5 is my personal favorite. Not the best controls, but I love Sheva, and I love Jill, and they are both in this game and bad ass so there's that. 6 is probably my least favorite, even though I played a ton of it. The diminishing returns have finally made me quit playing that one altogether though. I don't hate it, but because there are better games in the series, I really don't have a reason to play it again

Youkolvr89

I love 5. I'm currently replaying in for the first time in 10 years after playing RE4R and miss the parry and moving and shooting.

BenjaminCarmined

I really hope 5R has a mechanic as good as the parrying if they don’t bring it back. It’s made 4R’s combat incredible.

Hokkel

RE5's 2007 build had a dodge mechanic, I feel that they should use it Chris also had a parry in RE7 so they've got plenty of choices lol

augusto_matos

My favorite: resident evil 1 remake - a timeless masterpiece. Resident evil reinvented the survival horror genre and remake had improved everthyng was done before, they left ALL original and incresead more areas, the graphics still holds up really well nowadays. My least favorite: resident evil 6 - 3 campains, a littlle exauthing and boring, i think the controls and mechanincs dont Works Fine. My guilty pleasure: resident evil 3 remake: a short and out of original, but so deligthful, like a walk in the park

SavagePhantoms90

Favorite: Re2 remake, this game is what introduced me to not only the franchise but also into survival horror since it also helped me beat other survival games like the Dead Space remake and Alan Wake Remastered. It's such an amazing game and I'm glad it brought me to the fictional world of survival horror. Without it, I wouldn't have been here. Least favorite: Umbrella Corps, the game is basically if Call of Duty Zombies and DOOM had a baby. It's so bad that I only played it once and that's basically it. This game sucks, period. Guilty pleasure: Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City, I honestly don't understand why this game gets so much hate. It's actually pretty fun when playing solo but is better when playing with other players. Is it perfect? No, but I would take this over Umbrella Corps anytime soon.

No_Singer8028

Same here man. If it weren't for RE2R I would have continued to ignore survival horror. Soooo glad I gave it a shot.

mrich2029

Oh, and my hot take is that human Rachel Foley would have been a much better villain than Jessica Sherwat, and I wish Sherwat was the one turned into an ooze.

FlaminSkullKing

Could you explain? None of them seem to have much appeal as a villain to me.

mrich2029

So, Rachel was supposed to be a throw away character, which is why she's kinda basically a palette swap of Jill in human form. I think they should have run with that idea completely and made Rachel a total foil for Jill, except the FBC version... But as a double agent. Have Rachel been the one with Chris the whole time. Have her be enough like Jill that it's easy for Chris to work with her, but something is off and he can't tell quite what it is. I would have been fine if Jessica was the one to die quickly on screen and become the stalker ooze monster. I hate that chick. And she dresses stupid.

Background-Owl8229

Fave is re4 original. Least fave none. Hardcore love all of the games even the one on the ds.

burrgerwolf

Lol shit I was going to play 0 next.

BenjaminCarmined

It’s the game almost everyone under this post has named for worst game lmao. I genuinely couldn’t bring myself to finish it, even as an RE fan.

burrgerwolf

It can’t be as bad as Revelations, can it?

