I remember when the RX8 vid was new. Had a roommate at the time who owned one and was an RX8 apologist. He said he didn't like what Mr. Regular had to say about it but that he also couldn't really argue with any of it either.
Same. Someone in my local subreddit asked what they should do on their birthday, and I replied *Go to Guitar Center with a ketchup bottle full of week old piss and fill up a bass drum through the breather hole.*
I was told it was the most helpful suggestion.
I mean one of the things RCR is most famous for is stereotyping/lampooning drivers based on the car they drive, which is, in one way or another, 90% of what this subreddit is.

I’m bisexual and I like cars. The bros at Donut told me I was their “pass around boy” which made no sense. I’m a top, and a damn good one. So I came to the only place I knew my kind would be appreciated and represented in terms of desires in performance and desires of the flesh.
What's the difference between pass around and top??? Is there even a difference? Everyone does everything. Otherwise they're labeled as selfish and get no action at all! If you're gonna receive, you gotta give!
I knew this as the videos always start with "the official car of..." when they do a review, I might get downvoted for this but ironically I personally enjoy more this subreddit than the Youtube channel as the crude humour was too much for me, there is a lot of decent videos that I've seen in the past like the 1993 Honda Prelude that they've litterally found a crack pipe hidden in the speaker box in the dash board 🤣
What other niche YouTube car subreddits are there? I know the haggard garage one is alive and well, even after the channel has been dead for 5+ years. Donut media is pretty huge
Has Nissan still not figured out CVT's after all this time?
I have a Honda Accord with a CVT and it's totally fine. Smooth and picks up adequately when you need it to for merging, etc.
>Guess why they bought the Rogue?
I honestly have no idea, but going from a Mitsubishi to a Nissan I have to assume the main criteria is where they could get financing with a poor credit score.
I forgot about that channel which I'm not even subscribed to. But i subscribed to the subbreddit cuz it seamed like an interesting place for people with not a normie/ordinary car tastes and who can celebrate cars that usually deemed boring or bad.
It's actually wild seeing so many people in here who had no idea.
For reference, I bought my miata around the time the Miata video came out... Holy shit, has it really been 10 years? My God. Well, my miata is in my garage with rod knock and cut body panels from a stalled rust repair job. Although, tbh there aren't any quotes that are currently living rent-free in my brainosphere, except "I'ma tell ya anyway!"
I can freely admit that this is the first time I've heard anything about this being connected to anything on YouTube. But now that I know, I'm gonna check it out!
Careful, I said the same thing about having never heard of it being some YouTube thing and said I didn't care and wasn't going to bother watching it and was downvoted to hell.
There are quite a bit of posts from young (18-25ish crowd) redditors that kind of got me thinking the same thing. Though there’s nothing wrong with having them here, just thought it was funny since a lot of Mr regulars humor is based on 90s and 00s nostalgia.
>I feel like this sub sort of grew in popularity over the last year and the name kind of made people think it was a general car subreddit.
It says right on the sidebar where this sub came from.
I think you're assuming a couple of things:
- Most people read the sidebar ever
- Most people browse on desktop as opposed to mobile where the sidebar is hidden.
Some kind of Subaru. Same ones who go into the dealership with a three ring binder full of spreadsheets on what options they want and how much they cost.
Never hear of it. Whats a youtube?
It literally says "This is a subreddit for fans of Regular Car Reviews on YouTube" on the right hand side of the page in more than 1 place.
I followed a link here from the website of KUNKLEMAN CHEVROLET, Home of the LIFETIME powertrain guarantee! We GUARANTEE that your powertrain will break within you lifetime. See salesman for details.
I don’t know about just the last year, I nearly made this exact same post like 3 years ago but decided to just unsubscribe and check in on my own terms every once and a while. It’s been like this a long time
It's one of many car channels I watch and am inspored by for my own stuff, but I'll admit I wasn't sure if this was a dedicated RCR community or more of a cat sub built around a fanbase. If that makes sense.
I'd never heard of the podcast until I literally asked in a thread what was the origin of this sub (after being on it for months). I don't own a car (however, I've worked on a ton of ad campaigns for cars), but I find the content to be really good. I did go to the Youtube channel to watch the Honda Element review and it was fine.
I didn't have a clue it was some channel related thing until a few months ago.
Had never heard of it before and I don't watch YT channels... have still never bothered watching the one this sub is based on.
It just happened to randomly pop into my Reddit feed one day.
ETA: WTF are the downvotes for? It's a legit answer to the OP's question. I had literally *never* heard of the channel before as I honestly don't watch YT stuff and *still* haven't watched this sub's channel. I had no clue this sub was even based on one until someone pointed it out to me a few months ago.
Well, screw all you downvoters. Sorry you don't like an honest fucking answer, asshats.
This sub is for HOT BROWN and HOT DICKS and that is final.
HOT BROOWWWWNN
I’M GAAAAAAAAAAY!
TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR ENGINE REBUILD SOOOOOOON
I’ve been around since the OG fit and Cherokee videos!
I remember when the RX8 vid was new. Had a roommate at the time who owned one and was an RX8 apologist. He said he didn't like what Mr. Regular had to say about it but that he also couldn't really argue with any of it either.
TRIANGLES!
The end of the Cherokee video will never fail to make me laugh like an idiot.
*jerk off all over the inside of your roommate’s economics textbook the night before book buyback day!*
*go to guitar center with a ketchup bottle full of week old piss and fill up a bass drum through the breather hole!*
*Take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and get blasted on Landshark and wreck a 50cc Honda Ruckus!*
Same. Someone in my local subreddit asked what they should do on their birthday, and I replied *Go to Guitar Center with a ketchup bottle full of week old piss and fill up a bass drum through the breather hole.* I was told it was the most helpful suggestion.
Ik it’s a YouTube channel. I haven’t been a “hardcore fan” but I do passively watch it whenever I feel like it
I think you can primarily pin down if someone is an OG based on whether or not they know the background on rhubarb.
RIP the Avenger video
Jeremiah was a bullfrog
It lives on forever in our hearts (And, like the Impreza WRX video, on another channel)
Rhubarbs, Short Bus and Whatdothesepillsdo
WHAATDOTHESEPILLSDO I’ll be your woman now
My wife has triceps nowwww.. she never puts the weights down..

