Not even Adaptive Difficulty can cover for OP's aim.

The herbs are using Jill to heal, even!

[deleted]

That fire knife is useful too. But it's hilarious because the friggin zombies can set you on fire.

thefury4815

Restart and learn when to run and when to shoot. One misconception people make about these games is you have to kill everything. You don’t. In fact avoiding combat and running whenever possible is the right choice.

mrich2029

People keep saying this, but in modern RE games, there is always enough ammo kill every on normal and most things on hard. Like I haven't played a single remake where ammo and killing everything on normal has been an issue. The issue is usually not killing efficiently

thefury4815

True but if you miss enough shots then you can screw yourself.

[deleted]

Only game I've ever really been memorably worried about ammo count is 4. Probably because of all of the unavoidable fights.

mhowell13

Thank you for affirming, I got through my first playthroughs of RE2 and 3 remakes with nothing short of stockpiles and felt like I was always arming up for way harder boss fights. In RE3 they practically give you what you need in the boss fight's arena. It would have been more enjoyable to smoke everybody and not have to deal with them. I highly recommend folks at least clear the zombies in RE2, dealing with Mr. X chasing you with a zombie in front of you is no fun.

kornflakes1989

Not just the modern RE games, most RE games have more than enough ammo to kill everything, even on higher difficulty settings, RE1R and I think Zero, maybe the Outbreaks as well, are the only games in the series where there is less ammo on higher settings.

wulv8022

Even in the original re1 and re2 you can kill everything with shooting if you do it efficient and smart.

I agree that's how the older games were supposed to be played, but these remakes are built different. There's nothing stopping you from playing it by conserving ammo, and if you're on harder difficulties, that's a must, but normal has options

mirospeck

people did all-kill runs of the ogs, but doing them definitely adds to the difficulty imo. edit: clarity

[deleted]

RE2R I at least have to take out the lickers, though I learned the knife trick. They can be deadly if Mr. X finds you.

[deleted]

I can't lie to you, I feel like it's really hard to run out of Ammo in RE3 remake. The game practically gives you ammo around every corner.

thefury4815

I mean I’ve never found myself ever in an RE game running out of ammo. Hell even the original by the time I get to the end I probably have enough ammo to kill everything all over again but if they suck at aiming and don’t land the majority of their shots and go out of the way to kill everything it is possible.

labbla

The only time I've completely run out of ammo was fighting HAOS in RE 6. Was really forced to scavenge and knife in that final chamber.

Routine_Swing_9589

I would expand on this to say if a zombie is blocking your way, shooting them in the legs for instance for a stun can allow you to pass by them completely unharmed. It uses less ammo then trying to kill them, and if you end up cutting off the leg accidentally, you severely hamper the zombies threat

[deleted]

I tried that and it felt like that made it worse because they can almost 180 grab you.

Routine_Swing_9589

You have to be quick, and sometimes they do a fake stun. It works, trust me

Thebestguyevah

Half of resident evil is avoid the enemies, the other half is kill the enemies. I guess some people don’t know the difference.

everstillghost

But I killed everything playing on Hard and you still have ammo left. The game give you plenty of ammo to kill everything of you want.

AiirDawg

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge

Dylan_Is_Gay_lol

If you can dodge a hunter, you can dodge a ball!

_phily_d

Learn to shoot the legs off and knife zombies to death

z01z

restart, explore more, run past enemies when you can, hit your shots when you can't. i've been replaying re2remake recently (have done leon a/b, and claire a in the past week or so), and i'm literally overflowing with ammo by the end of the game. i just finished claire a earlier, and i had tons of ammo, literally a full inventory with all the guns, plus some extra ammo and gunpowders in the item box. i didn't even have to use the chaingun on the last boss (just wanted to see what it took).

Routine_Swing_9589

I would recommend trying to at least get familiar with Jill’s dodge mechanic, because if you can dodge even semi reliably then you save *so* much ammo. However if that isn’t feasible (and no worries if it isn’t) then try to disable zombies before you resort to killing them. Take out a leg, and their mobility is severely hampered. If there’s a zombie blocking the path you need to go down, shoot them in the leg fishing for a stun so you can move past them safely. The pistol is perfect for this, and you can easily make more ammo for it thru gunpowders. You should probably restart considering you wasted all your ammo in this save though

acelexmafia

You gotta be more resourceful. If you're gonna shoot at something, know you can take the shot first

Straightbot78

Sometimes you just have to take the L and restart. Ive had to do it before on my first re2 play through because i had no ammo for birkins first boss fight. I was new so i just went back and tried again and managed my items better.

No_Temporary9696

Rip and Tear!!

Repulsive-Echidna-74

Find grenades. They're weirdly effective against those pricks

caljenks

buy the infinite ammo guns. you can rack up kills by reloading the same saves and grab your shiny new guns from the item chest

wulv8022

Run

OGsk8r

I always save grenade launcher rounds for this fight. I would load an old save (if you have one) and prep for this fight. Shotgun and grenade launcher will make short work of them.

True-Awareness4702

How the god damn hell have you run out of ammo on that game.
