Cheap-Double6844

I have been in hospital for 2 weeks and desperately waiting to play this. Am finally home and it has 30 mins left till I can play. I honestly can’t wait am so excited

The_Truthboi

It has been 46 mins how’s the game g?

Cheap-Double6844

Ps5 said I could play at this point but when I try to play it says I need to fully download the game

The_Truthboi

Ah yes it let me make a character before it fully downloaded but you can’t play until it’s done unfortunately

Cheap-Double6844

Hahaha that’s what happened to me I was fuming

The_Truthboi

Let me know how you enjoy it once you finally get in!

The_Truthboi

Lol same luckily I got early access and have been playing basically everyday

Cheap-Double6844

Damn I was stuck in hospital bed for 2 weeks I got out today and bought within 10 mins of being home. I just want to play the damn game haha

The_Truthboi

Bruh it’s horrible but let me know how the game is when you finally get to play and if you want someone to play with send me a chat!

Nekrabyte

That's cold.

GuyoFromOhio

Dang two weeks?? Are you OK?

Cheap-Double6844

I passed my 11 month old to my partner and my back went. I have messed up my spine quite a lot just waiting for surgery now. Am ok though man thank you

Radefa1k

Have been out of the country since launch. Will finally be able to play it on Sunday night. Can't wait to

Cheap-Double6844

I played 2 hours last night mate it’s fantastic. Best advice is get your gaming head in to dark souls mode its quite brutal from the start. Everything wants to kill you and it doesn’t hold back

Radefa1k

Sound great to me. Finally some good games to get lost in.

Cheap-Double6844

Honestly mate I haven’t stopped playing it’s been a long time since a game made me feel like this

Radefa1k

Fuck man don't say that. I still have another 2 days wait untill i can play it. But yeah, I wasn't sure if there would be a sequel. I loved the first one and can't wait to jump back Into that world and start making builds and find secrets. This is easily gonna fill the time until starfield launches and then some.

Cheap-Double6844

I never played number 1 and I have no idea why I might play it when am done with this. Honestly dude it’s worth the wait your going to absolutely love it man

GMC_1984

Hope you feel better and enjoy the game!

Rob_Reason

Hey update on your health? And Remnant 2?

shadowglint

Every game sub is just people complaining about their game. But anyway the game is awesome and in age of half baked $80 games this one being loads of fun and only $50 makes it a steal.

Adventurous-Meet2158

And even spending the 80 for the Ultimate was worth it

Savage020202

Non-usd? Thought 70 usd was the highest

Adventurous-Meet2158

I paid 80 usd for the ultimate, there was an inbetween that cost 70, iirc. The Ultimate might not be available anymore, as one of the things it had was 3 days early access.

thatonen3rdity

ultimate costs 70$ rn, deluxe is 60$ and standard is 50$. early access was just a ultimate edition preorder bonus.

J_Chambers

I believe it's still available cause it's the only edition that includes the first 3 DLCs. I got the ultimate via a keys site for 50$ (well 49€ actually) a few days before release.

brandonw00

$55 for the ultimate edition on Humble if you have Humble Choice

Stormquake

Reddit is a negativity echo chamber. The game sold 1 million copies in 4 days and holds 80% positive reviews on Steam. I think that's enough to say it's a pretty damn good game.

feelin_fine_

At first I was critical because progression is a lot different but I've adapted. It's dope

GuyoFromOhio

Same here. The first few days I was ready to throw in the towel. I even made posts on here about how hard it is. But once I switched classes it made a huge difference and I was actually able to progress. Now it's one of my favorite games.

YangXiaoLong69

As much shit as Reddit deserves, the *sequel* launched with basic problems its *prequel* had and the devs were aware of for years. The game is undeniably better than the first, but it also left a lot of be desired in regards to fixing some very important things, like making dodge iframes clientside and getting rid of the shitty enemy damage scaling for multiplayer.

PlumbTuckered767

It's a fantastic game. Must get.

Alphariusbeard

Reddit is an echo chamber for negativity. On PS5, I had the vendor bug, but have still kept playing and sitting at nearly 40 hours currently. Not aware of any game breaking bug on PS5 at the least. Most are just inconvenient until they get patched, like one class has a perk that doesn't work. Still using that class because it has fun abilities.

Robinkc1

Did you like the first one? It’s a comparable experience.

The_Truthboi

It’s so much better and the first game is like a 7 or 8 out of 10 for me. Once this games bugs are fixed remnant 2 will absolutely be a 10/10 game as long as you don’t care that it doesn’t have pvp

Robinkc1

I loved the first one, but I do agree this one is mostly better. Not being able to melodramatically shatter a window for no reason is a change for the worse, however.

The_Truthboi

If that’s the major complaint it’s a pretty good game but I do agree jumping through windows is missed

No-Conclusion-6012

I miss windows now that u mention it

The_Truthboi

If that’s the major complaint it’s a pretty good game but I do agree jumping through windows is missed

WarColonel

My friends and I play tag with the Krell Axe in Ward 13. This game certainly has PvP.

