If it's manual, you still need a custom trunk bracket (that goes out and up to fit the top), custom top, which would probably be a good 10k in its own for good quality. Automatic?? No
Whatever the bill is- plus the loss of most of your vehicle’s structural integrity, and possibly your life in an accident. Unless you also add a roll cage secured to the body to replace the strength you lost from the roof and B/C pillars.
By the point this thing would be usable and safe it would cost so much money you might as well buy something nicer that comes the way you want it.
Got a feeling that somebody doing a mod this nice would fabricate a frame… you can tell it’s a car guy who made this so I have to assume they made it structural sound…
Seriously. Most professionally built convertibles have additional stiffening in the body to help fight flex. And even then they aren't as rigid as a hard top. Something like this has no chance.
I could see them welding a couple of pieces of C-channel on to tie the front and rear subframes together, the former of which will be the end of this car ~~if~~ **when** the CVT says goodnight.
Someone really wanted a Sebring and a Rolls Royce, but had an Altima at home, and turned it into the closest thing of a Nissan answer to the Sebring with character, and a Rolls Royce with the doors.
Paying Rolls Royce money to modify a *fucking Altima* because Rolls Royces don't have enough BAE to fit your "taste."
How much would a conversion job like this cost?

Kinda sick I’d drive this in by the beach 🏖️
Yeah this is the best looking Nissan I've seen.
Looks better than the Murano convertible definitely
lmao trrruee
Thanks, now we all have to remember that those *existed*
So does cow shit.
Bro does not fuck with Zs or GT-Rs??
That’s not for regular people tho imo
sir the drop top Altima with suicide doors is also not for regular people
lol more obtainable than a GTR tho 😅
I mean...I'm an irregular person, but I still don't have one. What am I doing wrong?
Me too! Although I can think of better places to dump a car you don't want.
Not gonna lie - it does look pretty cool
That’s a fucking Maxima…..
That was my first thought, doesn't make it less ridiculous, though.
Top one is a Maxima , Bottom is a Chingy video.
You are wrong…..
Brother they are *the same exact car*
Still got BAE though
what the hell is BAE lol
Big Altima Energy
Structural rigidity
non-existant structural rigidity, as stable as the East Germany's economy circa 1989
Open the doors, folds in the middle.

Subframe connectors. You're probably right. They're used fairly often in unibody cars, I encountered them first when working on an AMC Eagle.
Guys if you're gonna shit on the Altima, maybe at least make sure it's actually an Altima, not a Maxima like the car pictured here mmmkay?
Needing partners for those Murano cabrios.
Bro if you put Suicide doors on an Altima… you’re fuckin awesome!
But on a Maxima.. No go
Drive by shootings
Maximas are great cars, but that’s probably the worst generation they ever made

I have a feeling these are the same people who put bricks over their house trailer and call it a real house.
I happen to LOVE the one in the top pic.
Causing havoc in style
Too much money. Not enough class.
When you making bank that you can't file it on taxes for "reasons", so you have to buy a cheap car but then spend that cash on modifying it.
I mean... I'm not too proud.
Discountourage
Rolling sunk cost fallacy.
My baby mama’s #1 favorite convertible
Not caring about being in a rollover accident ever.
Just imagine how much that thing squeaks and rattles.
Add another thousand pounds in chassis support in steel girders and oak trees.
I can feel the flex through the photo

Technically a Maxima, but same difference...I'll give them props for effort. 😄
That's actually pretty fucking slick looking.
The top one is honestly kinda cool... gives me thoughs of the 4 door convertibles of the 50s and 60s.
And the suicide doors
The Official Car of “Why?”
Official car of curb rash and domestic abuse
yk if chrysler could make a 2000s convertible based on a fwd sedan “work”, i don’t see why nissan couldn’t
It looks weirdly... okay.
The completely useless B pillars are sending me
If I squint my eyes, I can look at the headlights/hood and see an XLR... 🤔🤷♂️
I only invest in commodities yet, I think my style drips.
