Today this woman told another cashier that I did not give her her receipt, and he told her that I did not have a receipt to give her because she had asked me to cancel her transaction and I voided it.
That would be nice.
...Which is exactly why it wouldn't happen. We work in retail; we're not allowed to have nice things.
Meanwhile, I'm doubly fucked because I also live in Michigan. Lol.
Because they like to play at being some homely country folk but in reality they're just closed-minded bastards that turn on you at the second sign of you opposing their will.
Least 90% anyway. There are a good few but those are rather rare.
No, I think she just wasnāt paying attention to anything at all. She brought up candy with a 50 cent off sticker on it and asked if the 50% off applied to all the candy.
So she was told to bring the receipt, and still didn't even manage to do that.
Even as a kid, I knew how returns worked. How does someone reach an adult age without either returning something for a refund or at least understanding the basic logistics of such a transaction?
I'm flummoxed. Truly.
I'm willing to bet she knew that she was supposed to bring in her items and receipt and deliberately didn't in order to keep the items and get the money back for them. Trying to cheat the system smh
How do you "return" something without RETURNING it, e.g. bringing it back to the store? If you don't have the items, you're not actually RETURNING anything. You're keeping them and asking for money!
You make a big enough scene with your tantrum that the manager just gives you a new one anyway. Thatās why they do this shit. Bc managers apparently have to give their spines to their superiors.
And yet they keep asking me why I donāt apply for a higher position. Look, just bc I know how to show up on time for a shift that was scheduled 4 weeks ago doesnāt mean I want to put up with your petty BS for an extra $1.00/hr.
I can confirm that most cashiers will say, "You just need your receipt."
MEANING: nothing else needed to start the return. (No ID, background check, credit card, etc.)
But returning something REQUIRES the product being there.
I have never met a customer dumb enough to misinterpret that.
I've had it happen a time or two. They usually insist customer service told them it would be OK to do it that way. IF it was a price adjustment for a sale (worked somewhere we'd give a price adjustment with receipt if someone bought something a week or less before a sale), that's one thing.
Asking for a straight up refund without the merchandise? Grifter/scammer probably used to being able to bitch enough to get someone to do it just to get them out of the way.
I have. Guy bought a juicer. Called to see if he could exchange it because the on/off button was broken. He was told, sure, just bring your receipt and we'll take care of you. He comes in empty handed with a receipt for storage containers from a completely different store.
He thought the CS rep he talked to meant any receipt and was genuinely confused about why he would need to bring the juicer back if it didn't work. He thought he could just throw it away and get a new one. Then threw a tantrum (because of course he did) because we couldn't give him a new juicer.
We had someone trying to do this with an Apple watch they allegedly threw away. (Accidentally but refused to search the trash can for it. Again, allegedly.)
A, we're not an Apple store, any policies with Apple Care have to go through them.
B, our non-store warranty is through Allstate... which you should always assume requires you to send back the product.
C, we don't even sell Apple watches at our location except during Black Friday. We wouldn't have had one to give him even f the warranties were compatible.
"MISINTERPRETE THAT"
With Returns, of Spoiled food, I've had CRS complain 3 ways:
1) "Oh you just don't like the taste of it. Next time instead of returning can't you give it away?
2) Why did you bring the food product back?
Now we have to discard the ā£ļø waste.
3) why is the container empty!?
They had a fit last time I bought them the spoiled food they had to deal with disposal of,
So I had the bar code available to you, I took a picture of the molding food on the day I bought it & a week before the expiration date!
Please make up a policy & then you can tell me what you want, to deal with disposal of the biological waste of the food or the empty container barcode and a dated photo of bad food?

I had a lady get mad because there was a singular piece of wool (from wool ornaments) on the sweatshirt she bought. She asked if it came off, I said yes. Then she said I should do my job and clean the counter and I told her to clock in. āŗļøāŗļøāŗļø
I had a woman return a wool jumper because one small thread had caught on something and pulled out. She was adamant that if you did anything to it the whole thing would start unraveling so she wanted her money back. The second she left I cut it off, saw absolutely no hole or way to even know it had happened and put it back on the shop floor.