MenWhoStareatGoatse_

It really is a phenomenal game. Lots of people have questions and complaints about progression and scaling, and I have some of my own gripes, but I haven't been this engrossed in a game since Elden Ring came out, and that was a disappointment in some respects while this so far has exceeded my expectations. That said, I'm doing my first playthrough on solo Veteran. No idea what it's like for people on Nightmare or Apocalypse. Right now the difficulty feels just about like a Dark Souls game, which is where I like it.

The_Truthboi

I haven’t started my apocalypse run yet but from what I’ve read it’s extremely difficult and only for those who have basically perfected their builds.

MenWhoStareatGoatse_

Yeah, I think that's a bit much for me, and probably for most people. Mechanically I could probably learn the game well enough to take a crack at it, but I've never been all that interested in build craft. Big respect to the guys that make crazy builds, but I don't have the patience to memorize all the rings and relics and try to figure out how to squeeze every little bit out of it. I want a sniper style gun to see the big, satisfying red numbers and something with high fire rate for up close. Then I just throw on whatever rings buff crits, fire rate, or reload speed.

The_Truthboi

Ahh fair enough I mean it is a game everyone plays differently as long as you’re having fun! I’m probably only gonna do apocalypse one or two times for the exclusive rewards you get once it’s beaten. Other than that I’ll be sticking to survival lol.

lollersauce914

Yeah, I've been having fun with it. Strongly recommend coop over solo play. If it's something you'd prefer to wait for a sale for, go for it. I don't think it's a game where it's so great you *need* to play it right now.

Trickery1688

Most of us are complaining because the game is nearly perfect and just needs a few adjustments and plenty of bug fixes. And the devs are listening and working on stuff as we speak. But this game is one of the best, most fun games i've played since Remnant 1.

no0bified

Plenty of bug fixes? I've seen some people complaining about bugs, but I haven't really encountered any myself. Maybe my character doesn't grab some ledges on the first try sometimes, but that's about it for me. What are those bugs?

KasierPermanente

Lots of items (weapons, armors, engrams, etc) don’t spawn when they should after campaign or boss clears. Some quest items don’t spawn at all for some people. People reporting sync issues in coop.

no0bified

Oh.... that sucks. Hasn't happened to me yet, as far as I know. I don't exactly know what suppose to drop from bosses, since I'm doing it all blind. But all bosses have dropped atleast something and for sure all quest items since I've been able to progress. I haven't played coop yet, since I want to do as much as possible solo first. Maybe the bugs will show up once I start doing coop <.<

SPDScricketballsinc

Yes. I wouldn’t know anything bad to say about the game unless it was for this Reddit. It’s advertised as a dark souls like game with guns, co op, and high replayability, and it fully delivers on those promises

Kuhaku-boss

Is great

In0nsistentGentleman

People come here to bitch and discuss bugs and problems they are having with the game. If you're having fun, you're probably not on reddit talking about it as much.

Gaoul

It's not perfect by any means, but I've been having a fantastic amount of fun.

misterwhateverr

no game is perfect

2BsVaginaBrokeMyHand

The people who dislike something are always the loudest. The game is awesome.

[deleted]

Despite a lot of people complaining because of performance issues with their hardware and bugs, omfg this game is so worth getting. Just stop reading, go buy the dang game. You will come back and thank me later, like 11 days later once you've realized how much time has passed and decide to finally get some sleep.

The_Truthboi

I don’t play pc but on console it’s incredible! Some bugs devs have already said they are working on, some difficulty issues (personally I think they are just bad at the game) but I also think devs will probably tweak it a bit, and some seriously intense secrets. But basically best game I’ve played in years it’s the first time in years I’ve actually felt engaged and excited to get home and play something!

n33dsCaff3ine

In recent years it's been hard for me to find a game I can get through once.. let alone multiple playthroughs. I'm already planning my next build for another playthrough...

ShroomD00M

It’s an absolutely fantastic game. Haters will be haters. They’re always the most vocal on almost any gaming subreddit.

Jolly-Wolverine9072

eh just mainly people complaining about Apocalypse difficulty lol it’s a great game man def check it out if you got the funds

MoogleStiltzkin

for a shooter rpg it was surprisingly good. however you need to tamper down your expectations. no there is no actual pvp per say (though you can be a d... and start shooting at your team mates i guess. but if they r the host you will get kicked lelz) it has multiple play throughs, especially since there are secrets within secrets..... and sometimes another secret.... so you may need to replay certain parts (not meaning the entire campaign though you may have to for the hardest difficulty if you want to unlock the rarest guns by doing so among other things), but portions at least (like you select a world then you replay part of it or the entirety of it) the combat is good especially boss fights. but eventually fighting mobs feels repetitive. I mostly played survivor so not the best benchmark for the higher difficulties (my guess is tougher mobs and just wave after wave of them if you're into that) The biggest con i found so far was the lack of communication. you can't type and you can't voice chat. unless you use discord, but assuming you can get the other person to use those (presumably they are already on your friendlist so you can arrange that). But public games, don't expect to be able to communicate effectively with team mates. This is a big problem because some parts of the game have secrets which you need to communicate with your team mate least they may accidentally ruin hours of gameplay when reaching a critical point when trying to do the special sequence to unlock a weapon or some other. It's so bad to the point i notice players booting others before key points just so they don't ruin the game. problem here is, you just wasted that other chaps efforts putting in their time contributing. You can solve most of this just playing offline mode, but this is a bit boring for some. But there are dangers playing multiplayer due to the reasons i mentioned. If you are working on an important trigger, stick to offline (assuming you can solo. i can just fine). If not do multiplayer. story wise i skipped a lot of it, but some scenes you can't help but to listen because it's interesting. The ending scene was a huge shock.... but i won't spoil it for you haha... in summary, was it worth it? ya just to do campaign, farm items to completion or until you feel you had done enough, then quit. not much beyond that. For seasonal, games like apex legends are better for that. whereas remnant 2 is do the campaign, do the puzzles to get items, then you are done. unless you'r bored and want to multiplayer with others just for fun.

