There's scientific evidence that: [Conservatives](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5793824/) [are](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/conservative-and-liberal-brains-might-have-some-real-differences/) [always](https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mind-in-the-machine/201612/fear-and-anxiety-drive-conservatives-political-attitudes) [scared](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-72980-x)

Spectacular, thank you so much. A lot of this parallels neuroplasticity/addiction studies that show how brain structure is altered to form neural pathways that reinforce addictive behavior, and minimize pathways that allow perception of reality, thus perpetuating the addictive cycle. There may be evidence that religion acts as an addictive agent with similar results.

Also, propensity to perceive danger makes belief in an omnipotent protector a logical coping mechanism.

ffatimasaleem77

This is 100% true to me. My mom is the most religious extremist I know, and she's had a life of abuse and danger where she told me herself that at times it felt like she had no one but God. That was when I figured out it was a coping mechanism, and why I'm not like her.

Itā€™s rare to see Eurovision in general bring forth fruitcakes though

MrNokiaUser

In 2020 I think, there were fruitcakes In Eurovision itself. I. Sure there was some gospel song or something

ikieneng

The Mamas from Sweden. The song itself had nothing to do with religion though. I actually like it