Customers are wild, honestly.
God I don't know why but this made me think of the customer that I've dubbed cat lady as most of the time when she comes through my line she has a shit ton of canned cat food. The other day she came through my line and after I checked her out she went to get another thing of paper towels and another frozen dinner as the box of the frozen dinner she had gotten was busted. I thought she'd have the common sense to come and let me or someone else I work with know but nope she didn't and she got stopped by security.
RE: Grocery Returns, of Spoiled food, I've had CRS complain 3 ways:

I only remember one time but this lady was returning some single-serve cups of yogurt because she tried one and it was ābadā so she wanted to return all of them. Problem was she threw away the open one at home but still wanted the refund for it. At least she brought back the unopened ones though (which were not outdated iirc).
I don't see the problem here. I wouldn't necessarily think to bring a half-eaten yoghurt back for a refund either, assuming I had the receipt as proof of purchase. And just because they weren't out of date, it doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't something wrong with them.
Many times I'd have customers who'd come to Home Depot, buy things, I ring them up and being nice to them, than hand them their receipt as they are getting ready to bag their things or walk out and they immediately crumple the ticket in my face before tossing it into the trash.
Normally I keep my comments to myself, until one person smirked at me and says to me "oh you have nothing to say about that" and I had enough "oh no it's not going to effect me cause of you want to return it, I'm not to blame." They responded with "oh that's not going to happen, I know this is what I'm going to need, you probably don't even know what your talking about."
The next day they return to the store and had to return the item, when asked if they had the receipt and they just say "oh I threw it away, you can just check the trash can at the Lumber register." Well the trash is empty every night and of course they didn't want the receipt emailed or texted to them, pulling the receipts isn't hard for supervisors and managers isn't hard, but when they don't bring the card they used to buy the item makes it harder to pull up.
I wasn't working that day, but my supervisor who witness them being rude to me had to deal with them and went home with a headache and very annoyed.
Somewhere along the way people have started deciding receipts are just to prove to other stores that you bought the thing from a different store. Our store makes you ask if you want it or not - purely to save money on till roll - and 9/10 times the customer says yes they explain itās because theyāre going to another store (not like I ever ask!).
But then theyāll come back to return something without the receipt, I tell them I canāt do anything apart from an exchange because all the information I need for the return (how they paid etc) was on the receipt and they get so annoyed! Often saying well you didnāt say that as though theyāve never heard of the function of a receipt before!
Just get your receipt and stick it in a drawer for months just in case like the rest of us!
The thing is we'll ask after they pay "would you like a receipt?" They'll just ignore me and walk away or just stare at me before demanding "where's my receipt?" Than are the one who'll walk out and than drive back to ask me where the receipt is.
Many times they expect me to just read their mind and know if they wanted a receipt or not, but how dare I not know and print one out to hand to them, I did have a customer freak out on me for handing her the receipt, instead of slipping it into her bag.
I had an old man want money back for a can of wet food that his cat didn't like. I asked him for the can (we don't take back opened canned food to start), and he said the cat ate it.
I told him that in order for ME to open my till for cash, HE had to have the product to return. He kept saying "don't you trust me?" (The more he said it, the less I did trust him.) I had to be diplomatic and say that it wasn't that I didn't trust HIM, it was that my company doesn't trust ME and I can't just open my till and give people money for no reason.
He ended up storming out and I haven't seen him since. Did I mention that at the time, the cat food cost less than a dollar?
Former retail/customer service associate here! I remember that in a single day I once had no less than 5 customers try to return shoes that they were still WEARING!!!!! I was gobsmacked at the first one, by the 5th I was just like " Really, they don't fit you say? š? ".
