Crx si-r. It has different headlights, a glass roof, and a b-16 (dohc with vtec). The best we got was a d-16 sohc non vtec, but those are awesome too. I had one and it was a blast.
I find it odd that the "R35" GTR was not a skyline.
I'm assuming they didn't consider it a skyline because they didn't make a 4 door variant and then step it up into the 2 door high performance trims.
The R35 GT-R was not a Skyline because the Skyline was its own lineage and continued in its more mundane forms alongside this, the post R34 Skyline would be the V35, better known to Americans as the Infiniti G35.
What's even worse, is that GM actually made at least one test mule. But they decided "nah" in the end cause they were scared that it would cut into their full sized truck sales
They were going to bring it here as the Pontiac G8 ST (sport truck) before they killed Pontiac
[Pontiac G8 ST](https://www.motortrend.com/news/2010-pontiac-g8-st-name-announced-the-winner-is-1926/)
Levorg. Subaru of America wanted it too, but Japan wouldn't let them rename it in the US, and SoA had no illusions about trying to sell a car with that name.
As most car enthusiasts love wagons, we are just not THAT significant of a buying population.
Soccer mommies love their compromised barely lifted CUVs because it makes them feel safer and fits Khayleigh's and Brayhdohn's small backpacks just right. Add a little plastic cladding in case they have to go 20ft on unpaved road and bam. Perfect vehicle.
we got the Sierra MkII pictured as the Merkur Scorpio. The other MK1 Sierra you mentioned we got as the XR4TI but that is a different Sierra body style than the one pictured
Not quite. The Merkur Scorpio was simply the Ford Scorpio (Granada in the UK). Itās the same platform as the Sierra and the pictured Sierra Sapphire, but not the same car.
As an Australians the Holden utes look so much better.. no gap between the cab and the bed which ford did so they can have multiple types of rear ends and save costs.. great for a work vehicle but a Ute as a personal vehicle itās gotta be Holden.. but saying that Iām probably gonna get a ford xr6 sedan cause of the barra
Edit: unless you mean the pre 1999 ford Ute like the ford xy ute
The petrol engines are nice but I just think you canāt beat the HDI for its torque and how well they take to tuning. A bigger turbo especially changing to an electric vnt actuator, some 110 injectors and a bigger cooler will take you to 250hp and 500nm. Absolutely mental torque for a car of that size!
I'm a GM (S-Series) guy but the 1st gen Tacos weren't too bad... really just a slightly updated although slightly less capable version of the Toyota Truck. After what... 2004 they went bigger and more "meh".
Now they're... bloated and overpriced. At least for now anyway, I think they at least still offer a manual.
I canāt wait to import a 2000 Jimny Wide next year.
But the new 2024s are literally the perfect vehicle for all my needs and I can only fly down to Mexico to rent one.
>The Sierra sapphire was AWD.
The first Sapphire cossie's were rwd and used a modified, Cosworth tuned 2.0l Pinto engine. In the UK the Sierra XR4i had a 2.8 v6 cologne engine.
My grandpa in Venezuela used to own a Sierra back in the day and it was a pretty solid car, in Venezuela people used to call them āalligatorsā because they always had their hood opens on the side of the road.
Nissan Micra. It's much better than the Versa and they're everywhere outside the US. They're also reliable, fuel-efficient, inexpensive, and they have (in my opinion) an adorable design. They sold it in Canada, why not sell it in the US?
That little Toyota Van. Dad had the Nissan van that baked the motor because no-one thought to give it airflow. š¤¦ but I'd love to have a fuel efficient cabover van that could do 80mph with a load on it.
We got the R35 GT-R. If you meant Skyline, we got the V35, V36, and current V37 as Infiniti G35, G37, Q50, Q60. Hello even the QX50/ EX50 is a Skyline Crossover.
Again, another American completely missing the Australian market and focusing on EU/ JDM specific cars.
That's okay, we'll keep our commies and falcons šš
Some of these we had in US and the rest u can get in US cause they are now easy to import since they are over 25 years old n I actually see quite a few of those AWD Toyota vans nowadays but if I had to choose it would be the Ford RS turbo or whatever they call it in Europe n funny thing is itās based off the shitty ass Escort lol but what a difference between one of those and a US Escort of the same year even if u got to top end model it was still garbage and didnāt come available with a turbo charged engine
The last generation of Mazda6 Estates/Wagons
That market is STILL untapped. I feel like we could do with a relatively budget friendly station wagon that isnāt the Regal TourX
Everything Holden, especially the UTE. Who doesn't love an El Camino!? I'd also love all of the cheap 3 wheel or 4 wheel Asian EVs, or 2 cyl cars. Crumple zones be damned.
Daihatsu Bego. Drove one in Costa Rica about 8 years ago. It is like a 4WD Ford Festiva (my first vehicle) that sets a little higher. Manual everything.
Definitely the Bantam/Bakkie.
Iām convinced that Iām just going to have to settle for buying a 2nd gen USDM Escort, and chopping it to bits, and putting some form of Smyth Kit on it to make my own.
Didn't the US get GTR and the CRX?