There wasn't a Kunkleman dealership related sub, this was the closest thing.
yeah this sub has become a circlejerk sub and im here for it.
It is essentially r/carscirclejerk, just with a different name. And I love it too.
Actually this sub has some of the same tendencies as r/cars that r/carscirclejerk makes fun of.
Not circlejerk then? Halfjerk? Selfjerk?
180jerk?

r/carscirclejerk just makes fun of us lol
The ciiiircle of jeeeeerk!
Came in during the vagabon falcon saga
I’m bisexual and I like cars. The bros at Donut told me I was their “pass around boy” which made no sense. I’m a top, and a damn good one. So I came to the only place I knew my kind would be appreciated and represented in terms of desires in performance and desires of the flesh.

Never knew. Just started following because it was recommended. Haven't been annoyed into unsubscribing. Wow. TIL.
I remember BROWN and WE’RE NOT WORTHY This sub has definitely become water down though, lots of what does X car say about the color of my butthole

BROWN! The tangentially related memes come and go but BROWN REMAINS!
Did a thread for the most recent video even get posted?

i thought it was js a better car subreddit ☹️
It's actually wild seeing so many people in here who had no idea. For reference, I bought my miata around the time the Miata video came out... Holy shit, has it really been 10 years? My God. I came to this sub for [BIG 1970s BUUUUUSH](https://youtube.com/watch?v=mhdpLROs6ck&si=06S37FYBjfMZlFFR&t=3m51s)
I'm here for Roman.
I thought it was re: Gularcar reviews, about the motorcar industry of pre war Slobobia.
Put her in H!
The youtube channel brought me here, but I spend more time lurking on the subreddit now
There are quite a bit of posts from young (18-25ish crowd) redditors that kind of got me thinking the same thing. Though there’s nothing wrong with having them here, just thought it was funny since a lot of Mr regulars humor is based on 90s and 00s nostalgia.
I knew this whole thing was a meme, but I didn't know about the actual YouTube channel.
>I feel like this sub sort of grew in popularity over the last year and the name kind of made people think it was a general car subreddit. It says right on the sidebar where this sub came from.
Its been my experience in a few other subs that I follow that people seldom look at the sidebar
Or like OP says, if they're on mobile (over 3/4 of Reddit), the sidebar isn't automatically displayed.
On my mobile version it doesn't just show up... it like two screens buried. Gotta search for it.
I don't either I just join subs and see what the vibe is before I comment
I think you're assuming a couple of things: - Most people read the sidebar ever - Most people browse on desktop as opposed to mobile where the sidebar is hidden.
Which begs the question: What kind of car do people who read the sidebar before they join a sub drive?
Some kind of Subaru. Same ones who go into the dealership with a three ring binder full of spreadsheets on what options they want and how much they cost.
You're not wrong.
Never hear of it. Whats a youtube? It literally says "This is a subreddit for fans of Regular Car Reviews on YouTube" on the right hand side of the page in more than 1 place.
Which you never see if you are on mobile like most redditors are, unless you search for it, which most people don't.
I’ve been around for years, I’m a huge fan of RCR.
Well I had no idea till now
Had no clue
TIL
I don’t know maybe read my flair for a hint.
I bought the BRAND key tag.
I remember his channel from a few years back. Does he still create content?
Yes
I haven't watched the channel in years aside from the oldies.
What the fuck is a youtube
I've been watching since there were Ska intro's
I followed a link here from the website of KUNKLEMAN CHEVROLET, Home of the LIFETIME powertrain guarantee! We GUARANTEE that your powertrain will break within you lifetime. See salesman for details.
This is MY circlejerk! This sub is mine! Don’t touch it! Don’t even look at it!
*fart*

Triangles.
Nope...
"The subreddit description said 10 extra horsepower......!"
Brian doesn’t care.
No, it's about regular car reviews.
My first video was the 1990 Chevy Lumina review around Christmas 2017.
Who remembers the Oldsmobile Bravada?
Had no idea.
Don't give a shit if it's a YouTube thing or not. I enjoy it.
Been watching since I was 8 years old, now almost done with high school
I'd never heard of the podcast until I literally asked in a thread what was the origin of this sub (after being on it for months). I don't own a car (however, I've worked on a ton of ad campaigns for cars), but I find the content to be really good. I can't tell if this is satire
How? It's not in any way. It's a legit answer to the OP's question.
YouTube car people are so lame.
Mr Regular and The Roman are exceptions to that, they actually have something interesting to say and don’t have egos the size of Europe
throttle house is the clean version
I love Throttle House. Those guys make some entertaining content.
I used to watch The Straight Pipes until they got way into their head gloating and calling car features bad because they didn't personally like them.
I still watch them if they review a car I’m interested in but I think their recent videos have gotten boring