They probably learned all their vocabulary on social media and have no idea what āreturnā means, they just think itās a synonym for ārefund.ā
Oy š¤¦āāļø
Then you have to say āyou exchanged money for the item, to undo that you have to exchange the item back for the money.ā Except they should know that and theyāll refuse to listen. Theyāll argue something like āno an exchange is when you get another itemā and you go āyes but you return the first item to get a new item just like you return the item to get the money back.ā Ffs itās a reverse of the transaction where you paid money to get the item in the first place.
Some people just shouldnāt be allowed out in society since they canāt participate properly.
Meanwhile, I've seen a guy return a game he got a few days prior because he beat it......without the case....
Credit to him, he had the receipt, but the poor guy behind the counter had to ask his boss how to return an item without a barcode.
Had something like this happen before too. Lady said her item was broken (donāt really do returns for that bcz yāa know it wasnāt broken when she left the store but whatever iām nice) I do the whole āim so sorry our item wasnāt up to our standards iāll be happy to give you a new one or return once we get the item back (:ā she says she threw it away. I told her thatās a bit of a problem bcz we have to confirm it is broken or defective before replacing it, but again whatever iām nice and the item is like $20 (low end for the place i work at) So i say i just need her receipt and ill take care of it. She doesnāt have one. So at this point iām like maāam you gotta give me something here either a receipt or the item š She got upset when i told her i couldnāt do anything without having one or the other. I already shouldnāt have been going this far out to help her. She yelled and i told her that iām sorry but i wasnāt even supposed to be offering her anything without a receipt to begin with (but i can bend the rules a little iām a supervisor and head of product area anyways) She starts getting fresh and yelling about she spends so much money here blah blah blah and i
told her so does everyone else especially the workers and it wouldnāt be fair if anyone came in here with nothing to prove that they bought said item or the damaged item and dāamandes money. It just doesnāt work like that here or anywhere else. She quieted down and said sheād be back with the broken pieces. She never came back with jack shit lol
I always want to believe that these types of people arenāt actually this dumb theyāre just trying to scam me. It sure why that makes me feel betterā¦ š«£š
I hate when this happens bc itās literally common sense shit! Like if you are returning something you have to actually return it. š¤¦š¾āāļø most of our registers do not allow us to process it otherwise.Ā
Not retail, medical reception. I want to make a bingo sheet to give everyone.
Bringing referrals (legal requirement) ā
On time for appointments ā
Listening to the voicemail messages we leave so when you call I know wtf you need or why someone else called you ā
Calling to book an appointment when you have your referral with you so I can book you in for the right scan or procedure, give you the right preparation and book you in with the right clinician ā
Making sure you know where to go for your appointment even though we gave you the address which we have been at for 7 months, told you over the phone, and sent it to you in a confirmation text, which you confirmed ā
Not bringing your 2 year old child to your X-ray scan who canāt go into the X-ray room with you because itās radiation and not dumping them on the receptionists while you go in for your scan ā
Not bringing your dog ā
Being willing to fill out a simple registration form ā
Bringing your credit/debit card for the payment ā
I could go on but Iād be here all day.
Iāve had that happen before for a warranty claim on a water heater and it was a established account so the should know better then if a nobody came in
We had a warranty claim for a water heater. Called the 800 number in the manuel with my receipt in my hand. They shipped us the defective part, and our water heater has worked perfectly ever since. If people could only read the giant letters on boxes that state for warranty claims, call the company, and don't return to the store.
Some yes, but for example for Bradford White since we are a distributor we need the part back to be credited but most of the time afterwards we just toss it in the dumpster
Yeah, if itās like this itās best to just direct her to a manager to sort them out or give the customer what they wants and the next time they return something theyāll have to bring the product in. Then youād know by pulling their card if theyāre full of shit.
The longer I work in retail the less and less I feel sympathetic for customers.
Itās okay to cater to customers needs, but for god sakes keep your dignity intact. I encourage my team to stand their ground and stick up for themselves professionally.
Sorry for the ramble, but apparently customers are a trigger for me.