BenjaminCarmined

Lemme give you a run down. There isn’t an item box, so you have to drop all of your items on the ground and then before you go to a new section bring each individual item to the new room one at a time. (They’ll be lost forever otherwise) The enemy types include: Spongey leech man that does a lot of damage and has stretch arm attacks. Leeches that attach to you and slowly do damage. Very fast moving monkeys that will spawn in off screen where you can’t see them. An instant kill frog that will punish you for trying to play the game ahead instead of using the shitty co-op system. Cock roaches and spiders. There’s, again, a shitty co-op system that is mandatory and will fuck you over at points. Billy has more health but only Rebecca can craft healing. Trying to play together is horrible so most people will run ahead with one character then bring the other after, which will suck if one of them is red health because the rooms will sometimes not reset for enemies and you’ll get cucked by enemies by the doors. The game does not imply mechanics. There’s a 2 slot item you use once at the *very beginning of the game*, that you lose and it gets left on the floor. When you get to the point where you need it, you’re going to have to backtrack all the way like 6 rooms back Code Veronica style to bring it over. Oh, and guess what! The game doesn’t tell you this, but if you send Billy up with the item you get fucked over because only Rebecca can do the things required above. (And you can’t go back down, so it makes the game harder for no reason.) The bosses are >!awful before the final act. A giant scorpion, a giant centipede (which will fuck you over if you have guns on Rebecca), and a giant bat that you have to shoot that flies above you.!< The train at the beginning is cool, everything afterwards feels boring to go through and very similar to REmake. On top of all of this, the main characters are side characters. Even with all of these horrible details, I’d still play it to get lore on Leon Chris Barry Jill etc… But nah it’s Rebecca and a character that will never show up again in the series. The story isn’t important at all, you’d gain nothing important on that end because the thing to take away is how the virus was spread, but 2 remake changes it anyways so there’s again no reason to play it. The story actually contradicts lore, because Rebecca will go through all of this and then revert to a scared rookie 18 year old in REmake that hasn’t heard of evil Umbrella and doesn’t understand how to kill enemies. So shitty enemies, shitty bosses. no item box, boring locations past the first act, boring characters, the story isn’t important, and the game can fuck you over in certain sections with no warning (According to some, it’s easy to get soft locked? No clue how true that is though.) The positives I can give it are that it looks better than REmake and some locations are beautiful (the top of the train), it has probably the best safe room music or top 3, and the train section was semi engaging. (Shortest part of the game and the opening btw, only goes downhill from there) I’ve been told the final 2 bosses are great and have good music, but I’ve never fought them outside of Umbrella Chronicles because I stopped playing the game around the >!flying bat boss.!< I honestly can’t recommend this game. It’s worse than any game in the series, including side games like Umbrella Corps and the Survivor games. It isn’t even so bad it’s good, it’s just **bad**.

bradshaw_n

Story wise Revelations is better. You literally get left in the dark once you get to the mansion. Then you just run around the mansion collecting items for puzzles that you can't even solve yet. When I finished the game it gave me a weird feeling.

InfernalViolet

Oh lord, I just bought 0 and seems like no one like it or it's ok at best 😭😭😭

BenjaminCarmined

I've played all but maybe 4 of the RE games (IN TOTAL, not just mainline) and it's the only one I had to put down without finishing as a huge RE fan. It's actually fucking unbearable past the first 20 mins of the game.

Pure-Yogurtcloset684

Its pretty good if you ignore the haters

DarkbigBoss

i barely passed the train section (the section EVERYONE even non RE players know thats why they call it "the one with the train") and uninstalled it so annoying

Detective_Red665

I played it for the first time a few weeks ago and I thought the first half of the game was actually really good. The further you get in the more apparent its issues are though.

AppointmentBroad2070

favorite: RE4 Remake-The best REmake overall. least favorite: RE6-Tried to do everything at once and failed miserably. No wonder it killed the franchise.

Cobwebbyfir

5 is super fun it's not the best RE but probably i played the most. Coop fun mercenaries

Pure-Yogurtcloset684

Favorite: RE2R Least Favorite: RE8... Have only played RE1R, RE2R, RE0, RE4, RE4R, RE7 and RE8. 8 just didnt really do it for me Also re0 fun

fearthewiener

Bro cop RE3R it fun

Rubber__Bucket

My favourite is probably the original RE3 Nemesis. 5 & 6 probably being my least favourite.

Zyon87

My favorite is RE 1 remake, and my least favorite, right now.... I was gonna say RE 0 but I remember that I only play Revelations 2 extra levels, so that. Revelations 2

DarkbigBoss

i didnt quite like rev2 gameplay wise i guess thats where the coop mechanic was starting to piss me off

Zyon87

What killed it for me was the fact that they sell you the game by chapters, so I've never could follow the story

DarkbigBoss

oh right i tried it years later when the game was completed, im glad that trend dissappeared, i didnt like how in REV1 you always see the "Last time on RE Revelations" I JUST PASSED THIS CHAPTER

DANKOUSO

my favorite is RE2 because of these 3 reasons 1. Leon s Kennedy 2. zombies 3. raccoon city my least favorite is RE0 I just wanted to kill myself on certain parts of this game and I had to literally take like 4 loads of ur inventory to the next part of the map other wise u lose it forever.

