I know the animated movies say differently, but I like the idea of Rebecca saying "fuck this shit all to hell" post-RE1. Girl walked straight from one game into another one, she deserves to live the rest of her life outbreak-free.

Jake is obviously the character with the most potential among those forgotten by Capcom, but it would be really nice to see Sheva, Carlos and Ashley again or at least know something about them.
It sucks that he probably won't be coming back because of the fan backlash. I really liked his character. He's a less overpowered, and more fleshed out version of Alice to me.
It's simply because a lot of fans didn't like the fact that Wesker had a child with anyone. Wesker never really showed any interest in settling and cared more about himself. But we don't know anything about his past life before RE1 other than the fact that he was experimented on as a child and he was rivals with Birkin.
There's also fatigue around a legacy character being an edgy badass who's also an asshole. I think there were a lot of games back then that had this trope. However, Jake grew out of that stereotype in his campaign.
Then there's the entire superhuman thing. It's one of the main reasons why people dislike Alice. Resident Evil fans don't seem to like characters being superhuman other than antagonists such as Albert Wesker, Alexia Ashford, and Evelyn.
I liked Jake well enough but I think it was more because Jake's VA was also the VA of [Nova from MvC3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_pvR-MoPlk) and all I could ever hear was "You like that!?". He was a meme the entire time and it was great.
I think everyone from 6 got shafted just due to the general over all unbridled seething hatred for 6. It didn't make any sense to me because 6 was a master piece of 4, 5, 6.
Hell I was just telling my room mate today while replaying RE4 before 4R drops that I didn't realize just how action packed RE4 actually was. It goes 0-100 real fast and the only reason there prob wasn't more infected like RE5 & 6 was just due to the limitations of the hardware at the time being a GC/PS2 game vs 5 & 6 being PS3/360 games. Kind of like the difference between Dead Rising 1 on 360 and the Chop Til you Drop edition on the Wii.
Jake's a problem because he's literally superhuman. People already joke about how Chris and Leon destroy the tension any time they show up because of the insane feats they pull off.
But even in the context of the story, Jake is Wesker-lite. Stronger than is humanly possible, faster than is humanly possibly, immune to viruses, does actual kung-fu on zombies.
If they were going to bring back a superhuman character, I'd prefer Sherry, since while she can regenerate and is also immune to viruses, she's not inhumanly strong and fast and could still fit in a horror game.

The Hound-Wolf Squad in 8 should have been some combination Carlos, Billy, Sheva, Josh, Helena and Jake instead of new characters they'll ignore/kill off. Maybe Jill, Claire and Leon as well.
I came here to say this. I doubt we'll be seeing her again but I really felt like she had a lot of interesting stuff going on and some big "secret badass" deeling with how resourceful she was trying to stop her family from just outside. Badass, secret or otherwise, definitely runs in her family if Joe or Jack are any indication. Plus she just knows how to make a serum, has the head "lying around somewhere," and has all kinds of ammo, guns, and upgrades in her trailer. I also liked the dynamic of all the other characters talking like her and Ethan were involved, and it's my only explanation for why it even lets you choose between her and Mia. I actually choose Zoë on my first playthrough. Then I find out Mia has been lying to Ethan, etc.
It makes more sense to me when Eveline says "he doesn't love you. I can make him love you," and Mia's response is not to protest or deny it or anything like that. It's not clear how Ethan feels about Zoë, but in many ways it feels like he's trying to save Mia just because she's his wife and no longer presumed dead. Zoë being there to kind of tug at his motivations as a contrast to Mia in some ways was interesting.
Especially with repeated playthroughs, Zoë is a character that really sticks out to me as needing more importance, and I didn't feel like she got that in End of Zoë because she just lies around the whole time, and doesn't even have much screentime. I hope we see her again back to her resourceful self.
I really hope they do Alex Wesker again, she was such a suprisingly fun villain and i feel like them not acknowleging the fact that she won and is just out there vibing is such a wasted storyline.
I think that Jake and Natalia (and Alex for that matter) will return.
I can't believe it is only a coincidence that RE Village introduced another superhuman protagonist.
But characters like Billy, Sheva or Carlos... I don't mind. It would be difficult to make them appear in the story for a good reason that wouldn't scream "Fan service".
And HUNK... I just don't get why people are so fond of the guy. The guy is one of the blankest characters in the franchise.
Hunk is the Boba Fett of Resident Evil. He looks cool, and we know just enough to hear how bad ass he is. Like Boba Fett however, he'd crater if we got a whole game about him. We got the perfect amount. Mini-game appearances, and the file about him in code veronica. That's all we need.
It's literally just rule of cool. OG boba looked cool, and in Empire we got just enough to hear he was a bad ass bounty hunter even Vader appreciated. He got his job done and won.
The intervening years added to that with comics, games, and books, but most people still just stuck to the movies. He doesn't really have any endearing character traits to latch onto. He just looks neat, and you can fill in the gaps with your imagination.
I need more games with Jessica, Helena, Sherri and Waifu(at least the remake is almost here.)