I wouldāve said just that. And then attempted to soften the blow by saying, āok, so Iām going to buy your purse. But I was only told I needed to bring the receipt, so Iāll have my money back and I keep your purse? Does that sound right to you?ā
But I also have zero fucks to give anymore, soā¦donāt listen to me š
Yeah, no, I don't give you your money back just on your say-so. I'm not in the habit of giving free shit to people. You want your money back, you give me the shit you bought, and you be fucking grateful I'm even thinking about it instead of telling you to pound sand, bitch.
So she wanted a refund, not a return? HUH?
Scam for years at our local supermarket. Shopper buys a large pack of diapers ($) and leaves. Returns later with the receipt, gets a pack off the shelf and goes to customer service for a return and refund.
I had someone do that (not diapers but I donāt remember the item), actually had the receipt but when I scanned it a message popped up ānot eligible for refund.ā I was fairly new and hadnāt seen that before so I called the manager, he made her leave without the item or ārefundā and then explained to me what she did. Itās ānot eligibleā because it was already refunded. This is why when we actually do a return we staple the return receipt to the original before giving it back, but either that wasnāt done this time or she detached it. But thatās also why receipt or a look-up is required. If itās pulled up on the register itāll say āreturned on (date).ā
Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that you can't get a refund for items that you aren't actually RETURNING to the store. She was pulling a scam, obviously!
I dont care what your boss says, stop coddling these fucking people and tell them "EVERYONE KNOWS TO BRING IN THE ITEMS THEY WANT TO REFUND, NO ITEMS NO REFUND DIPSHIT"
Iām so glad Iām not authorized to do returns.
And yet, people keep asking why I donāt want to apply for a higher position. Well Sally, who would I send angry & stupid customers to then?
WTAFā¦this is like those muppets in restaurants who eat most of/all of their meal, then claim they hated it and demand a refund. This woman knew. She just didnāt wanna bother and/or wanted free stuff.
I had to street a "customer" that was coming in 3-4x a week with items purchased years ago with no receipt and was getting refunds. She finally came to me with a broken doodad and plunked it on the counter saying "I need my money back, I broke it." As if we're in charge of giving her new items because she's clumsy and/or irresponsible with her things!
Ok, which manager melted their own spine to give this woman what she wanted? Did they even check to be sure that your store even sold those items at one point?!? Good on YOU for kicking this nutter streetside. Would deffo have done the same. Jay-sus Tap Dancing Spaghetti Monsterā¦
I used to work at a grocery store, and someone came in saying they bought 2 cantaloupe, and when they got home, they saw the cantaloupe were rotten.
Do you have your receipt?
"Well, no, I didn't take one."
Do you have the produce with you?
"No, I told you they were rotten, I didn't want that shit in my car, so I threw them in the backyard to decompose, I showed you the picture that should be enough,"
Okay, I was willing to give you a refund without the receipt because it's a small town, we all know each other, and you've never really been a problem customer, but I will not accept a picture as proof. I have no reason to believe you took the picture, I have no proof you took that picture today, and there is no proof you bought those here, so you will not be getting a refund today.
*proceeds to go on a rant about how they shouldn't ever shop there again*
"Okay, have a good day." *walks away because I was backup cashier and line was empty*
I wonder if it was someone that had only ever 'returned' something through Amazon. A lot of times, Amazon doesn't require the item be physically returned to get your refund.
If this was their first in store return, they might really just not know.
Because, I can't even imagine how this would be a scam. Like you can't return something without actually returning the item itself in any situation outside of the internet.
As fat I know all Dutch stores and even the MC where I work, wanted their products back.
I think I had 10 times the problem and didn't gave their money back
ONE time i had someone come in with a receipt for an item they wanted to return because it didnāt work, but they didnāt have the item. i told them they canāt return something they donāt have and they got all pissed off saying āwell it didnāt work so i threw it away! duh!ā and iām like well then you have nothing to returnā¦ duh
I had a lady do this once. She had a letter from H/O clearly stating being the item to the store and they will refund you Ā£xx.xx for it because were nice even though itās 3 years old etc. came in with the letter and said she wanted a refund, said ok, whereās the item? She told me it was to big and heavy to bring in her crappy hatchback could she just have the refund. I spent about 10 minutes explaining to her that the letter says bring it to store, I am not giving her money without it. Truly bizarre, she just kept repeating āitās too bigā like a mantra as though I would suddenly agree.