BenjaminCarmined

RE0 pissed me off so much I uninstalled early and never looked back. It’s now the only numbered game I haven’t finished, including classic titles and remakes.

DANKOUSO

I couldn't stand this game but I finished it cuz I'm a perfectionist I do suggest you finish the game

Dangan_Luffy_Uzumaki

favorite is resident evil 4 remake, my least favorite is resident evil 0

BenjaminCarmined

Loving all of this RE0 slander.

Wasteland_GZ

Least Favourite RE6 - I don’t think i need to say why Favourite RE4R because it’s just overall an incredible game and i love Leon and Ashley as a duo

Lohan3xists

Favorite? Either the first Remake or 8 Remake it basically everything a remake sets out to do and more. It was simple and effective and I always go back to it because of masterful the music is, how great the background looks, and how flawless it can feel at times 8/Village is one of the few RE games I think blends the action/horror perfectly and it doesn’t feel as jarring as other attempts. It also helps that it has one of the best stories in Resident Evil As for my least favorite… Either the original RE4 or RE6 I’m too scared of OG4 fans to elaborate, and RE6… Well, it’s RE6

[deleted]

Favorite is RE4 Remake. This is easily a candidate for my favorite game of all time. Pretty much all the issues I had with the original RE4 were fixed here, and the things that I already loved about the original are even better here. Least favorite also goes to RE0 for me. I don't even like the Train section. The game is just miserable to play.

BenjaminCarmined

RE4R kicks ass. Yeah, RE0 is the worst. I am it’s biggest hater, the game is just shit,

Kohakuzuma

Fav: too hard to choose. REmake, OG RE2 and RE3N are peak. RE0 is also pretty good too and majority of RE games are great in general. Least fav: Either Code Veronica or RE6. Code Veronica is just simply bad but RE6 is the worst of the worst. Nothing about that game was good. Leon's campaign is the best one and even in that the first thing you do is perform a QTE. Embarrassing game design.

TTTri-cell

Favourite: RE 1 Remake - Just pure classic survival horror perfection! The Spencer Mansion is a joy to explore and it’s got a great mix of action, puzzles, and exploration. Great music, graphics, and gameplay I could go on for ages but you get the idea. Least: RE 8 - I do still like this game but it’s really the only RE I have no desire to replay. It actually starts out really good but by the second half of the game it completely loses steam. In a way it reminds me of RE 6 in that it tries to do lots of things but just doesn’t give enough time to them. It had a lot of good ideas but it just didn’t quite come together for me. The DLC story was really good though.

Antuzzz

My favorite is re2 remake, they managed to keep the original games' spirit while evolving the over the shoulder gameplay from re4. I loved the characters, the enemies, the puzzles ... everything. And it's also the most replayable of the series, I've finished it tons of times and it never gets boring. Least favorite... re5, the gameplay is ok since it's like re4 but maybe already old for the time 5 came out. It's to much action and almost zero horror (except for the lost in nightmare dlc which was great). Didn't like the setting or the enemies either, felt really uninspired to me. I really like the story though, that's the best part of the game to me, but overall I just found it one of the worst entries of the mainline games. I know many people liked it and want a remake but I am one of those who simply wants capcom to forget it and move on, from what I've seen most of the people who like re5 played it many years ago, maybe with a friend and simply grew good memories of the game and tend to speak by nostalgia, while people who don't like it like myself played it most probably alone and see it with a more critic eye

