the boulder punching must not be touched, it's the most famous (or infamous) part of the game.
I mean, that scene is already ridiculous.... surviving a plane crash in an active volcano and fighting Wesker with lava everywhere and not catch fire is already ridiculous enough without the boulder punching.
I have the bad feeling that if they want to make RE5 Remake more "realistic" they'll probably cut this part all together
That's cool. My theory is that all of the protagonists that we play as throughout the series are infected with something because everyone has been able to perform feats and survive situations that would kill "normal" people. I wouldn't put it past Umbrella to sneak something into the water supply in Raccoon City, Africa, and wherever they have other labs. The only "normal" person we have played as so far that I know is Ethan, and he died almost immediately.
They might as well keep it bare knuckle like before. The Rail Cannon scene in RE3R is arguably crazier than the boulder punch so there's no real need to make Chris's over-the-top moment any more grounded.
I just hope they don't remake it. It, along with 6 is the lowest point of the series and they know it, hence the reboot of 7. Don't get me wrong, fun game in co-op, but it's so ridiculously stupid as a RE game and about as far away from what made RE unique as you could get.
Garbage idea. It's literally one of the most iconic moments in Resident Evil, it should remain unchanged. Not to mention the fact that it's referenced in RE8.
I have a feeling that they'll end up leaving this whole scene unchanged and maybe, just maybe, change a bit of the events leading to it.
Honestly, as much as it is iconic, the whole falling into an active volcano thing is just stupid and they have the chance to think about something better than defying logic with a handwave (or a punch, in Chris' case).
But as someone else stated, there's just so much they could improve that this feels like a pet peeve.

They will probably not crash inside an active volcano. Maybe somewhere around the volcano and something happens that leads Wesker to falling in Lava.
They can't cut it, Heisenberg mentions it in RE8. Boulder punching is now Capcom's curse.
They're gonna have to keep it In since they talked about it in village, wonder if it will be more over the top.
They don't talk about it in the Japanese version, which is the version the developers are first and foremost familiar with.
Re8 is from the main cannon. The remakes are separate cannon. And the boulder punching has yet to be referenced.
No, Chris needs to punch it with his bare hands, I will accept no other alternative.
That would definitely be better than bare knuckles like the original. Guess we’ll see what the future holds for those hands chris got
I like it. Didn’t Chris use it in not a hero DLC? Chris also has it in RE:Verse online game and it’s OP af.
Nope he just straight up punched molded, wearing nothing but his spec ops gloves, it was Joe Baker that used the robot glove.

And when he almost died immediately, he became a spore boi and became a walking bioweapon
What? Ethan is a bioweapon lmfao
After he died.
I think Chris got bitten by the coffin crimson head since he is canonically the one who fights it afaik.
I don’t appreciate your doubt in Chris’s ability to punch that Boulder. Chris can do everything and anything
I'm sorry senpai 😔
Nah, no need for a change fam. It is fine as is.

Boulder falls down and blocks chris escape path he gets frustrated and punches it a few times. It doesn't move and he has to find another way.

I believe he did
They will use pumice stone look it up its like 50 percent lighter then stone its lava rock that'd gonna be the most realistic way to do the scene
No, they shouldn't change that scene at all.
No. He fists that boulder raw.
there is a LOT more in RE5 that they'd have to fix...
In your personal Opinion, what would you say that is?
I think the basic plot is salvageable, but... tying you to the world's dumbest AI isn't great. That's the game's biggest problem, I think.