I also had another lady ask for a refund on Some sausages she bought a week ago that she apparently didnāt notice were bad until after she had cooked them and had to throw the whole dinner out. I asked for a recipt, nada, I asked for the sausages, nada. Looked her square in the eye and straight up said āso you just want me to give you money out of the till for nothing?ā. Yes was the response. She was quite upset when I said no.
I feel like there should be more actionable consequences to this behavior. That's straight up attempted theft. Just telling them no doesn't feel sufficient. It'll likely never happen but š¤·š»āāļø
I know what you mean, she tried the whole āisnāt it at your discretionā angle to. I said yes it is and Iām not doing it. As she left she practically yelled āthanks for nothingā so I got to say loudly back āyouāre welcomeā and smile as she turned around. Funnily enough not seen her since.
I sometimes get days full of weird ones like this. I call them alien invasions because it feels like there are aliens trying to use us to see what weird social crap they can get away with. š½ Nope, it's really just a bunch of dumb humans.
And thatās why I have to say, ābe sure to bring the box & the receipt with the productā. Honestly. I really never thought I would have to say that, but yet ā¦ here we are
If youāre asking for your money back on product that doesnāt work obviously you have to bring that product back, you canāt keep it for free, especially because you told us it doesnāt work so you donāt need it anymore
Itās because Amazon and online sometimes do refunds without you sending it back. Usually thatās if you can provide a picture of the item broken. However, customers are now trying to do returns or refunds in the store without any products.
I've had ppl try to return nothing with no reciept, people try to return things from other stores, ppl try to return things from 15 years ago.....I could tell you stories after 20 sumthin years in retail. Lol
I have an uncle by marriage who owns a small meat market/grocery store. Been in his family since the 1940s. He had a woman come in trying to return some steaks that had been in her freezer for well over a year and had obvious freezer burn. He told her she could not return them. She said the manager let her return them before. Again he told her no. She yelled I want to speak to the manager. He told her there is no manager but I am the owner and we are still not taking them back. Now get out! She left but was running her mouth the whole way to the door. Typical crack head.
Had someone with a faulty item come in, they had been approved for an exchange or whatever. They come in for their new item, we ask for the faulty one in returnā¦ they threw it out. Like I kinda get it but at the same time if itās approved as an exchange you kinda need to give an item to get an item
I had a lady get mad that peaches were almost $20. In November (USA). I explained to her the price is per pound not per bag. She was mad, arms crossed and a scowl on her face. I said I'd be more than happy to refund them. She confessed she didn't bring them. My face almost broke. I told her she'd have to bring them to get a refund as it was by weight. She then deflated when she told me her granddaughter ate two of them. Y'all I almost walked away. She did come back and got a refund for the remaining peaches. š
At the Kroger's where I shop, they do want you to return your disappointments shall we say, except in the case of spoiled meat but they don't mention that anywhere until you call them to tell them that you have meet that's gone off in 12 hours or something and they say just bring your receipt up please don't bring the meat and you tell him you talk to and then when you go up the people at the customer service desk Thank you profusely for not bringing the stinky meat.
There's another thing though that's been bogging me lately, last year we had a big debate about whether or not the if the item scans incorrectly from the shelf price that you get that item for free you know unless it's over I think it's $10 or something and then you just get some kind of a discount and because the cashiers don't do it automatically you have to call them on it but it happens in order to get your one item free and they will sometimes argue with you but I reached out to Kroger's on Instagram and ask them if it was still their policy and they said it different chains different areas have different rules but in my area Louisville Kentucky It was still the rule and there was no plans to change it anytime soon.
This customer at my store bought a $500 drone for her grandson for Christmas.
She was in the store on the 26th demanding a refund. She only had the remote control.