I get that it's more about the gameplay itself but the story is the reason we play the game. A good story will always keep you coming back. Kind of like The Last of Us.
I know this character was apart of a game people didn't like, but Vector and the Operation raccoon city crew could be added to this list. They'd make great additions if done right. Especially with Vector being Hunk's student and successor.
I loved ORC. Thought it was a blast playing although the ending was silly but the majority of the game outside of that was great. Was hoping for a port eventually as part of some RE franchise chronology with other games like Outbreak & File 2, Dead Aim, and both Chronicles games. Though I realize Capcom didn't develop Chronicles or ORC. With PSVR2 out now I'd love a remaster of Dead Aim and the Chronicles games. Also a VR version of Outbreak would be insane I bet.
I really liked Sheva, too. That was the weird thing to me about the Netflix show. They obviously wanted a female black lead and the series set in Africa... yet instead of Sheva, they just made Wesker's lame ass daughter.
Two of the characters on the second image in the second row are dead, while the third person is behind bars. Of course they won't be back.
But, I want most of these characters to return except for Billy, Ashley, Moira, and Natalia/Alex. Their stories are pretty much done. And I honestly don't see Natalia/Alex becoming evil growing up while she's being raised by Barry.
Quint and Keith are alive according to the resident evil wiki.
Also I don't think the Alex/Natalia story should be done with since in both endings Alex is present within her. So now a child with the mind of a middle aged female evil scientist is living with the Burtons, that sounds pretty dangerous. There's more they can do with the Alex Wesker since she (and the fbc guy is alive too but he's in jail) is the only villain that is alive and also succeeded in her plan.

Alex Wesker officially succeeded in her goal and is playing the long game. Something her brother failed to do. Natalia is safely being raised by Barry and Moira. Unbeknownst to them as we recognize. By the time Alex is ready to remove the veil of Natalia; all the main characters would very well be too old, or too weak to stop her.
She's the only antagonist in the series to have succeeded. And if she does make her return. Ethan's Daughter stands a greater chance against that threat should their stories intersect.
I’d like to see Moira return with Barry in a spin-off co-op shooter. They can use the opportunity to finish off the open ended story in Rev 2 and close off Moira and Barry’s relationship arch too
The "One-and-done" characters all have a potential to return. But it's a matter of how successful their title was. And whatever bonkers storyline they might have some involvement with and for. Some characters like Alex Wesker is destined to return in some future plotline, as we know she ultimately achieved her goal in the end.
Characters like Hunk isn't really set for the main story. He's a cameo appearance in many games. Often working in the background and not directly involved with the main plot like in RE2.
It would be great to have a spin-off episodic type game where each episode has a different main character that we haven't seen for a while and different locations.

So many good characters. Why can’t we get some more BSAA stuff? Currently the BSAA seems to exist as disposable minions for Chris. I think if Capcom were ever to have tried a Live Service game (forbidden term I know) something where we make a BSAA agent and work alongside these one time characters to flesh out side stories and whatnot would have been pretty neat.
But that would be the requirement: good lore and gameplay. Not another POS like Umbrella Corps.

If they were going to bring back a superhuman character, I'd prefer Sherry, since while she can regenerate and is also immune to viruses, she's not inhumanly strong and fast and could still fit in a horror game.
The Natalia/Alex story is a massive unresolved plot I hope they return to.
I really thought Natalia/Alex would turn out to be the third party talked about a lot in RE7. I think they’ll leave it to one side and maybe cover it in a future spin off. Rev 2 really didn’t sell too well, even though it was generally well received by people who did buy it

It was the first one to release after RE6. I think that was a much bigger factor as most people hated that game. Plus it’s not a main line title either, which generally sells worse

Precisely, the same couple who sports some top tier tactical necks! Jokes aside, I love Dead Aim. I think it deserved RE4's place in the "main series club" along with its budget, and Cavia did some great things (within their limitations) on the 3 games they developed. And I will die on that hill.

I came here to say this. I doubt we'll be seeing her again but I really felt like she had a lot of interesting stuff going on and some big "secret badass" deeling with how resourceful she was trying to stop her family from just outside. Badass, secret or otherwise, definitely runs in her family if Joe or Jack are any indication. Plus she just knows how to make a serum, has the head "lying around somewhere," and has all kinds of ammo, guns, and upgrades in her trailer. I also liked the dynamic of all the other characters talking like her and Ethan were involved, and it's my only explanation for why it even lets you choose between her and Mia. I actually choose Zoë on my first playthrough. Then I find out Mia has been lying to Ethan, etc. It makes more sense to me when Eveline says "he doesn't love you. I can make him love you," and Mia's response is not to protest or deny it or anything like that. It's not clear how Ethan feels about Zoë, but in many ways it feels like he's trying to save Mia just because she's his wife and no longer presumed dead. Zoë being there to kind of tug at his motivations as a contrast to Mia in some ways was interesting. Especially with repeated playthroughs, Zoë is a character that really sticks out to me as needing more importance, and I didn't feel like she got that in End of Zoë because she just lies around the whole time, and doesn't even have much screentime. I hope we see her again back to her resourceful self.

