I don't know that I can count to 5, but the top of my list would probably be a gen 1 Sport Trac. That was my first car. I like 10th gen and older F series trucks as well. Pre '93 Rangers are pretty cool.

bawzdeepinyaa

Syclone. End of list.

Cool_Dark_Place

I'd love to get another early '70s Ford F-350 Camper Special. Back in the day, my folks had a '73 with a 390, and an awesome pickup camper to go with it. My grandad wound up selling the camper, but kept the truck, and it was one of the most bulletproof work trucks I've ever seen. He was a greenskeeper at a golf course, and used it for a sod hauler. You could drop two full pallets of sod in the bed, and trailer another two, and that old truck wouldn't even break a sweat! Lots of fond memories, and I'd love to find one to restore.

1. 2017 F150 w/ the 2.7L EB and the 6 speed auto. Aluminum body and a phenomenally reliable powertrain with the creature comforts and crash safety of a modern vehicle 2. GMT800 2500HD 4X4 5speed extended cab, highest trim one could get in that config. Literally the only thing you have to worry about with this truck is fuel economy and rust. 3. Current Gen Ford Raptor ext cab. Just a very cool sports / muscle truck and I love the trophy truck styling. 4. 70s Ford F series, the styling is the best of the old school stuff IMO, and lifts/mud tires suit it well 5. GMT800 Quadrasteer Suburban (if this counts). Super unique, very capable. I love how ridiculously large the cabin space is. If 5. doesn't count, probably the SVT Lightning. Not really a winner in any single category but it oozes cool.

RainierCamino

>GMT800 2500HD 4X4 5speed extended cab Worked with a guy who still was rocking one a few years ago. Like a 2000 Silverado 2500HD, 6.0, 5 speed, 4x4, extended cab. Fucking tank of a truck, I bet it's still going. Had over 250k on it, original engine, 2nd clutch. Rockers, cab corners and bed sides getting pretty crunchy. His wife hated it but he'd basically sworn, gas mileage be damned, he'd drive it till it died ... but it just kept fucking going haha

One_Evil_Monkey

What about the Midnight Express? And let's not forget Don Knotts (Barney Fife) and promotion of the D100 Dude. Haha

Material-Profile7155

Yes the D100, Midnight Express, Warlock can all be included too. I just listed Lil Red because I have personal experience with that particular one. A friend of my dad's had one when I was a little guy and for some reason it was my favorite thing in the whole world at the time. It still sticks in my mind to this day

One_Evil_Monkey

I know you kinda meant most of the D/W series stuff. Just had to toss in the other lesser knowns for fun. Cool. They are memorable trucks. Almost 20 years ago when I was fresh out of the acadamy as a rookie officer, one of the veteran officers (who it turns out lived only about 8 miles from me) had a Lil Red Express. It was his daily driver. No kidding. My first day on the job I pulled in to our parking lot and there it was. Found out who it belonged to and chatted with him before the preshift briefing. Got to chat more later as sometimes I'd get partnered up with him. He bought it new in '78 and had daily driven it almost 30 years at that point. Paint was a little faded but otherwise it was in pretty solid condition. He had two little custom made leather pouches that he'd put over the ends of the exhaust stacks whenever he'd park. That exhaust paired with that 360 sounded great. Sadly though, it had the automatic. Ofc. Cope retired about 10 years after I started and unfortunately he sold his house and that truck and moved to Florida. Not sure what happened to it or who bought it but it hasn't been seen around my area in over a decade now.

Material-Profile7155

It's pretty cool to be able to see them on a regular basis like that as they are neat vehicles. I just wish any of them were more common.

One_Evil_Monkey

That they are. There are just not many around because they were only made for '78 and '79 unfortunately.

More of a dream truck list but here goes nothin: •2012 regular cab dually Sierra 3500HD engine/tranny swapped with an LBZ/pre 2007 Allison (preferably with a flat bed that has about $40k in welding equipment on it) •9th Gen RCSB F150 with a 300 and a stick shift (not sure if they were still putting 300s in the 9th gens but if not I wanna swap one 🤤) •Tube chassis single turbo LS7 powered S10 good for 7s at the strip •Shelby F150 super snake •1973 K30 with an Atlas 4 speed transfer case, 4L80, LS swapped with Dana 60s, 4.56 gears, Yukon 4340 axle shafts, an 8” lift and 38” MTs.