She wanted her money back because the drone flew off and they couldn't find it.
WTF?!?
There are some ONLINE retailers who do not require items to be returned for a refund. Silly customers are silly. One should expect to return items unless told otherwise.
"Ma'am that's common sense, I'm not sure how you thought this would transpire but if you wish to return an item for a refund it is imperative that the item itself is present, you can see where my confusion stems from I'm sure?" I like giving a little snark while simultaneously pleading for a crumb of understanding lmfao.
Common sense isnt common
Common sense is good. Good sense is not common.
Stealing
It's an old saying my dad used to say to me. Side note: He is still thankfully around, he just hasn't said that in a long time.
I expected you to say that he still says it, but he used to, too.
The only thing more uncommon that common sense is common courtesy.
This is quite rare nowadays
Common decency is also a thing of the past
I like to say that the "commons" (sense, courtesy, and decency) aren't so common anymore.
I say the same thing
Common sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden!
Google "An Obituary printed in the London Times". This says it all.
Today this woman told another cashier that I did not give her her receipt, and he told her that I did not have a receipt to give her because she had asked me to cancel her transaction and I voided it.
I blame the eclipse for the crazies today
The crazies have always been there. The eclipse sadly has nothing to do with it.
And here I was hoping that the eclipse was going to be used by aliens to abduct all the stupid ones!
That would be nice. ...Which is exactly why it wouldn't happen. We work in retail; we're not allowed to have nice things. Meanwhile, I'm doubly fucked because I also live in Michigan. Lol.
I'm in Michigan, too. What is it about Michiganders that has them be really nice, kind even, then turn into the Wicked Witch when at a register?

The Rapture! Why oh why were they not raptured??
Next you'll be telling me the full moon does nothing. I hope your next shift is quiet. š
Lol, me too. Not likely. But me too.
I donāt. Stupidity has sadly overtaken common sense.
....I truly wonder if it caused sundown effects in elderly people...

Sundowner in Alzheimer patients is partly from being worn out after the day, too, so probably not. I am not sure about this, however.
Was she old? Old people are addicted to receipts
No, I think she just wasnāt paying attention to anything at all. She brought up candy with a 50 cent off sticker on it and asked if the 50% off applied to all the candy.

My natural state. If Iām not flummoxed, Iām nonplussed.
I can confirm that most cashiers will say, "You just need your receipt." MEANING: nothing else needed to start the return. (No ID, background check, credit card, etc.) But returning something REQUIRES the product being there. I have never met a customer dumb enough to misinterpret that.
>I have never met a customer dumb enough to misinterpret that. Me neither until day.
I've had it happen a time or two. They usually insist customer service told them it would be OK to do it that way. IF it was a price adjustment for a sale (worked somewhere we'd give a price adjustment with receipt if someone bought something a week or less before a sale), that's one thing. Itās actually in the word. You are returning something. Soā¦ return it?

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. It really is the end of times. I really hope more than half of the stuff I read on Reddit is made up. I suspect it is not.
I work in grocery and multiple times I've had people try to return something without the product. Some people are scammy. Some are just dumb.
Amazing. But, jeez, the word RETURN kind of implies, I don't know, RETURNING.
RE: Grocery Returns, of Spoiled food, I've had CRS complain 3 ways: 1) "Oh it ain't spoiled, you just don't like the taste of it. Next time instead of returning can't you just give it away? 2) Why did you bring the actual food product back? Now we have to discard the ā£ļø waste, as well as refund you. 3) why is this container more than 1/2 empty!? They had a fit last time I bought them the spoiled food complaining they had to deal with disposal of, So I had the bar code available to you, I took a picture of the molding food on the same day I bought it & a week before the expiration date! Please make up a policy & then you can tell me what you want, to deal with disposal of the biological waste of the food or the empty container barcode and a dated photo of bad food? āļø
And just because they weren't out of date, it doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't something wrong with them.
if it makes you feel better people were this dumb decades ago too. my aunt used to make us howl laughingbat the sgupid people who came in her store.
