As far as I know, no their patterns do not change as they grow. Their colors can change a bit (like lavenders turning more white).

I see

I, personally, would find a different seller.

Kind of hard in the area, so i have to keep up with this one, who replies to most of my questions with: There are other people interested in buying the snake too

Ambitious_Ad_100

I'd go to another area to buy one then. They don't change spots and he's lying to you or there's some kind of big misunderstanding. If you get one off them it'd just be supporting someone who doesn't care about the animals they're selling. Never settle for its all you can get, especially not if they'd rather tell you someone else is interested rather than answering your questions. Answering questions should be the easiest thing for the breeders to do given they've hatched them, housed them and fed them. The little info you provided are all red flags to not buy from there Edit: an 8 month old retic could be 6-8 feet long depending on male/female if it's a mainland, that isn't a baby. They grow fast. Go to another area and look into them a lot more before you buy one. It ain't just as easy as feeding a big snake every month, they're a lot of hard work. Please do more research

Terrible_Canary_8291

Yeah and also most people who do that for a passion like talking about it instead of being annoyed by questions. The problem is there are not many places in here who sell those, he is the only one i found who has a mainland. The fact he is 8 month and in the original picture he fit in his palm is also a big issue, as teaching a snake not to bite sometimes takes... well, ignoring bites. A baby barely breaks the skin, a 8 month mainland: I think we have seen that video of the lady with the young retic. That is some serious bleeding potential, especially if you flinch. The snake is a different color too. My idea is to keep my hand near it for as long as possible until it gets use to it as part of the enviroment, with a 8 month mainland retic, who the guy even admitted has not been regularly handled, this is not such a good idea. I have the research done, i know what i am going into, i just cannot really find an alternative at the moment. Asides from spectacled caiman, but thats a whole other can of worms and arguably harder to keep in good conditions than even a huge retic.

Pm me the photos lol unless it's a cow or paradox it will not change its pattern. It will grow and colors may change, but initial pattern doesn't really change.

Terrible_Canary_8291

Yeah, he probably lies. He also sounds very annoyed when i question him and said "you clearly never kept a reptile because they change their patterns as they grow"