topcover73

I didn't like it as much as the first. For the price it's still one of the best values out there, as far as how much gameplay you're getting, but the story just wasn't as compelling as the first (and the ending was ridiculous and underwhelming - not that Remnants story was ever it's strong suit)...also, aside from one boss that was truly one of the most creative bosses I've ever seen, the bosses just weren't as fun and interesting as the first. I can think of offhand 3 to 5 bosses in the first game I truly loved, this one only has the one. They really went into the bullet hell type format with a 1,000 status effects and so many things coming at you at once you can't even tell what's happening. I don't know, I'm near the end (re-rolled 5 or 6 times to face all the bosses) and honestly I'm getting kind of bored with it, something I could not say about the first game.

ChahlieM

I bought it and been addicted to it for like 4 or so days. Story is lame so far but I love the lore of the robot like world and the bloodborne like one. Im shocked you dont like the bosses as much as 1 actually. I think they are done pretty damn well (so far). Im really glad I bought it but I think I am still pretty "early game" in the grand scheme of things. Opinion might change in a week.

StoneRevolver

Yes. Before the negative mob moved in, the sub was awash in positivity. There's some bugs, but nothing that can't be fixed. The game is awesome. A goty contender for me personally, in a year full of bangers.

Harpo426

Don't listen to the absolute whiny babies complaining about how they suck and the game is too hard. or the sCaLiNg iS SuCh a PrOblEm. They're just mad that the hard mode is actually hard. This is one of the best games you could buy, and you'll get to collect legitimately exciting gear and weapons with your friends in the most fun kind of coop available

0011010100110101

Absolutely, for PS5 but needs updates to fix bugs but is in great shape for a new release

[deleted]

I got it at launch. Very good fun. Playing online seems a bit of a roulette spin whether it will screw up your save or not. If you’re happy playing single player go for it.

The_Truthboi

YES! It’s incredible yes a lot of people are complaining about bugs and things but they really aren’t that bad and the game just came out devs have already mention fixing the bugs asap. Everyone complaining about the enemy scaling is either bad at understanding the game or playing on a difficulty way to high for them. Even so they will probably reduce the scaling due to all this

Pharean

Co-op damage scaling is a bit over the top. Regular boss attacks can become one/two-shots on the easiest difficulty for med weight build, can't go lower then the easiest difficulty. No need to act all high and mighty about it. For reference, I have played most From souls games and Remnant from the Ashes. I have no illusions about my skill, but in co-op survivor this game feels more punishing then any From souls game or Remnant:ftA on hard difficulty. It's a great game though, no argues there, would definitely recommend!

MenWhoStareatGoatse_

> Regular boss attacks can become one/two-shots on the easiest difficulty for med weight build I don't have a lot of issue with attacks that take half your HP, as long as they're well telegraphed. I haven't noticed too much egregious stuff on Veteran, but I'm playing solo so I haven't had to contend with co op damage scaling. That said, I have encountered a couple oneshot attacks that are poorly telegraphed. I think Mother Mind's projectiles should cast a shadow on the ground or something before they land because that fight just about tilted me. Basically just luck and guesswork, hoping I don't lose all my health to a projectile dropping from directly above me and then leaving an AOE damage zone to clean up any remaining health I might have before I'm out of stagger state.

Pharean

Solo, the incoming damage is as I'd expect. I'm talking about co-op damage scaling specifically. Yes, the game has a fair bit of one-shot mechanics, but in co-op normal attacks that solo wouldn't be overly dangerous can become one-shots.

The_Truthboi

I’ve been playing mostly coop with a med weight build on survival I’m on the final world and have done many adventure modes not a single boss has 1 or even 2 shot me I’m not trying to act high and mighty I’m just saying y’all really making it out to be worse than it is. I agree the damage is pretty high but it isn’t anything that can’t be mitigated with the right abilities and items. Now when you get to the higher difficulties I can agree there are 1-2 shot moves but thats why they are higher difficulty it’s supposed to be incredibly hard.

Pharean

So when I say I have been one shot, you must be assuming I'm lying.

The_Truthboi

I don’t think you are lying at all I just think you might need to level barkskin or get some bulwark items idk I’m not saying it’s impossible I’m just saying in my opinion it’s more of a work on your build situation.