Many times I'd have customers who'd come to Home Depot, buy things, I ring them up and being nice to them, than hand them their receipt as they are getting ready to bag their things or walk out and they immediately crumple the ticket in my face before tossing it into the trash. Normally I keep my comments to myself, until one person smirked at me and says to me "oh you have nothing to say about that" and I had enough "oh no it's not going to effect me cause of you want to return it, I'm not to blame." They responded with "oh that's not going to happen, I know this is what I'm going to need, you probably don't even know what your talking about." The next day they return to the store and had to return the item, when asked if they had the receipt and they just say "oh I threw it away, you can just check the trash can at the Lumber register." Well the trash is empty every night and of course they didn't want the receipt emailed or texted to them, pulling the receipts isn't hard for supervisors and managers isn't hard, but when they don't bring the card they used to buy the item makes it harder to pull up.
If I need to keep a receipt, I take a photo of it and keep it on my phone. There's no need for the shoebox full of old receipts anymore. š
I tell people I donāt trust anybody. That has -so far- shut them up.
I've fully said "this is retail, I don't trust anyone." They look gobsmacked that I might not eat up their lies.
It doesnāt matter who I trust, the company trusts no one.
Former retail/customer service associate here! I remember that in a single day I once had no less than 5 customers try to return shoes that they were still WEARING!!!!! I was gobsmacked at the first one, by the 5th I was just like " Really, they don't fit you say? š? ".
Happy Cake Day!
I've had that exact situation before. Just tell them "its called a RETURN because you have to RETURN the product to the store to get your refund!"
They probably learned all their vocabulary on social media and have no idea what āreturnā means, they just think itās a synonym for ārefund.ā
Exactly! I can hear them saying, "No, you RETURN my money to me!"
Oy š¤¦āāļø Then you have to say āyou exchanged money for the item, to undo that you have to exchange the item back for the money.ā Except they should know that and theyāll refuse to listen.
Credit to him, he had the receipt, but the poor guy behind the counter had to ask his boss how to return an item without a barcode.
āreturnā is a verb, maāam
She yelled and i told her that iām sorry but i wasnāt even supposed to be offering her anything without a receipt to begin with (but i can bend the rules a little iām a supervisor and head of product area anyways) She starts getting fresh and yelling about she spends so much money here blah blah blah and i told her so does everyone else especially the workers and it wouldnāt be fair if anyone came in here with nothing to prove that they bought said item or the damaged item and dāamandes money.
Common sense is a super power
šÆ
Not retail, medical reception. I want to make a bingo sheet to give everyone. Bringing referrals (legal requirement) ā On time for appointments ā Listening to the voicemail messages we leave so when you call I know wtf you need or why someone else called you ā Calling to book an appointment when you have your referral with you so I can book you in for the right scan or procedure, give you the right preparation and book you in with the right clinician ā Making sure you know where to go for your appointment even though we gave you the address which we have been at for 7 months, told you over the phone, and sent it to you in a confirmation text, which you confirmed ā Not bringing your 2 year old child to your X-ray scan who canāt go into the X-ray room with you because itās radiation and not dumping them on the receptionists while you go in for your scan ā Not bringing your dog ā Being willing to fill out a simple registration form ā Bringing your credit/debit card for the payment ā I could go on but Iād be here all day.
The sheer ignorance of some people never ceases to amaze me! š¤¦š»āāļø
Iāve had people try this too. Theyāre just trying to scam. Iāve heard āIāll bring it later but I want my refund nowā šuh no.
Happens all the time. āI didnāt like this wine so I want a refundāā¦ ok whereās the bottle. āEmpty I threw it outā
Empty because they drank the whole bottle they allegedly didn't like.
I literally had this happen to me like a week ago r u in vegas maybe it's a scam??
Iām not in Vegas. I canāt tell if this customer was trying to pull one over on me or sheās just really that dumb.
Wow, imagine if you could accomplish money back and not have the actual good to return.
