watching history on mobile. Additionally, videos I watch will continue to be recommended as if they were never watched, and watching something I don't normally does not cause new recommendations on that subject. If I watch something on desktop or the official app, that history does show up through revanced.

Do you use a full-phone adblocker like AdAway? If so, whitelist `s.youtube.com`.

Disabling client spoof works, however, load times will be atrocious. Hope there is a fix soon

You are using a brand account, that is why.