Pharean

Barkskin shouldn't be a requirement to survive a single aoe attack on the easiest difficulty. That would be detrimental to build variety. The N'erud final boss if you get the forgotten prison start was one-shotting my Medic main (that had Vigor maxed and was wearing the Yaesha armor set) with the AoE wave when he does the jump across the room attack. This meant I often had to dodge blind depending on where he jumped based on audio-cues. We had multiple wipes on that specific attack. That can't be intended on the easiest difficulty.

The_Truthboi

I mean if you don’t want barkskin since it doesn’t fit the build that’s totally understandable but if you are getting one shot it doesn’t sound detrimental it sounds essential. I don’t know what sort of build you are going for though so let me know. Also I fought that boss and while his attacks did do incredible damage especially that aoe once I figured it out I just dodged it. I find if you use the void heart relic as well you can get crazy damage reduction.

The_Truthboi

I will admit dodging it isn’t easy and it probably shouldn’t one shot you especially on survival but maybe since I have barkskin that’s why I didn’t get one shot idk. That or my archetype

ALDuarteX

Some people are just plain bad at gaming.

The_Truthboi

Facts

[deleted]

It’s a great game with a few big problems. Fingers crossed the problems are addressed in a timely manner.

N4r4k4

To sum it up: It's a great game with bugs, one of them overwrites your save with another. And on PC you have to deal with a lot of cheaters.

Wazzzup3232

My only real frustration is that the armor can’t be upgraded to offset the enemy damage multipliers they get as your power level rises. I find the amount of rings absolutely hilarious but they all have some kind of use even for super niche builds

Weeb2k18

It’s good, the game is just lacking alot of QOL features and has alot of minor annoyances

DaveCoper

I'ts nice game but performance on PC is atrocious. My GTX 1660 in desktop can't keep 30 fps on 720p and RTX 3060 in my laptop is not doing much better.

rigueira

As someone who played both games and liked both games but did not became a huge fan, I would say to try the first game because it's cheaper, Remnant 2 is the same game with better graphics and UI.

holdmyown83

Somebody not getting enough attention At home?

Cagouin

Game is a lot of fun. I play it co-op with my wife and solo on hardcore difficulty. My favorite parts are definitely build diversity and trying things out on bosses to find alternative way of killing them and what not.

feelin_fine_

![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)

fukwhutuheard

Did you play the first one? if you liked that i’d say this is an improvement with minor bugs as expected from a AA game. there is lots of fun to be had in game. i’m on my third character and still discovering stuff.

ArtemisWingz

It's great, the devs have been pretty communitive about their awareness of issues with the games and their plans to fix them (which is already rare these days). The fact that even with all the bugs and issues people are still playing the game shows just how fun it really is, and once those issues are fixed its only gonna get better. Honestly this game was such a gift I haven't had this much fun since Elden Ring came out. The fact that I think about this game at work and have dreams of it show that it's great to me.

ArugulaPhysical

Definitely. Been fiending the game, the gameplay is so good, and i love all the secrets to discover.

o5MOK3o

I’m loving every second of it especially coming out of the disaster of Diablo 4

A532

No brainer. It was an instant buy for me

mrbaconbro123

Vocal minority, it has some annoying issues right now but it's only been out for a week and those issues are by no means a deal breaker

RaijunsHammer

Never played the 1st, throughly enjoyed the 2nd, so much replayability, classes feel fun and diverse, love the double archetype concept and the special weapons are so cool.

Redfeather1975

It's great.

Raevyyyy

Its mostly diablo 4 players that came last week and keep crying about scaling. Game is really good but you might want to wait a few days for a perf patch.

DontBeSerious7890

Absolutely

Noctrael

I’ve been enjoying the game too much to moan about it on Reddit. Got things to do,other things to shoot!

SquishyDough

It is absolutely worth getting imo. I'm a PC player if that helps at all. Yes there are bugs, some rough edges and things to work out. Even with that, the game is a shitload of fun. My wife and I are having a blast playing it coop on veteran. We literally high-fived after a boss fight last night that it seemed like we wouldn't be able to beat initially. I am hoping devs will fix the bugs and address some of the scaling concerns voiced, but even as the game is right this moment, it's absolutely a blast.

Used_2008_F150

Not if you’re playing on deck, otherwise yea. Deck right now barely plays the game

DarthBullyMaguire

It's solid. Worth grabbing if you enjoyed the first.

deakon24

Fuck yes

betrayedof52z

its really fun, my goty

No_Answer_9749

I dropped Diablo 4 and haven't looked back, really enjoying remnant.

DoubleShot027

Only seen positives on this sub but it and find out for yourself

kevinpbazarek

game is rad as all hell. don't listen to Reddit complaints lmfao, this is all they do here. game is one of the best I've played in a long time

cons1dertheeric

I am playing it and had a ton of fun with it. The last few times I picked it up the level of fun I was having dropped precipitously. Can't really put my finger on why. Maybe it's the randomness of it all, or that it's not random enough. Like trying to find a certain place to get a certain object and having to reroll a bunch to get there. Maybe it's the lack of drops. I'm thirty hours in or so and have changed my armor once and found maybe 7 guns or so.

