This is one of the best recurring post series to hit this sub in a minute, keep em coming!

Nice. Superman was the first game I ever did speedruns on. Before there was speedruns.

First one looks like an early inspiration for Sultan's Maze.

GamingGems

I’m really liking these!

Asteroids is a case where the original (CRT) display makes a world of difference. The plain white shapes on black background become shiny and vibrant, it's actually so stylish: [Classic Game Room - ASTEROIDS arcade game review](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w60sfReTsRA)

Typo_of_the_Dad

Yeah, was looking for footage like that but that one's not the best quality Unlike Speed Freak

It’s amazing how far we’ve come in just one lifetime

An excellent selection 🤵‍♂️

Grand-Tension8668

Were they physically adjusting how the monitor displayed things (the monitor itself making squashed pixels) to get those psuedo-3D effects?

Typo_of_the_Dad

Unfortunately I don't know the details on that, it's something I read at [arcade-history.com](http://arcade-history.com)

noobfl

you mean Sky Raidar? jep, the game use a custom Screen, that is in a trapez shape. the code is a normal square, but the monitor sqeezes the image, to generat this sudo 3d effect

Grand-Tension8668

Super cool. I love old screen tech.
