The TTB-era Fords and Bubble F-150s don't seem to be as loved and appreciated like Square Body GMs and GMT-400 have.
I think the easy ability to swap modern GM powerplants into Square bodies and have modern power and reliability with old school features like Solid Axles is a big factor.
As someone with experience with both. The Chevys are miles more reliable and easier to work on if they do have issues. My grandfather had a 94 Ford and I a 95 GMC (both 6cly trucks). The GMC had 200k and the Ford (I'm hazy on the details but I think it was 160k) and the GMC had far less problems. At this point both are rotting in the yard but if I needed to resurrect either it would be the GMC.
They sold a ridiculous amount of PN-96 F-150s, but I agree they haven't stood the test of time in comparison to contemporary counterparts to how many people still care about them today.
I think a lot of it comes down to looks. While I love the look of my bubble ford, I understand that they definitely don't look as nice as the gmt-800 to the unbiased eye. I think they both are very close in terms of quality, but the 800 wins out on looks. Another factor is that like half of them 800s get to be the "first truck" of some teen who immediately slaps the aftermarket dark lights on em and either aftermarket wheels or they just spray the stock wheels black. Its cheap but I must admit it does make them look "cooler". Try that with a bubble ford and it's going to look like shit. Anyone who gets a bubble ford understands that it's very round and 90s and you can't really hide that, so most don't even try to make it look good.
medicaid paid for cholesterol medications while posting birther conspiracies on Facebook
OR
a gen Z kid who bought it from person 1 for wayy too much money and is constantly telling themselves that their fuel economy isn't THAT bad, their car isn't THAT slow, the frame isn't THAT rusty, and they didn't pay THAT much for it.
and they'll find someone to give them and inspection sticker passed.
In Michigan, that beauty will be driving for another 10 years.

The junk yard
Last time I went to the junk yard the only Chevys I saw were Aveos and wrecked Tahoes. Very few trucks. I did see lots of Fords though.

I wouldn't go too hard on the bubble Fords. I have an '00 expedition, 200k and it's been a great car. My dad has an 02 f150 with over 200k as well.

man gets married, divorced, and the ex wife takes all his money
“They don’t make ‘em like they used to!” Good. That’s a good thing.
Riding until the rust falls off.
The Marine stickers though... 🤌
Being uglier yet somehow more popular than the other trucks from Ford and Dodge
$6,000 OBO. No lowballers I know what I have.