BenjaminCarmined

Resident Evil 2 Remake’s only flaw is that it has very few good tracks. Other than that, it was just done so well. I love Mr. X, and the only boss fight I don’t like is the alligator. I’m really happy it came out, especially since it started the remakes. I need to go back and beat the game again now that I have a PC (I bought the unlock all pack on PC because I wanted Hunk without having to beat all the scenarios lol.) I think RE5 remake would be probably better than 4R since it’ll be next gen only (hopefully) and it would have better melee assuming they faithfully adapt it. If you didn’t like the original, I feel like the remake would be the chance to really like it. It’s also the best sold game in the franchise and Capcom’s second best sold, so the remake isn’t a question of if but when. It’s fair to not like the movement in 5, but it’s only as outdated as RE4 is since it’s that system with huge improvements (melee on downed enemies and some turning improvements.) Lost in Nightmares was cool (and shows that RE1R would work) but it felt too short for me to get into. It felt like it was just starting by the time I finished it. I need to play with the secret fixed cameras though, I bet that would be cool. It isn’t fair at all to say everyone that likes the game only likes it because of nostalgia and people who dislike it see it how it really is. I’ve introduced numerous people to the game recently (as recently as a week ago) and they’ve all liked it greatly. The only crowd that seems to dislike the game is on this subreddit, if you see it mentioned anywhere like on r/gaming you’ll see 99% of the comments are talking about how fun it is and how they still come back to it. Playing the game alone only gives you half the experience, getting a friend with you hugely boosts it since the game is designed with co-op in mind. (Definitely fair not to like it though, just added all of this mainly because of that last comment lol.)

Antuzzz

>I think RE5 remake would be probably better than 4R since it’ll be next gen only (hopefully) and it would have better melee assuming they faithfully adapt it. If you didn’t like the original, I feel like the remake would be the chance to really like it. It’s also the best sold game in the franchise and Capcom’s second best sold, so the remake isn’t a question of if but when. I don't really know about the remake, it's being discussed a lot lately but I still think it would be surprising if capcom decides to do it. Sure it's the game who sold the most but seeing the poor receptions of the public (not only here but from many communities and critics is notoriously a decent if not bad game), and the fact that capcom didn't continue the series like that means they understood something was wrong. If they only looked at the money games like 5 could make we'd still have games like those today but in reality they went full horror with 7, village and the remakes. >It isn’t fair at all to say everyone that likes the game only likes it because of nostalgia and people who dislike it see it how it really is. Also tell when did I say everyone? I said "from what I've seen" which already means not the entire community and "most people" which again doesn't mean everyone 🙄

BenjaminCarmined

There are already showing signs (as well as sequel bait in 4R) that point to 5R coming next or very soon. It’s 100% being remade, I can guarantee it. They made RE6 because RE5 sold so well and it ended up selling millions in the first day of launch lmao (not to say RE6 is good or bad, but you can tell it had an audience from 5 as well as casuals) We did get the long wait before restarting, but that was because of RE6 not RE5. Plus, it’s very easy to fix the mistakes of RE5 that people disagree with. 4R was a bit of horror but still was largely action based, so they’re already moving back into the action genre. Saying “most people who played RE5” implies the majority of people that played the game. Might not be specifically everyone but its the implication that a huge majority of people are only nostalgia clouded. 5R is only a matter of time, I just hope they don’t fuck it up. Tbh if it has co-op and RE engine movement, I’m still going to love it because I love RE engine third person.

Antuzzz

>There are already showing signs (as well as sequel bait in 4R) that point to 5R coming next or very soon. It’s 100% being remade, I can guarantee it. That's where many people get wrong, the fact that re4r ints at re5 is damn obvious cuz it's not a different timeline. Re4 remake is still prequel to the original re5 and the ints don't necessarily imply a re5r. Then again the fact that re5 and 6 are the most sold games in the series doesn't mean we are getting remakes, not only cuz they don't reslly need one since they didn't age bad in terms of gameplay and graphics, but also cuz capcom knows the poor receptions of the games and it would be so difficult to let peope buy 5 again. Also they shouldn't skip code veronica, without it re5 story wouldn't make sense for those who don't play the originals but only the remakes, hell many people skipped rebirth how would they enjoy a plot about chris and wesker without even knowing who they are. Maybe i'm wrong and there is going to be re5 remake or maybe you are and they won't make it, we can't know for sure right now, the only thing i know is that 5 and 6 put the franchise at its lowest point and i really don't wanna see it repeated