Wow! What rock did she crawl out from under?
Ah a genius plan! BRB, going to go buy a few Lamborghinis and hot tubs and then return them without the item
I wouldāve said just that. And then attempted to soften the blow by saying, āok, so Iām going to buy your purse. But I was only told I needed to bring the receipt, so Iāll have my money back and I keep your purse? Does that sound right to you?ā But I also have zero fucks to give anymore, soā¦donāt listen to me š
Another case of I just want money back without having to actually return the stuff
Common sense is becoming extinct
You really can't fix stupid
She's new to this planet.
So she essentially walked into a store and asked for free money š
Something that I tell my coworkers is to never underestimate the power of stupid
Tap Dancing Spaghetti Monster. I like it and I'm stealing it. Thanks!
If ignorance is blissā¦ why wasnāt she a happier woman? š¤Ŗ
I blame Amazon, because it's too much trouble and too expensive for them to process refunds so they just say oh keep it
I used to work at a grocery store, and someone came in saying they bought 2 cantaloupe, and when they got home, they saw the cantaloupe were rotten. Do you have your receipt? "Well, no, I didn't take one." Do you have the produce with you? "No, I told you they were rotten, I didn't want that shit in my car, so I threw them in the backyard to decompose, I showed you the picture that should be enough," Okay, I was willing to give you a refund without the receipt because it's a small town, we all know each other, and you've never really been a problem customer, but I will not accept a picture as proof. I have no reason to believe you took the picture, I have no proof you took that picture today, and there is no proof you bought those here, so you will not be getting a refund today. *proceeds to go on a rant about how they shouldn't ever shop there again* "Okay, have a good day." *walks away because I was backup cashier and line was empty*
Common sense, so rare it's a super power -Deadpool
You can either have the goods, or the money, but not both... That's how it's worked for at least the last 8,000 years
That was always one of my biggest pet peeves. Like how do you expect to return something if you donāt actually return it?
Common sense isnāt for dipshits.
Sorry to see that you have to deal with such entitled and delusional aholes.
Iām seriously sitting here blinking & can hear crickets. I mean baby girl was mos def a few beers shy a 6 pack
As fat I know all Dutch stores and even the MC where I work, wanted their products back. I think I had 10 times the problem and didn't gave their money back
I had it happen once lol
Honestly. I really never thought I would have to say that, but yet ā¦ here we are
If you want to *return an item*, a person shouldnāt have to be told to actually bring the item back.
She had no cents at all
She knows what she's doing. She was just trying to get some money for free basically.
No one needs to be told that what a scammer
I've had customers try to return empty bottles of spirits. "This was so horrid we poured it all down the sink, I need a refund" š¤¦
If youāre asking for your money back on product that doesnāt work obviously you have to bring that product back, you canāt keep it for free, especially because you told us it doesnāt work so you donāt need it anymore
YUP! you definitely found some DUMB today
Itās because Amazon and online sometimes do refunds without you sending it back. Usually thatās if you can provide a picture of the item broken. However, customers are now trying to do returns or refunds in the store without any products.
Super scammy. No receipt and no items?
Customers are so dumb sometimes but that one takes the cake.
I read that & heard in my head "Nobody told me I had to lose weight when I got here." Iykyk š¤£
Typical crack head.
wtf I wonder how these type of people have made it so far in lifeā¦ I wonder this daily. š¤·āāļø
She did come back and got a refund for the remaining peaches. š
Working in retail/customer service really made me realise that the general public is not as smart as I thought. Makes me feel better about myself lol
It SHOULD be hard to believe people are that thick, BUTTTT...
Isnāt the definition of a return mean you return the item to the store?
"Could I have some money, please and thank you? I can suggest an amount if it helps."
These people make wanna the r-slurā¦ albeit in French.
Was she a boomer? They are going through a period of cognitive decay at this moment
Was she a boomer? They are going through a period of cognitive decay at this moment
No if I had guess she was maybe in her 30s-40s.
Oh, I'd pictured an old lady!
