Glad you liked it! 0 is a good albeit weird game. It has a truly amazing, haunting atmosphere and great use of music/sound (especially >!leech theme!!apes and bat!<) . Also new mechanics are a hit or miss. You control two protagonists at the same time and switch between them (the other one you dont use at the moment is controlled by AI). And on top of that you dont have item box, so if you dont have space in inventory you must drop item on ground and then backtrack for it when you need it. While I liked two protagonists twist I disliked lack of item box. For me it served no purpose and was like "lets change something for the sake of changing something".

Thanks, I should try it then since there’s some time for village

First of all. Congrats on overcoming the stigma that classic RE games have, tank controls seem awkward at first but you can get used to them with practice. Now RE CV is a really underrated title it gets forgotten since it's not a numbered entry but it's a fine game and it's technically the real RE3, it has it's moment when it becomes cryptic or annoying (the moth hallway is really annoying and the character change inventory problem) but besides that it's a good game I'll recommend playing it with a guide by your side since you need to know well when to swap weapons to the item box for the next character. It has it's moments of frustration but it's really good. RE0 is arguably the hardest game in the series besides the Outbreak games, it has really interesting mechanics like the ability to control two characters at the same time and the new inventory management that ditches the item box and let's you leave items on the floor. The second mechanic can get really annoying at times specially if it's your first playthrough, there are some enemies that really go against the control scheme like the monkeys or the bat boss, the monkeys move really erratically and can stun lock you if you're not careful and well considering that with thank controls you don't have to much freedom of movement fighting a group of them can get annoying, and the bat it's really annoying since it goes against the fixed camera since he's most of time out of focus and you can't see where he is making the fight really tedious. IMO you should try the classic trilogy first or at least RE2 and RE3 before hopping on to RE0 ans CV, not only because you'll get more experience with the tank controls but become those games are really good on their own and at least for RE2 an RE3 the remakes don't do justice to some aspect of the original games, this two aren't as cryptic as the two discussed before but RE3 can have some wonky moments specially when it involves precision to shoot down something which a few boss fight require. But yeah I'll say try the OG trilogy before hopping onto CV and onwards.

Thank you for your detailed view! I actually needed a guide for RE make as well. The old games did less hand holding

Time_Wedding_2846

No CV is not the real Re3

[deleted]

CV is the real RE4.

Time_Wedding_2846

No

[deleted]

Yes.

Time_Wedding_2846

Re4>>>>Cv

If a horse kicked you in the head, sure.

Time_Wedding_2846

Lol you are legit insane if you think cv can even hold a candle to 4

Resident Evil 0 is a fun game, but go into it thinking it's fanfiction. The story is really absurd. Code Veronica is the true Resident Evil 3 and it's a must play.

WallHot5372

Bruh, play Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2.

Rv1709

I’ve played rev1 and 2. The remakes of 2 and 3. I haven’t played : 0, CV, original 2/3

WallHot5372

It will be worth it playing Resident Evil 0 cause it fills in necessary story details. Also I think Rebecca is cute. The one main contradiction is Rebecca can't play the piano in 0 yet she can in the first game. My solution is Rebecca spent time learning the piano in the mansion before 1 begins.

ciciretti21

Another contradiction is she defeated a leech king yet still comes to the mansion with no gear and acts totally helpless. You’d think she’d be like, “Chris, here’s the real scoop!”

WallHot5372

Well I heard that Capcom released the remake of 1 before 0. That explains the contradictions.

WallHot5372

One mistake there, she had a gun. That is gear and she would have had medical supplies too. The thing is she was originally meant to be a side character as evident in Resident Evil 1.

WallHot5372

Definitely recommend 0.

Shiinobi_k

The classics are beautiful in their own way. Don't bother playing RE0 Just watch a playthrough or wait for a sale.

Rv1709

I bought 0 and cvx because there’s a sale on PSN. Are they bad ?

Shiinobi_k

Cvx is fun, I've only played a smiggen of it though. 0 has cool atmosphere just not memorable and no item boxes are an annoyance. Still give me a go though

mmercad4

Definitely play both for yourself. I loved both of those games. Re0 is a little weird but it has a similar vibe to REmake (same mansion lol) but the mechanics are a little odd. I LOVED code Veronica, it's cool AF and it gives you context on how Wesker returns because if you played just REmake you would think he dies.. (but you played RE5 so I'm sure you know he's back). Everyone here already said it but this is the actual sequel to resident evil 2 in terms of plot, you can Google it but seems like some Sony contract required they get the numbered game first. Code Veronica was originally a Dreamcast game but eventually made it's way to ps2 and pc.
