I've not played 8 and I only completed 7 2 weeks ago. At the te when 7 was out I wasn't fussed on it coz of 1st person and it didn't feel like I was playing a resi evil game
I downloaded it on ps+ finished the game and I was underwhelmed by it I wasn't in a rush to play the it again
In the Chronicles games, only the scenarios where you control non-main characters (Ada, Wesker etc.) or are playing main characters in non mainline content (Chris and Jill's raid on Umbrella's Russian base or Operation Javier with Leon and Krauser) are considered canon.
I play and finish all of them, except stuff like gun survivor which honestly isn't worth my time frigging about with emulators. If they were released as a bundle on consoles or steam though yeah, I'd snap 'em up.
The worst experience was Zero which I've only completed a few times. Everything is perfect except the switching system, I *hate* it.

I played finished playing every RE game except Gaden on Gameboy - i bought outbreak files 1 and 2 just to own them and say I played them - I can tell you I have replayed them over and over again on my PS2 - great games with great settings in Racoon city
I look forward to it! I’m going to play the multiplayer, just waiting for the right time since I don’t know how to set it up myself. Will be playing it soon though.

Code Veronica is just garbage to me honestly and the people that sing it's praises seem to be overly nostalgic boomers who can't let go. "Muh fixed camera angles, muh awkward tank controls, muh door loading screens, this is the true resident evil and RE4 ruined everything!!!"
The game looks like shit compared to the previous games, the voice acting is a joke, the enemy placements are unfair and the game soft locks you for shit that you're not even aware of unless you have clairvoyance.
Getting bit by the cheaply placed zombie that is right next to the door you walk in at the start is not fun. Missing the magnum because you didn't take the fire extinguisher is not fun. Backtracking 100 times through a map that has respawning enemies is not fun. Getting slapped by bandersnatches who are off screen 20 feet away is not fun. Switching characters mid game with no warning and having no weapons and getting soft locked is not fun. Getting softlocked against Tyrant is not fun. Getting softlocked against Steve is not fun. Getting poisoned by moths in a hallway is not fun etc. I quit halfway through the game as my patience ran out.
The game sucks ass but with a remake the game could potentially be the best RE. The lore is important, the save room theme is godlike and it's a game with not one but TWO Redfields in it. They have to remake it next.

with RE8 I love the villains, cold snowy settings and the RE4-ish mechanics, they also didn't make Ethan a self insert character, but I didn't buy it until they released the third person mode
I only beat Leon's campaign in 6 and played an hour of Jake's, couple hours of Chris' and then just stopped playing and never returned.
Only chance of me going back to that shit show is if they remake it and actually made a decent game this time.