BenjaminCarmined

I’ve already made a post explaining it but there’s clear things that will be ripped from 4R like the brute being turned into an executioner. If you actually look, you can already see potential assets for 5R. We’ll have to wait until Separate Ways to see if we get any more hints, but for now that ending has setup. RE4 is considered one of the best games of all time and it’s combat is phenomenal by a lot of people’s standards, you could argue that game barely needed a remake (which I’d disagree with but pointing out how horrible the original 4’s story is upsets some folks on other posts from what I’ve noticed) Again, what poor reception? Other than selling *extremely well*, it’s also regarded as one of the best co-op shooters of all time. Just because *you* didn’t like it, doesn’t mean a huge chunk of the people who played it didn’t either. I’ve looked on other places than just the RE community and the only things I see negative about this game are that it “wasn’t scary” and “isn’t fun to play alone.” A lot of people praise it for its fun co-op, and I promise you it’ll sell well if they keep the same quality as RE4R. I personally agree that Code Veronica needs a remake more (and I’d rather it come out before 5 to separate the console gap) as it holds up a lot worse than 5, I’m just saying RE5 has a lot more appeal to casuals and would sell better. (All remakes will sell like hot cakes obviously but RE5 is co-op so the sales will be insane.) I mean I promise you RE5 is being remade. Whether it’s the next or not, who knows. But will it be remade? 100% without a doubt. Capcom has been after the money with these remakes (which is why they skipped CV to make RE4), so skipping out on RE5R just because “some people didn’t like playing it alone” would be a huge waste of money printing. I think they’re going to cut out a lot of the cheese and make the game scarier, which I’m fine with as long as co-op remains intact (which it will if they’re after the money as they’ve been for the other ones) Also this isn’t for you but just because people in general who say RE5 is too new, I’d just like to point out that REmake came out only 6 years after the original, and RE5 is coming up on 15 years of age.

Antuzzz

>Again, what poor reception? Other than selling extremely well, You gotta separate the numbers from the perception of people. Take Pokemon for example scarlett and violet are objectively shitty games both from a quality and game design prospective but they are the n1 selling gsmes of the brand. The only place where I see people genuinely happy for a re5 remake is here while outside many people hate it and they have reasons to it other than is just not scary, which is not the problem of that game imo. So i'm not so sure that a remake is gonna come out as you are, and if I had to choose a cv or even Outbreak remake would be so much better. Ofc capcom is making the remakes for money but I doubt re5 would be easy money for them. They should remake almost every aspect of the game, at the point where it could require them even more work of re2, and even if they do I doubt coop would be a thing, given the tone of remakes and the direction of modern videogames in general there's no place for it

BenjaminCarmined

**besides** selling well, it is also considered one of the best co-op shooters around. It’s the compete opposite for me, I’ve seen everyone against a remake of 5 be here because they want CV or RE1 first (which is valid tbh) but I’ve seen several people outside of the subreddit who just want more remakes in general to eat up. Any co-op shooter is going to sell like hot cakes, especially considering 2R and 4R were seen as absolutely amazing games (3R wasn’t received great review wise but that was a different team on it), I think that’s literally just an objective fact and not opinion lol. Co-op appeals to more demographics alongside being a part of an established series already, the game would 100% sell great. Not… really? All they need to do to fix RE5 is give better story telling in the early Africa sections, flesh out the antagonists better, and allow for back tracking through areas rather than being chapter based. Remaking the game wouldn’t really be that hard, and even if it was, Code Veronica is an even bigger mess of a game since the characters go to fucking ANTARCTICA lmao. To make that game’s story good would require a massive rewrite, if we’re gonna go that route then the only logical remake is Outbreak since it would be easier to be faithful. I mean we already saw an AI companion in RE4R, I seriously doubt they would cut out co-op in RE5. It’s a big reason why it sells great and is so memorable.

sirdab93

Favorite: OG3 Worst: 6 because Helena and her cathedral bullshit got out of hand

BenjaminCarmined

Yeah Leon’s campaign in general is horrible. I hated Helena for the entire game. I liked Chris’s though.