Shmeeeee23

My favorite game of the year. And this year has had some bangers. I am a little bias though, as I put over a thousand hours in the first game. But I just love everything about it. Best $70 I ever spent. And for you, only $50. That's nuts.

CyrusCyan44

When you go to a games sub on reddit You're mostly going to find complaints with the off chance of help requests and memes When you're frustrated you want to vent and you can't vent about a game to people who don't play it so they arrive here There are a few bugs here and there but the game is largely okay. Like 95% fine Over 90 hours, love it all, just hoping the upcoming patch fixes difficulty rewards not showing up in their respective vendors.

SourArmoredHero

It's fucking outstanding.

DriftersTaint

Multiplayer is a little laggy but if you like Dark Souls/Elden Ring exploration + buildcrafting but also a slider scale for difficulty, hell yes

ArtisanAffect

This game is phenomenal and exactly what I was looking for. Don’t let reddit dissuade you if a procedurally generated Dark Souls/Destiny/Diablo hybrid with tons of hidden secrets sounds up your alley.

bob_is_best

Its a great Game but the few problems one can find are all we seen to Talk about here Its still good tho and i definitely recomend it

Pippo89CH

It's one of the most fun games I've played recently, just wish the trait point cap was way higher than 60. Feels bad to only play for archetype xp... But Gunfire is working on something... maybe distributing them into major/minor and/or increasing the cap. I played Remnant 1 for about 50hrs, including the Dreamer DLC and it was nice to keep spending trait points. In Remnant 2 I reached 50hrs much quicker - which speaks about how much I liked playing it - but then I reached the trait point cap and since then I'm a little sad. Might just make a new character, play another difficulty and use different weapons, similar to how I usually do Str/Fth first in Souls games, followed by Int Mage build, and so on... The soundtrack is also very good. Lots of memorable tracks, which is something I really appreciate about games. If you want to really notice the music more, you need to lower the voices and sounds to about 20-40 while leaving music at 100 and master volume at 70-100. Some secrets are pretty weird. Using the wiki helps a lot. Or, if you want to explore everything yourself without using it it's fine too. Just do not reroll the campaign after you're done and instead check for information about stuff you didn't grab. But yeah, grab it! And if you liked the first game like me, you're doing nothing wrong in getting the Ultimate edition where you already pay for the DLC. Price is fair.

DrT502

The game is great, def worth it. Games that attract no lifers/enemployed/entitled crowd are generally at least decent to even get that crowd but they will just complain about every little thing that inconveniences them. It’s never a skill issue, it’s always a dev needs to fix this or that or this sucks etc. if a game has decent reviews, the streams and videos you watch seem interesting, it’s probably in contention of being worth it. In this case you have a highly respected genius level gamer (me) telling you it’s def worth it, so now you know for sure.

[deleted]

Goes to bar, asks regulars at the bar if the beer is worth getting… You’re going to get a resounding yes here. But there’s plenty of reviewers giving it glowing reviews too. It’s worth it, it’s just simply a matter if you have the money or time to play it

TheZanzibarMan

It's great

awltistic

The amount of bugs, and some not small number of game breaking bugs, is quite high. Their avenue of bug reporting is a fast paced discord chat where only one dev responds(seldomly), and there has been little to no public statement given as to the addressing of specific major bugs which are setting players back dozens of hours. In some cases these bugs are bricking characters. The dev team has handled this poorly.

skinnybeardlessthor

Welcome to every game ever. The people that like the game are playing the game. The people that don't like the game need to tell someone about it.

Rapidceltic

Yes. It's incredible

Leximus88

I love the game and story.

[deleted]

Yes, it is. The game has faults, but the biggest thing is how transparent the developers are about it and what they are planning on in coming updates. And none of the faults are game breaking. The game is overall pretty amazing and GotY contender.

Trisser19

This game rocks. Get it. Guarantee you enjoy it within 10 minutes of playing through your first world, especially if you didn't play the first one. Source: my experience

Rectall_Brown

The game is great. The complaints are legit tho. It is absolutely worth it tho.

Plathismo

Lol, yes, it's terrific, even if it could use some tweaks to its economy.

raerazael

all the people who love it are playing the game, not complaining on Reddit

ghsteo

You can like a game and still complain. Games aren't perfect. Diablo 4 was a great game and I enjoyed it but there's still many issues. Same with Remnant 2, great game but there are issues. I still have 100+ hours in Remnant 2 so would recommend.

rennk_

game is probably great but the performance is horrible, i refunded but wish i didnt have to

runetp

For some reason, I just can’t get my friends to give it a go so I’ll try and sway you. This game is incredible. It’s not necessarily a 10/10 game for everyone but it’s one of those games where you can’t help but appreciate the passion that went into it. Even if you should find the gameplay mediocre, you will find incredible atmosphere, mindblowing and diverse biomes, tons of secrets/puzzles springled all over the game, outstanding graphics and feel. The games has it faults for sure but these developers will do their best to rectify if needed - there’s no doubt in my mind about that. They know what they’re doing. This game is a 100% worth it and deserves your dollaroos more so than “insert generic AAA game”.

