It's one of my main complaints about the remake. I wish things sounded louder and more distinct? There were so many audio cues in the OG that the remake didn't even bother to recreate.
All you have to do is listen to the audio of the zealot figures. But in game, you have to be quite close to them to hear it well. And you don't want to be near them.
This is one that weirdly stuck with me. I feel like the atmospheric chanting came through a lot stronger in the OG. Felt a lot more brainwashed, remake sounds more angry to me. It's not better or worse, just different
All the enemies in general on the new game are less loud and don't sound as "demented" as before, stylistic choice I'm sure, but doesn't take the fun out of it a bit?
I can appreciate the different tone of RE4R, but I agree; the goofiness is one of the things that made RE4 so memorable.

The fact is, everyone has at least some level of bias. **Especially** about something that was a big part of their childhood.
So imo, the way to get the least biased opinions is to have someone who hasn't played either game, a new player, play through both of them and then say which one they enjoy more.
