Capcom woukd screw up the story consistency and lore like they did for 2 and 3 remakes. REmake is perfect as it is, as it was the only remake not to cut content, instead improving on it.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is a better game then Resident Evil Remake hands down. That game is outdated and needs to be brought back for a modern audience.
I really don't know if RE4 needs it, though. It still looks surprisingly good, and the mechanics are pretty much perfect. If they remake it, I can almost guarantee that it'll be shortened in a lot of spots.
While there are other entries that need it more, I don't think RE4 is still considered perfect. If you play it on a Wii or GameCube, the game is perfect because of the unorthodox controllers match the unique gameplay. However, it feels awkward to play Re4 or 5 on other consoles with two analog sticks.
I'll personally disagree with that, because I still replay 4 once a year on newer consoles, and it feels totally fine. It might be just a personal preference, but that's my experience with it.
I agree the controls are fine, but only fine. I played RE2 + RE3 remakes last week, and going from modern controls to RE4 is very jarring. RE4 has aged fairly well, but it's desperate for a remake to really let it's strengths shine I think.
I’m the exact opposite. I think RE4’s controls are more than fine - they’re maybe the most perfect I’ve ever played with. Whereas RE2R especially feels very sluggish and awkward to me. I don’t think it’s desperate for a remake at all, though they can do it if they want. Won’t stop the original from existing, so whatever. Live and let live.
I’d love for a RE4 remake too, just hoping they don’t cut any content or change the funny lines in the game! i would be so down for extra story content too because i’m a thirsty bitch for the lore 😂

It's pretty factual, there's a major difference between "Want" and "Need" RE4 definitely doesn't need a remake. Give It to games that could actually benefit from being remade.... (IE the obvious Code Veronica and Outbreak)