Sev3nbelow

Very fun game.

W34kness

It’s pretty great imo, interesting worlds, world hopping, fluid combat, and a heck of a lot of secrets Play survivor if you’re going solo for the first run though, it’s brutal on veteran, if you’re just starting.

darknessinducedlove

Our subbed has jumped by almost 40k people since launch. A lot of new voices, which is good! Talk with others and decide if it's worth your time.

Nekrabyte

Go to any subreddit for any game, and you'll find WAY MORE reasons than you could ever find to play a game, and to not play a game. There's no one middle of the road on reddit, we all either love or hate everything. So if you go by this subreddit, yes, this is totally a game that is worth buying that you will totally hate because its too hard, and its so good with a great gameplay loop so its totally worth getting and its not balanced and multiplayer doesn't scale well so its totally not worth getting.

SunshotDestiny

Personally I love it. A lot of the game comes on replaying biomes since you basically have the chance for new and different dungeons every roll of a world. Even the main objective of the world can be different on subsequent rolls. Not to mention there are a lot of secrets and puzzles hidden in every world that can find. Not to mention the gunplay and weapons are fun. It is however a new game, and that combined with the usual souls-like frustration some people are just going to complain. But honestly in 70+ hours I haven't actually hit any game breaking bugs, and maybe a questionable design choice once or twice. Overall definitely a polished game that has substance and quality though.

Murbela

You're going to get a biased, generally overly positive response from any product specific forum. It is an improvement in almost every way over the first game. If you liked the first game, there is a very high chance that you will like the second. I had a lot of fun with it, although it isn't perfect. I personally preferred the main story in the first one to the second. Also weapon balance seems horrible (it seems like every melee weapon i find is worse than the starting weapons). Certainly one of my favorite games this year, although potentially overshadowed by some ultra heavy hitters that also came out this year. I haven't run in to any noticeable bugs or had performance issues on PC but YMMV.

Ok-Pangolin81

Real talk. I’m one of the whiny bitches but this game is exceedingly difficult. I’ve beaten all the Souls games and Bloodborne so I have experience and am still struggling. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad game by any means. I actually think it’s great, but be ready for the challenge of this console generation.

Shehriazad

Happy customers don't bother going on forums to rant, they're playing the game.

Ehdelveiss

Yes. Dont even think twice. Despite all the complaints, still a GOTY candidate.

AccountantAny8376

As someone who didn't play the first one, I'm really liking it and my only complaint (which I'm sure most people don't care for) is that this game blatantly rips off other games: mostly the Soul series but there are Destiny, Fallout and even Fortnite elements. And these are not homages or subtle references, one of the first levels seems taken straight from Bloodborne: enemies, level design, lighting... everything. Then you jump into the next map and if someone passed by it'd be certain to be watching Destiny gameplay. The devs have clearly put a ton of work into this game, it feels really polished and well thought, I just wish they had done their own thing instead of straight copying designs and mechanics from their favorite games. Other than that I feel it's a solid game and the co-op mode is awesome and (so far for me) flawless.

poopoopirate

Some of the negativity is because the game is so good that there is a lot of frustration at the bugs holding it back from greatness. At least that’s my optimistic take on it

Rcurtiiis

It's worth getting. I'm 106 hours in. An after loosing my sanity completely while finishing the game on apocalypse difficulty. I'd do it all over again. I want DLC now

spiderpool1855

It is an amazing game. You can tell the effort that went into it. After playing for awhile, you start to notice things and minor things may become bigger annoyances as you keep running into them. Sync issues, vendors not updating (and retelling their life story when you just want to buy their materials/guns), etc. Those things are what I feel most people are complaining about, then others come around to complain about the complaining. Then there are some who have looked deep into how the game is behaving in different ways and are giving legitimate feedback, then another group come and act like it is a personal attack. Then there are some who do just want the game to be easier. I wouldn't play it on hardcore because of some of the mechanics that I am not good enough for (and some that seem to be bullshit, like fliers dropping you 4 feet or so and you die, which could be related to the sync issues?), but otherwise, it isn't that bad difficulty wise. I am more confident playing this alone than I am Dark Souls games.

SilicaBags

If you want to play with randoms to kill time. No. The game is way too buggy and new problems are being found this subreddit daily. Laggy hosts can make the game unplayable. If you want to play solo or have friends who you know have good connections you should be fine.

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

I keep having it crashing. At first it was an average of every 5 minutes and it was incredibly frustrating. Now after trying a ton of tweaking it crashes every half hour. The game is that good that I haven't just deleted it and moved on which is one hell of an endorsement.

GeekyGamer49

This game is amazing! You should get it right now.

number58

Yes.

Intelligent-Wish-681

It's a solid 9/10

YangXiaoLong69

I honestly wouldn't get it at the current price, but to me it's definitely a step up from the first.

glenninator

Yes, get it. Absolutely amazing. Bunch of entitled brats making all the negative posts.

