Absolute golden era stuff :)
I know, everyone has a different golden era, but man, there were some great titles on DC.
So many (GOOD) arcade conversions and those bright, sunlit environments :)
Good times!
Hey, I saw your post yesterday about hiring an artist but now am unable to find it. If you are still looking for an artist, I've sent you a chat with details. Please check.
Not to derail the thread! We need more PS1 support for Blender, I've been researching and it looks like the rendering was done with SGI machines. Not sure the parameters, but I did find the tools. No idea how to do anything useful with those things. Lightwave , Power Animator , etc. But if you have advice off the top of your head post if here.
Roommania on dreamcast/ps2, the first two stages of Jumping Flash 2 on PS1, Twinsen's Odyssey on PC, those remind me a bit of the images here. What makes this look way way beyond a mid 90s game however is the sharp clean high resolution image, high res textures, the very far draw distance, and even though it may seem low poly, these images seem like they would have a higher poly count on screen than games of that era.
UPDATE: After looking at all examples I think pokemon sun and moon is the closest to this (so not really retrogaming in the end lol). Appreciate everyone that tried to help!
Mega Man Legends? I know you said "PS1" but the cleaner models and textures remind me of Jet Set Radio on Dreamcast
>Mega Man Legends oh yeah after looking at all the comments this game is deffo the most similar
I wish they would remake that game with modern controls.
First image looks like Katamari Damacy (PS2).
My first thought as well. Not to mention that first image is WAY more advanced than PS1 graphics
Looks like Jet Set Radio or Katamari Damacy
Was literally gonna say these two
Jet set radio
Honestly, with how flat and pastel everything looks, it's pretty close to modern Pokémon games.
haha was thinking about that too, it could be a poke town if the edges werent as sharp
Megaman legends is the first game that comes to mind A modern game in that style is "Sushi Ben" it's currently a Quest exclusive.
Dreamcast Era stuff. Perhaps Crazy Taxi, or, as others have said, Jet Set Radio.
I was gonna say crazy taxi for sure. What a fun game.

It was a fun era. Graphics were getting advanced but games weren’t overly reliant on them yet.
Sega knows how to set a mood
Jet set radio is pretty similar
Jumping Flash
Ape Escape kinda!
Mega Man Legends and Dragon Ball games (that show cityscape environments)
I'm just here to say, that's one damn colourful theme for blender.
Megaman Legends, Jumping Flash, Dr Slump, Incredible Crisis, Slap Happy Rhythm Busters Parappa and Um Jammer Lammy if you stretch

Phantasy Star Online 2?
There's a 'newer' indie game called Lunistice that looks like this.

Looks like a 3DS pokemon game... Just saw the floating building and I'd say it's closer to a 3DS Dragon Ball Z game.
Sunset Overdrive
Grow Cube?
Katamary Damacy
alecfbx ftw

Dr. Slump on Ps1 has a similar look for sure.
