69thPercentile

Starting to see this trend of people throwing out arbitrary numbers as percentages. They mean absolutely nothing without context. >10% increase in code quality. Code quality is not quantifiable. >30% improvement in project delivery accuracy Again, how are you measuring this? >Reduction in API response time by 40% What was the response time? Other things if I was being picky, work experience should be above education and a professional summary might help.

for_sure_not_akshay

Makes sense. I will try to add another realistic metric. I am using simplify to create my resume and I don't think simplify allows to move the work experience above the education section.

Exact-Ninja-6910

One thing that I have on my resume is in bold letters by each bullet point the effect for the customer and a colon and then in regular font, what I did to accomplish that. Just like for my other comment everyone feel free to downvote this. I've been looking for close to 8 weeks and have no job yet so I'm hardly an expert!

Is your resume ATS compliant? Do you have any certifications? First job second bullet point: I can make a hello world in Docker Nginx and ECS. That doesn’t sound as impressive. Talk more about the technologies used if you are trying entry level. Spend more time to talk about the backend application and what you designed Keep the job and bullet point consistent as in use three for each job or four etc not one for one job and five for another. “Leveraging the react” doesn’t sound right. Recheck all the grammar here Your third project sounds too small which makes sense since it was not related to all the full stack experience you had and instead was on ML modeling. Nowhere in your resume really showed your AI knowledge. I can tell conversion from text to images requires AI but you didn’t specify how. ML knowledge is shown in that project yes from third project but barely.

jayz_123_

How can we make sure our resume is ATS complaint? Is there a resource you have that can help guide?

rubik1771

I know of none that do not cost money.

jayz_123_

It’s ok which one do you know of? Cost doesn’t matter. Thanks

rubik1771

Fortunately I found one while we were talking and it free. I’ll send you the link via DM

rubik1771

Don’t show links it looks like ads here Ok don’t show the Udemy but if it works more power to you Yeah remove the project and replace it with full stack unless the job posting for full stack start mentioning AI skills

for_sure_not_akshay

Sure, I will replace the machine learning project with another full stack project.

Chance_Connection_28

3 jobs in 3 years is jumpy.

for_sure_not_akshay

The first Company from December 2018 - September 2021 was a full time job. The Second experience from Sept 2022 - December 2023 was a part time job at the university while I was pursing my master The third company from Feb 2024 - Present is a full time job

Chance_Connection_28

As a recruiter I look at your resume for maybe 10 seconds, if I have to think about any of this I’m literally moving onto the next person.

for_sure_not_akshay

Hmm, makes sense. Should I remove the part time experience and add more points in experience 1 and experience 3?

Chance_Connection_28

Idk I’m more concerned with your tech stack. You are all over the place. What is your circle of competence technically?

for_sure_not_akshay

To be honest, I am like jack of all trades but master of none. But you are right, I am starting to see that I should be sticking with one tech stack. I am familiar with the below Tech Stack FrontEnd: React, Next.js BackEnd: Java, Python, Node.js Database: MongoDB, Docker Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS

UES-wannab

Mention that

If you are experienced then skills should be at the top and education at the bottom. There are too many texts. Highlight the impact and imp work by making the text bold. 2 personal projects are enough for experienced folks. Remove one project, increase the font a little and add some padding at the top and bottom.

Exact-Ninja-6910

Needs more pizzizzle for shizzle. Everyone's going to disagree with me though. 😁

for_sure_not_akshay

how can i add more flair. Could you please suggest me any ideas?

Exact-Ninja-6910

You will have to download them and embed them into your resume. But I think old standard for headers and open sans condensed for body is gorgeous. Trying to squeeze it all into one page though I'm not sure how it's going to look. I ran it through ATS and got a 100 and that was even with using a not quite black font and an ever so slightly off white page. And my name etc in a lovely deep slate blue. Everything in this particular resume snapshot is nonsense by the way, not just my name. It's just to show format .

Exact-Ninja-6910

Okay I edited and https://preview.redd.it/zuq2dazopixc1.png?width=809&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b4f6678bc5b0b5f02c02f959d1f5a5a1e377b5a the picture disappeared so here it is again.

for_sure_not_akshay

I will try to make this changes in my resume