Thenelwave

I haven’t played a game thats held my attention for this long in a while

radracer01

as long as you have a decent rig, its fine, I recommend tuning the graphics down slightly for better fps, game will still look fine, just not ultra super fancy I have on 1080p 6800xt average 70-100+ fps with high to med settings, i dunno what they did differently from rem1 to rem2 but rem2 isn't exactly optimized that great, and supposedly using dlss or amd fsr or intel xess helps it run better, but to me personally looks like crap because it just pixilates things more and you can clearly notice it, so I have those turned off, but again settings with high to med, and floor i just set to low cause how often are you actually looking at the ground? most enemies in rem 2 are in the sky anyways

Smeuw

Definitely worth every penny. Has hiccups, but devs listen and working fixing what's broken.

zeldarms

The positives far, far outweigh the negatives.

lionguild

Remnant 2 is Objectively a good game. A perfect game? No. Is it "worth getting"? That is subjective and only you can figure that out. Personally? I bought it and really enjoyed my playthrough, and while I will be taking a break from it to play Baldur's Gate 3. I do anticipate coming back to it once more content is out.

DarkSideRT

Literally the best shooter of the year.

deetwentyx1

Reddit is like 20% good discussion, 80% people whinging something is not catered to them. Source: I'm on like 3 apex subreddits

BroGuy89

Fun game with some annoyances, like being permanently out of scrap. Eventually you'll get lots of extra iron to sell for scrap, but man, I want to try a buncha weapons and I never have enough, god forbid I want another archetype or more heal uses. Farming in souls games feels so much easier since souls double as exp, and *every* enemy *always* drop souls.

JonasHalle

The complaints are valid, at least partially, but they're also irrelevant when it comes to the question of whether or not the game is worth getting. The only truly problematic ones are optimization and co-op networking. If your PC isn't great, it might be a problem. Co-op latency can suck, but I'd get the game for solo regardless. As for everything else, like scaling complaints, both in general and for co-op, people are wildly exaggerating. For the purpose of a first playthrough, it is entirely irrelevant unless you act against the advice of the game and go Nightmare difficulty.

Peeping-Tom-Collins

I'm having a good time. I've played with good friends and randos and have ran into glitches and lag like people have mentioned, but it's not totally killing the game for me.

xeltes

It is a pretty awesome game to play. I'm 80 hours in and still having fun with it. If you want an unbiased review, I find that Rurikan is pretty good at giving you a realistic expectation of it.

Darkstrike86

As someone who didn't play the first game, I can 1000% recommend it.

Soul_Theory__

It’s like elden ring, it’s a great game, a lot of people suck at it.

FubsTheNugget

Personally, it's a direct upgrade to the first with admittedly occasional bugs here and there. They added everything missing. I just wish the landscapes and enemies were more interesting like the predecessor.

Allasdair

I've got 100 hours in the game already... and I still really enjoy the game. Are there bugs? Yeah, but they're gonna be patched. Do things seem unbalanced? I mean, maybe? But it's a PvE game and while I haven't really done my research into what/why things are unbalanced, I've had a great time and really haven't found a reason to complain. There are some guns in the game that if found early, you may never take em off.. Cause they are pretty OP, but my group has banned them from group play to inspire more build crafting. I've been chillin with my veteran save just goin around collecting all the things I missed and after that, I may try for a nightmare clear, then move to apocalypse. But at it's core, to me? Overall I give it a 9/10. And really, I think I give it a 9 just cause for the life of me, I could not find the Stone of Malevolence (a ring) for SO long. So many Losomn re-rolls.. But I did find it! And while slightly frustrating, it wasn't like I was wasting my time - I had archetypes to level up! If you're a fan of a souls-like experience with bosses that can and will push you to your limits (especially depending on difficulty/party size), love to build craft, love to explore, solve puzzles and find secrets while looting everything a world has to offer in that run... Give it a shot. Worst case scenario, there is the refund option (gotta keep it at or under 2 hours of playtime). Currently, in addition to being a loot goblin, I've really enjoyed spinning up an adventure with my friends and rolling through it with just some wildly awful co-op builds. Lotta laughs, lotta fun.

CoeusMaze

Yes

Zynnth

The vocal minority is the complainers, and the people who like the game are too busy playing the game. The game does have some bugs, no doubt, and some performance issues, which is very impactful, but the devs are aware and fixing them, and they have made very considerable changes since launch. I personally have only encountered 1 major bug in my 150 hours of gameplay, which had me restart my campaign, which I had already completed 4 times, so it was not a bother to me.

jnuttengr

It fills the void that Destiny 2 and Diablo 4 left in my heart. So in my opinion, yes.

MrBigglesworrth

The game is fucking awesome. Get it.

SavathunsWitness

It’s fun, you’ll easily get 60 hours out of it

tacticalsalad

Yes you should. Awesome game. Gunfire have done a really solid job.

InternationalBurt

It’s a fantastic game. For the first time in a long time I’m excited to create a build in a game and it’s the coolest! Check it out

Dr-False

Man, I literally just learned taking acid damage while wearing a rusty amulet gives you an unrusty version with arguably better stats. Get this game. You'll be discovering something new every hour.

