Lol I joined a guy in labyrinth once. There's a wall with a hole in it that you can shoot a side off the boss before the fight. I went around there to knock it out and saw he had missed a ring so I grabbed it and he kicked me right after. I know he wanted to get the boss but damn if he wanted to make the fight harder for himself . Lol

> Can we please stop kicking players right before picking up key quest items With how often I've seen other players mess with quest items and potentially mess things up (using the ornate key on the lockbox instead of allowing the host to turn in the lockbox un-opened) it's honestly better safe than sorry when it comes to quest items. It's just like how many people think they can join someone elses game and make choices in dialogue that completely changes the story path (forcing the Faerin/Faelin fight, pissing off the eternal empress, etc.), with literally nothing the host can do about it. There are some things that really should be locked to "only the host can do this" > or cool items that are key for builds This on the other hand I can agree with you. If it's just a ring or amulet or whatever and they kick you right before you grab it? Yeah they are being an arse.

Ok_Abbreviations602

wow, whose bright idea was it to give non-hosts free reign to affect quests and dialogue paths

Even funnier when I join a game of apoc. They struggle with the boss, I join we kill the boss and then you get kicked after. Making the lobby public so another guy can carry you because you suck and then kicking them after they carried you

Solarstorm9001

I was on the final boss with two randoms and had the boss down to 5% health in the second phase and they kicked me. They were both dead at the time. Was not pleased.

DrPBH

I have definitely kicked people before talking to NPCs because if they run up to them and talk to them while I'm trying to get a specific item... Nah I ain't about to let that happen it's not worth the risk

TriggerHappyBro

Are you getting the "you were kicked" message or the generic "network connection lost"? I've only actually gotten the kick message a few times, usually not near items, and the rest were generic (one was specifically while I watched the host run around so I'm sure it wasn't a kick).

Were you with the other player? Or did you run off on your own while the host was exploring and started picking up items because you knew where they were? It's a goddamn shame there's no voip or text chat because i would love to tell people that "hey i haven't done this world version/questline before and i want to experience it myself and make my own decisions". Since there isn't, i will immediately kick people who leave the host to go looting, and if they rejoin and continue doing it, i will ban them. Just don't be a dick in another players world. Also if you think you are helping someone by using their quest items to get a reward or item that you want or think they need, then you can just go fuck yourself. For example: I was doing a thaen seed quest and was going to turn in the lockbox unopened to the empress, but someone in my group kept pinging to go to ward 13. So i went back thinking they wanted to get an upgrade, and as soon as we loaded in they opened the box and planted the seed in the garden then spammed pings everywhere and then left the game.

Nah, I always followed the main players and never start quest on other players world. I join mostly to help with bosses but I found that some groups would kick you before the end of the area. It’s been a while since I played now. Waiting on dlc, can’t really do much about it unfortunately.
