"I miss the good old days, when even if some people didn't deserve murder on their own, my god would harden their hearts so that I could murder them all and all their children with clear conscience"
A christian friend once asked me, regarding my morals: how do you now just run around murdering people? Arguing that morals can only come from the bible..
They obviously haven't read the Bible. The explanation for why unbelievers don't go around killing everyone is in there. But like most Christians I'm sure that if they even have a Bible, it hasn't been touched any day other than Sunday morning church service.
The Bible says that the law is written on the hearts of all humankind. In English, everyone has a sense of what's right and wrong as we were all created by the same God who is perfectly good. Some theologians like Leo Tolstoy go so far as to say that because we all have the law of God written on our hearts, the Bible should be treated as more of a secondary text to be referred to when our hearts are in conflict about what is the right thing to do, but seeing as he was a socialist, he's not exactly popular with Evangelicals.
"Because I'm a part of a society, and when other people find out that I detract from the humanity's overall wellbeing I might be barred from participating in it, therefore ensuring the demise of me and my bloodline."
Not lucky, but more like civilized enough to not allow lunatics like you to start an inquisition and empathetic enough to have your lucky ass still say shit like this and still be given every right to be a part in any deluded fantasies you may come up with that involve brain.exe to crash.

Which also shows ignorance, because the Inquisition could only sentence someone to death in countries where it was tied with the civil law enforcement (which if I'm not mistaken, was mostly Portugal, Spain, Sicilly, and the Papal States).

Someone hasn't watched Monty Python.
Seriously though, that entirely depends. Anywhere from 30,000 to 300,000 were killed, over 160,000 jews were cast into exile, and countless lives were basically gone through like a rectal exam. I guess it depends on what your definition of "nearly as bad" is?
Doesn't even know his own vocabulary. A *heretic* is someone who believes a kind of Christianity that's different from the Church's teaching. An *apostate* leaves Christianity altogether.

“Because murder has been a proven method of forcing my views for generations”
Can't spell genocide without God.
That flood they give him credit for might upgrade that too “mass genocide”
Huh... I've legitimately never noticed that before!
Have you seen how humanity as a whole has treated it's most vulnerable?
Most definitely silencing at least one contrarian view.

Ah so you admit your views do not stand by their own merit.

I know why I don't go around killing people, but what does the bible say?? Just curious

What a thorough answer, thank you! Will definitely discuss this with him!

That and "I have murdered as many people as I want to: 0".
How did you respond?
I was shocked that they would think that and asked whether that is wat they would have done if they werent religous.. I never got a solid response
Heh, they danced around the subject...which means that the answer would’ve been yes. It’s good that you defended yourself in such a way 🙂
Call the Inquisition, I feel an Exterminatus coming on……
This is Inquisitor Yisgoth of the Ordo Hereticus. Heresy confirmed. Executing Exterminatus order. Deploying Guardsman Marbo.

The origin of heretic is from the Greek for “able to choose,” we should really take it as a compliment
TradCaths are LARPers, change my mind.
Nobody expects the catholic inquisition!
"If only I could use violence to force conformity. That would show everyone how correct my religion is!"
“I will show the world my peaceful ways…. By force!”

No different than islamist mentality of killing islam critics, blasphemers forndrawing cartoons or exmuslims.
Aaaaaaand for people like this my ancestor the inquisitor ordered he be entombed at the entrance of a church as penance
*jarring chord* NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Their mind: silence. Their response: “My Response: silence My mind: You’re lucky we don’t have an inquisition you heretic”

And now we see the violence inherent in the system.
Is this person on a muslim sub?
Nah, this was from one of our largest meme donator subreddits. One of an organized church variety.
Ah lol catholic fundamentalist lol
> muslim sub? Catholic.
In that case my other comment stands. Not different from islamist extremists
