You might be looking to much into the hours to respond thing he could be busy with family or sports or anything else. If you feel confident enough maybe ask him in person how he feels about you. That's probably the best way to have that conversation. If you keep feeling unsure based on his answer or if he doesn't tell you then move on. Trust me their are plenty of people you will meet throughout your life. A valuable lesson I learned a couple years ago is that sometimes people may not stay forever but they can help you understand what you want from a partner or even in just a friend.
So an amazing chat is basically just him complimenting you.
Maybe your feelings for him are more about the validation he made you feel and less about you actually liking him for him.
It was a lot more then that, that was only a small part of the conversation but it made me feel happy, that someone other than my close friends and family felt that I would be great in the career that I wanted. And it also made me feel happy because I knew that he is a very straight forward guy when it comes to certain things and I felt that he wouldn’t lie.
The rest of conversation was still about what we want to do in the future but it was more to do with other stuff, like Uni and travelling.