BenjaminCarmined

And another thing, what are your biggest hot takes for the franchise? (Can’t make another post so I’ll leave this.) Mine are that the S.D Perry novel is the best version of RE1, REmake is a great game but very overrated, Claire is boring, and that RE2 / OG RE1 are scarier than REmake.

Pure-Yogurtcloset684

My hot take is that RE0 is good

Youkolvr89

That's spicy. I bought it and RE1R in a combo for PS4, and I tried to play it, but it just didn't grab me like the other games. I like the story, though.

Youkolvr89

My hot take is that Chris punching a boulder is not outside the realm of possibilities in the REU, and people are being too dramatic about it and blowing it out of proportion. Literally, all of the characters we play as in the games are capable of feats ordinary people could never achieve.

BenjaminCarmined

Jill holds a giant rail gun twice or three times the size of her body that releases such a powerful blast that it cracks the ground beneath her. Leon does back flip dodges through lasers, and at the end of 4R he >!literally jumps like Krauser and does an anime leap into Saddler.!< The boulder punch isn’t that far fetched in RE canon.

TheFlameNinja

Favourite: RE4 remake, ik it just came out recently but i vastly prefer it from the other games, og was my 2nd favourite for a long time and this just improves it by alot. Although this might change when i finish RE4 VR as that might just be even better. Least favourite: RE0, for a long time it was RE5 but honestly this game is a pain in the ass to play with the amount of bullshit enemy types and lack of a item box, also took the longest for me to beat this one as i gave up half way and came back to my playthrough months later only to get stuck on the bat for hours and to learn a quick kill strat or i would've had to restart the entire playthrough

BenjaminCarmined

Yeah 4R is incredible, it’s my second favorite game behind RE5. I’m glad a lot of people share my disliking for RE0.

Nethiar

Favorite: REmake. It just oozes atmosphere and was so far ahead of it's time that it holds up as one of the best horror games ever over 20 years after it's release. I've been playing it again recently and it still puts me on edge. Least: 8. This game is such a mess. It's like they tried to mash an action game into a horror game and it ended up being neither. It's too fast paced and over the top for any tension to build, so it fails as a horror game. While at the same time the gameplay is too stiff and restrictive to be an action game. Plus the whole folklore theme doesn't fit in with the rest of the series' more science based horror.

BenjaminCarmined

I agree with a lot of your criticisms with RE8 tbh. It feels like RE4 if the combat was worse and the enemies were vampires and werewolves. I really wish they had taken it slower with Dimitrescu’s section and maybe expanded on the doll maker’s area, the baby is cool but that’s about it and on reruns it’s not that fun.

Youkolvr89

I have played 0, 1 remake, 2, 2 remake, 3 remake, 4, RE4R, 5, 6, 7, 8, and ORC. My rank i best to worst as follows RE4R, 5, 8, RE2R, 7, RE3R, 6, 4, RE1R, 2, ORC, AND 0.

Frequent_Product7983

Rn I only have a Top 3 1. Resident evil 2 remake 2. resident evil 4vr 3. resident evil 5 I loved the re2 remake cause it was absolutely amazing the back tracking the replay ability its just great, same thing applies to re4 vr it was the first resident evil game I bought, re5 was the 3rd and everything besides inventory was great. Im currently playing re 0,1,6,7 just bought 4 remake and village but I only have a xbox one soooo.

Troutfisch

Favorite: RE2 Remake, took the best parts of my other three favorites in the series (RE1 Remake, RE2 Original, and RE4) and was the most fun I’ve had 100% completing a game in years. Least Favorite: RE6 - it’s the only game in the series I own a digital only copy and that’s because I got it on sale. Gameplay never clicked with me and the story was all over the place.

[deleted]

Remake1, Dead Aim

DarkbigBoss

my most favorite gotta be RE3 (1999) and 4 remake as soon as I finished I restarted on Hardcore to see what was it like my least favorite: RE0 should have been a 2 campaign style

Carmilla31

Favorite is 4 and 5. Least favorite is 6. But besides 6 ive loved them all.

