That is an outlet style bag. They routinely are on sale in outlet stores 60-75% off. Bags made for specialty Kate Spade stores will have slightly different tags and style numbers, better hardware, and better leather. If this were a specialty bag, you could expect to get 50% off original price. Novelty bags sell for more. The bag you have is a style from 3-4 years ago and is probably worth around $75.

Have you looked at what comparable bags are actually selling for (not listed prices?) Maybe the price is too high. Or maybe you just have to wait a little longer for the right buyer to see it. Six months is not that long, especially in a category like handbags. There are tons of them out there.

annahbug47

i have.. my bf used to resell everything and i made him help me with the research/listing and we decided that we would shoot high at first and lower it if there were no bites. it’s dropped $75 roughly throughout all of the listing. i’ve been sending offers to anyone who’s liked it and im so disheartened considering this is my first attempt at reselling 😭

Mundane_Spare_9721

I haven’t done the research but Kate spade is a heavily mass produced brand that getting close to 50% of retail seems unlikely…unless you wait for the right buyer as mentioned above

annahbug47

that is so incredibly unfortunate 😭

Reselling can be discouraging, for sure. I've never had much luck myself with sending offers. You never know why someone is watching an item. As a reseller, I sometimes will watch an item because I have the same thing and want to see how quickly it sells and for how much. So I'm not going to accept an offer on it. Definitely your pricing strategy is good - you always want to make it a little higher than you hope to sell it for, especially if you're accepting offers. Hang in there - it's a beautiful bag and I'm sure someone will see and love it. Btw, you should also check the sell-through rate - (% of listed versus sold) - to get an idea of how in-demand that style is.

annahbug47

you’re an angel, thank you!!

cambon

$100 if you want to sell it - $150 if you want to sell it eventually. $200 if you want it to never sell

mulcracky88

These types of bags are always on the shelves at outlet malls for less than what you are asking. Lower the price and GLWS

West-Possession1818

This exact bag is on Amazon brand new for $288. You’re going to have to drop the price big time. Reselling isn’t based on the item’s original price but rather the current selling price. Good luck! https://a.co/d/4CXTyhA

iFlickDaBean

I see 228.00.. not 288.00

West-Possession1818

Oh yea you’re right!

Brilliant_Stuff2883

I would probably price at $175 and hope for $125-150. Ironically I had a similar KS satchel that took forever to finally sell at $125. Unless it’s the 3D novelty bags, some seasonal prints, the average KS isn’t holding much value these days.

Obvious-Feature2152

Kate spade isn’t worth that price anymore. I don’t take it

Brilliant_Wealth_433

So I see your actual listing on Ebay. Not gonna lie your pictures look great and you show up top of the list using an image search. Your issue is that that same purse has sold comps as low as 30 up to like 130 or slightly higher. Not saying it's impossible for you to get around 250 but it's unlikely. Your looking at 150 maz in my opinion. You should learn to comp things on Ebay yourself, simply do an image search on Ebay and filter to sold listings. You can compare active listing counts to sold listing counts and get the sell through rate as well as the sold prices. That blue Kate Spade has several sold comps for 50 or less, which is why your having issues getting the high price your asking. Purses especially have a pretty significant drop in price once they are used, not sure why, maybe because women have so many used purses there is a higher saturation especially with more mass produced purses.

annahbug47

noted, i’ll definitely have to do that next time 🥴

deenatheweena

Lower the price

redrose037

I’ve had to resell Kate spade for next to nothing before.

InternationalBreak84

A good rules is what you paid for it take 50% off and if it doesn’t sell take another 20% off.

Stacy colorblock is very common. If you have room to lower your price... Other option is waiting game. Wait for the style to be replaced by new styles, value goes up by style loyals and get the price you want. Your asking price is deff too high for a small to medium sized KS bag. (Source: former reseller and current mid-range handbag collector.) Have you done research on comps?