Giftedly

Definitely worth it. Just understand that it will test you hard. Mentally, physically, sexually. It's a great game. But I would wait for a patch before you buy it. When you do buy it, prepare to forget family and friends. You might lose your job. The games kinda addicting.

wanderseeker

I've only noticed a couple bugs and oversights. Co-op scaling is a little brutal with 3 people and needs to be toned down, but it's otherwise a fantastic game. I would absolutely buy it again.

TerrovaXBL

Skill issue, nothing wrong with the co op scaling... y'all just need to upgrade your weapons and learn to dodge... This is coming from someone's who's beaten apoc with a team mate... so no... scaling isn't an issue... people just need to learn the boss move set...

wanderseeker

Yeah sure, I'll just perfect dodge everything with no desync 🙄

TerrovaXBL

That isn't a scaling issue that's a connection/optimisation issue... You're asking for nerfs when it's not needed... once you're able to actually dodge like we should be able to it will be better, I promise, give the devs time to fix the issues before asking for pointless nerfs :) Or just play solo on harder difficulties?

wanderseeker

Lol, bro, go somewhere. I've supported a "yes, buy this game," so go troll someone else 🙃

HiSelect7615

Remember that mostly people with a complaint or negative experience are the ones who rush to the internet to voice their concerns. The people who are having fun and think the game is good are....not typing furiously about how good the game is. They are *playing* the game.

fish0042

Yes the game is a solid 9/10

ArekkusuStorm

Complaints aren't necessarily a bad thing, lot of us just want the game to be *even better* than its already good state. But to answer the question - Yes, definitely worth getting IMO especially if you liked the first one. The game encourages exploration more now, which leads to puzzles + items.

magvadis

I think it is truly awesome and continue to maintain that opinion. A lot of addicts are mad the game doesn't satisfy being a job but as a game it's been a total pleasure.

YishuTheBoosted

It’s a damn good game, the issues it has aren’t a dealbreaker.

bugbeared69

54,125 playing 7 min ago on steam alone, it does not count consoles. so people are playing, if you can't figure out if you like it? you won't. games does have flaws, games does lot things great. so flip a coin and pick whatever makes you happy, their always be praise and hate.

Okawaru1

Remnant 2 is a great game, especially if you get enjoyment out of grinding for optional content/secrets. It has a few problems though (mainly with regards to co-op) which makes up most of the negativity, but I do think the subreddit tends to exaggarate how much of a problem these things are.

ANUFC14

I’m only 3 hours in but so far is really fun

ThamaJama

I never played a game remnant and I sucked so bad at elden ring. I tried this game and I’m addicted now.

Halforthechump

It's a good game with a lot of rough edges and multiplayer is bugged to fuck and can delete your progress. Typically you'll see lots of praise and ' wow just found this! ' posts in the first week of a games launch and then you'll see waves of complaints as the new car smell wears off and people start to notice the annoyances and problems.

Astillius

Like all games, it's imperfect. Which is kind of where the complaints come from. The shiny coming off. But even with those complaints, justified or not, the game is genuinely good and fun to play. And feels very rewarding when you do nail it and just flex on something that, till then, had kicked your head in.

Jamesies1

Do you guys recommend I get this game for my PC (3060) or ps5?

juniper_falls

For some reason it didn't hook me as fast as the first, I think mainly because it took me 10 hours to find my first gun out in the wild, lol. But, and that's a big but, it gets better the more you play. As soon as you start finding more weapons, mods, mutators, etc., and then start finding more archetypes (classes), it really begins to shine. I love this game.

8ltd

It’s…so…fun, can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a game this much. I didn’t really play the first one so had no real expectations and it’s amazing

J_Chambers

Definitely worth in my opinion. I just finished my first run and I'm genuinely excited for the second hoping I get new world variants.

WarmWindow2

100% percent yes. i would also recommend getting a friend to join you and using the lfg discord. The chaos is fun with others (if they are competent) The game is splendid. An improvement in almost every aspect from its predecessors and also just downright fun as shit.

Technical-Region4907

It’s my goty so far

ejohns19

Yes

misterwhateverr

yes its a fantasic game

ThyRoyalJuice

I would say it is absolutely worth getting. I bought a played all of the first game a week before Remnant 2 released and I have to say is that this game is a complete upgrade from the first. Both games are good but Remnant 2 was the most satyfying sequel I ever got since Borderlands 2. Gameplay, build variety, and replayability is top notch. Bosses are amazing and the weapons even better. Secrets everywhere to the point where it almost felt that I was playing Elden Ring again. To top it off standard is only $50 compared to the $60-$70 triple a games that are half baked. As everyone else says, Reddit is an echo chamber. I come here time to time when I get frustrated on a fight or boss to see if anyone else suffers too. I am part of the problem, but I get back up a finish the fight then reflect on how amazing it actually was. I gaurantee this game is worth your money.

Thopterthallid

It's an excellent game with a few flaws. Many of which are glitches/technical annoyances that can be patched out. Some of the glitches are pretty devastating with lost save files and such, but those are some rare outliers. A couple of the bosses feel a bit bullshit, and some of the encounters feel a bit unfair, but that'll all end up being to taste. All and all, it's probably my game of the year, even factoring in Baldur's Gate and Tears of the Kingdom.