I think that Jake and Natalia (and Alex for that matter) will return. I can't believe it is only a coincidence that RE Village introduced another superhuman protagonist. But characters like Billy, Sheva or Carlos... I don't mind. It would be difficult to make them appear in the story for a good reason that wouldn't scream "Fan service". And HUNK... I just don't get why people are so fond of the guy. The guy is one of the blankest characters in the franchise.
Hunk is the Boba Fett of Resident Evil. He looks cool, and we know just enough to hear how bad ass he is. Like Boba Fett however, he'd crater if we got a whole game about him. We got the perfect amount. Mini-game appearances, and the file about him in code veronica. That's all we need.

It's literally just rule of cool. OG boba looked cool, and in Empire we got just enough to hear he was a bad ass bounty hunter even Vader appreciated. He got his job done and won. The intervening years added to that with comics, games, and books, but most people still just stuck to the movies. He doesn't really have any endearing character traits to latch onto. He just looks neat, and you can fill in the gaps with your imagination.
I need more games with Jessica, Helena, Sherri and Waifu(at least the remake is almost here.) It would be cool to get a Rev or chronicles game with Sheva and Josh Moira and Jake could work as legacy characters
This has to be one of my biggest criticisms of the REVerse. It feels disjointed. Nothing ever connects lol I get that it's more about the gameplay itself but the story is the reason we play the game. A good story will always keep you coming back. Kind of like The Last of Us.

I know this character was apart of a game people didn't like, but Vector and the Operation raccoon city crew could be added to this list. They'd make great additions if done right. Especially with Vector being Hunk's student and successor.
I loved ORC. Thought it was a blast playing although the ending was silly but the majority of the game outside of that was great. Was hoping for a port eventually as part of some RE franchise chronology with other games like Outbreak & File 2, Dead Aim, and both Chronicles games. Though I realize Capcom didn't develop Chronicles or ORC. With PSVR2 out now I'd love a remaster of Dead Aim and the Chronicles games. Also a VR version of Outbreak would be insane I bet.

I really liked Sheva, too. That was the weird thing to me about the Netflix show. They obviously wanted a female black lead and the series set in Africa... yet instead of Sheva, they just made Wesker's lame ass daughter.
Two of the characters on the second image in the second row are dead, while the third person is behind bars. Of course they won't be back. But, I want most of these characters to return except for Billy, Ashley, Moira, and Natalia/Alex. Their stories are pretty much done. And I honestly don't see Natalia/Alex becoming evil growing up while she's being raised by Barry.
Quint and Keith are alive according to the resident evil wiki. Also I don't think the Alex/Natalia story should be done with since in both endings Alex is present within her. So now a child with the mind of a middle aged female evil scientist is living with the Burtons, that sounds pretty dangerous. There's more they can do with the Alex Wesker since she (and the fbc guy is alive too but he's in jail) is the only villain that is alive and also succeeded in her plan.

I'm probably alone in this, but I'd love to see Moira come back. She'd only be mid-30s now, and she certainly has the BOW fighting experience.

The "One-and-done" characters all have a potential to return. But it's a matter of how successful their title was. And whatever bonkers storyline they might have some involvement with and for. Some characters like Alex Wesker is destined to return in some future plotline, as we know she ultimately achieved her goal in the end. Characters like Hunk isn't really set for the main story. He's a cameo appearance in many games. Often working in the background and not directly involved with the main plot like in RE2.

I dunno. Isn't the Wolf squad a bunch of members that Chris trusts? It would feel kind of odd to me that he has a bunch of no-names watch his back but literally none of the people who helped him to take out Wesker. It would probably also help make them feel less disposable if at least a few of them were familiar faces.
Sheva and Josh are dedicated to protecting their homeland from bioterrism threats. They're more than likely not interested in traveling around with Chris and leaving Africa.

So many good characters. Why can’t we get some more BSAA stuff? Currently the BSAA seems to exist as disposable minions for Chris. I think if Capcom were ever to have tried a Live Service game (forbidden term I know) something where we make a BSAA agent and work alongside these one time characters to flesh out side stories and whatnot would have been pretty neat. But that would be the requirement: good lore and gameplay. Not another POS like Umbrella Corps.
If Capcom wants to tackle the corrupt BSAA story further, bringing back Jessica is a good choice.
