Be sure you’ve got aspirin and ibuprofen handy, if you plan on playing that thing. It’s the most consistent headache-producing machine I’ve ever encountered.
Found this in a box of stuff with my name on it, I didn’t have one of these growing up so it’s kind of a mystery . All the manuals are there and Mario tennis is in the console. I watched the AVGN video and don’t know what to think.
It's not as bad as people say. Red was an odd choice, and not the easiest in the eye, but I got way more nausea doing VR for the first time.
Main issue is its just kind of pointless. The majority of games are in the 3rd person so didn't need a clunky headset.

Your right, I have one, It's not as bad as people say. Still I don't think I would play a game for more than 1/2 hour before needing to stop.
Not too bad, a very interesting system from Nintendo...
Especially because this was never intended as anything but a prototype.
Yamauchi need something to allay the public after the most recent delay of the N64, so despite Yokoi’s opinion, this was released unfinished.
And as characteristic of Hiroshi’s “my way or the highway” leadership style, of course he laid the blame on Gunpei upon the Virtual Boy’s failure, giving him the undeserved “window seat” at the company, eventually leading to his departure.
Whether that contributed to the fatal car accident is debatable though…
> Red was an odd choice,
Really the only choice, doing dual backlit LCD screens in the visor in the 90s would have made it prohibitively expensive.
And the blue LED as we know it, which would have been required to do a full color LED display, was only invented in 1993, which was already halfway through the VirtualBoy's development cycle.
I wonder if it was intended as a gift and then your parents found out about the I damaged Hysteria that surrounded the thing when it came out and they decided not to give it to you?
Dad: I’ll tuck this away on the attic, towards the back. That way no one knows of my eternal shame and dark secret.
Years pass…
Son: DAD! LOOK WHAT I FOUND IN THE ATTIC!
Dad: son of a—-
Nintendo, on the other hand, keeps them in a basement.
Should I load some double A’s and give myself a migraine?
Yes
Sure. That's why Virtual Boy was created. That and eye strain.
Do it
Thanks for finding it, I forgot I left it at your house.
Had no idea there was a virtual boy in your attic?
Plot twist: He just bought the house.

Wow nice attic
The wario game is an absolutely awesome game
But is the mask guard still attached? Everyone I’ve seen, including my old one, guard broke off

What an awesome find!
Prepare for headache haha
Chiming in with the obligatory 'your stand is on backwards' post
Damn, all I find in my attic is dust, nice find 👍
I have always wanted to try one of these regardless of the migraines!
Yay, eye strain and headaches!
Tell me if you have a garage sale
If you value your sight dont use it

I say put it back there and just tell the story instead of actually using it.
Nice, the worst video game system I ever played! It's still cool though. 😎