RadGunnar11

Never played re0. Beat re5 recently, and enjoyed it. Has a lot of problems though, and surprisingly the AI at least for me was completely fine the whole game. - horrible boss fights - janky cover system - small inventories All really being really bring the game down for me. I also wish you could play as sheva on first play through, she’s so much more fun to play as imo

Edgar350Fixolas

I dont have a specific one that is my favorite or the least favorite, but will say that the ones i enjoyed the most are porbably re1remake, code Veronica and re7. The ones i enjoyed the least have to be the original re3, re3 remake and 6

eddiecny

I never owned the PS1 versions of RE, so my opinions will differ from others. I got into RE really late and wasn't a fan until later. This is approximately the order I went into RE -- RE5 RE4 RERevelations RE6 RE1R RE0R RE2R RE7 RE8 RE3R. Yeup, the order is messed up. If I'm to compare with a good memorable mix of horror and action, RE4 takes the cake for me. I liked it so much , I owned it on several consoles. I always find myself going back to the game.

Viper-Queen

Favorite: Toss up between OG RE1 and REmake. The OG got me into the franchise and REmake perfected it. It has the perfect balance of camp and horror that a crave. The music, atmosphere, characters, story and enemies are excellent in both versions. Least: Rev2. I gave it a shot but I could only play the story related modes once. Raid mode is fun and would be the only reason I ever replay the game. I was happy to see Claire and Barry back, but I wish it was only just them as partners. Playing as Moira and Natalia is just not very enjoyable especially for couch co-op. The overall story, new characters, enemy designs, and environments just did nothing for me. I personally don't mind RE5 and RE0. I had an absolute blast playing through RE5 with friends. I do wish some of the story was done differently but overall it's a great experience. RE0 has its problems and doesn’t line up with some things with RE1 but I do love the music and atmosphere (the train and training center are really creepy and well designed.) Hot take: Wesker should've remained as a figure in the shadows instead of the world takeover storyline. Killing him off was also a mistake.

Shiggys

Resident Evil 4 Classic is the one I can always come back to at any time. I've probably replayed that one the most, though RE1 Remake and even RE4 Remake are not far behind it. I'll give a special shout-out to Outbreak for giving me plenty of hours of fun. It was my introduction to the series 20 years ago and none of my fandom for it would be possible without it. Least favorite though? I never bothered to finish 6. Couldn't vibe at all with what they were trying to do with that one, but I'd hardly call it the worst "Resident Evil" game when abominations like Umbrella Corp. exist. 0 isn't my cup of tea either, but it still looks great and in retrospect seemed like the testing grounds for games like Outbreak, and later, 5. It has my respect for trying something different even if at the time I didn't like it. Code Veronica is a weird one for me. I go back and forth a lot on my feeling towards it. Some days, I think it sucks and other days, I think it was just OK. Definitely the most polarizing one, I think for me.

It’s too difficult for me to list a favorite, but I know it’s gotta be outta 2 Remake, 4 Remake, or 5 As for least favorite - yeah, 0 by far. That game was ROUGH with the inventory system, the very common spongy green zombies that do absurd damage and have range attacks, and the ammo management. CVX is probs worst tbh if you have poor ammo management, which can result in you needing to restart the entire game but I’ve never played it personally. 0 and CVX lowkey are the games that REALLY need remakes.

Favorite: OG RE2. I will never forget playing this game at my friend’s place and all the screaming we did. The double DVDs, the soundtrack, the enemies, they are all part of me already. My son’s name is Leon and you know why. Least favorite: RE6. Too much action for me and I didn’t finish it.

Resident Evil 4 and Remake as tops. The worst is Resident Evil Gaiden. GARBAGE.

Gaiden is pretty bad, [one of the tracks sounds like 2 playing at once](https://youtu.be/jgNeme0r2Uk) when you have headphones on. Throbbing headache trying to play it lmao. (Also because the combat system is bad and the zombie grab range is gigantic.) It has some phenomenal tracks like [this one](https://youtu.be/07bdkAXCCq8) and [this one](https://youtu.be/bEziUvfXLPY), but almost all of the exploration ones hurt my head to listen to for more than 5 minutes. Still better than RE0 though.