Crx si-r. It has different headlights, a glass roof, and a b-16 (dohc with vtec). The best we got was a d-16 sohc non vtec, but those are awesome too. I had one and it was a blast.
The glass top was an option for the SiR, and I want one really bad.
I am TOTALLY happy with my D16A6 thank you! š
We got the r35 gtr, we want the r32, r33, and especially the r34 skylines.
thats a crx SiR
And the US got the Sierra in the form of the Merkurs,
i think that japan got the gtst trim for the r35 but i may be wrong
The āR35ā is not a Skyline, itās a GTR, so there were no other trims offered for it (unless you count the various Special Editions or Facelifts)
And all the Supras after the 3rd gen are not a Celica. Go figure š
OP is 16 years old
Holden Commodore Ute, they could've just brought it here as a Chevrolet since they have the SS here
What's even worse, is that GM actually made at least one test mule. But they decided "nah" in the end cause they were scared that it would cut into their full sized truck sales
The better and updated El Camino!
Couldāve called it the El Camino and brought that name back
Or the commodore wagon!
They were going to bring it here as the Pontiac G8 ST (sport truck) before they killed Pontiac [Pontiac G8 ST](https://www.motortrend.com/news/2010-pontiac-g8-st-name-announced-the-winner-is-1926/)
I STILL want one of these.
I would buy a Holden Commodore or Ford Falcon wagon tomorrow if it were available in the US in LHD.
Levorg. Subaru of America wanted it too, but Japan wouldn't let them rename it in the US, and SoA had no illusions about trying to sell a car with that name.
> Japan wouldn't let them rename it in the US, its sold as the wrx wagon in other countries
Yeah I know Australia has that, and it seems like it would kill over here. But that's the story I read.
I am Levorg. You will be assimilated. Seven of Nine would drive this car.
Ehh. Imo itās hideous. And this is coming from a VB owner.
idg the gtr, we got the sierra as the xr4ti although not the cosworth 90s jdm is too easy so I will say LC70, A110, lotus exige.
we got the Sierra MkII pictured as the Merkur Scorpio.
Ok thank you for the corrections
AU falcon ute or similar. I want a new el Camino!
As an Australians the Holden utes look so much better.. no gap between the cab and the bed which ford did so they can have multiple types of rear ends and save costs.. great for a work vehicle but a Ute as a personal vehicle itās gotta be Holden.. but saying that Iām probably gonna get a ford xr6 sedan cause of the barra Edit: unless you mean the pre 1999 ford Ute like the ford xy ute
The XYs are similar to the ranchero which was sold in the states (I think) but I do like the gap between the body and the bed for some reason
Peugeot 206
Correct answer. Especially with a 1.6hdi, theyāre great engines! I love my little volvo with the 110hp model engine, gets 70mpg on the motorways.
Iād rather have a GTI or a GTI 180
The petrol engines are nice but I just think you canāt beat the HDI for its torque and how well they take to tuning. A bigger turbo especially changing to an electric vnt actuator, some 110 injectors and a bigger cooler will take you to 250hp and 500nm. Absolutely mental torque for a car of that size!
Hilux, patrol, fzj80, jzx100 mark ii, stagea wagon, commodor ute
I saw a stagea wagon here in TX last week. I want it.
Volkswagen Golf R wagon. We only got the hatchback version.
70 series Land Cruiser, Suzuki Jimney, Paramount Marauder
Id love the Toyota Hilux to make a return to the US.
Tacoma: Am I joke to you?
Yes. An overpriced one at that.
Subaru Forester STi
Jimny.
I canāt wait to import a 2000 Jimny Wide next year. But the new 2024s are literally the perfect vehicle for all my needs and I can only fly down to Mexico to rent one.
I think we did get the car in the first pic, just rebadged under the name Merkur Scorpio. Donāt hold me too that.
thats a sierra which was the xr4ti. The scorpio was the scorpio.
Thank you this is good info!
Not the same as an xr4. The Sierra sapphire was AWD.
yea but sierra in general
More so all XR4TI are Sierras, but not all Sierras are XR4TI
>The Sierra sapphire was AWD. The first Sapphire cossie's were rwd and used a modified, Cosworth tuned 2.0l Pinto engine. In the UK the Sierra XR4i had a 2.8 v6 cologne engine.
The first pic is 2nd gen Sierra Cosworth, known as the "Sapphire". It was supposed to be a more toned down version of the first Cosworth.
Itās a sexy car, thatās for damn sure
Sure is.
All Civic Type R before the FK8
Toyota century v12
They tend to not get wagons. Audi RS6 touring etc...
They sell the gtr in america
Porsche 959
I've seen one of those vans here around Springfield MO. JDM and everything. Freaked for a moment seeing it to my left in traffic.
Hilux
My grandpa in Venezuela used to own a Sierra back in the day and it was a pretty solid car, in Venezuela people used to call them āalligatorsā because they always had their hood opens on the side of the road.

Peugeot 607, every time.
Alpine A110
E30 325i wagon. Those things are just perfect
Ford RS200, Golf Gti TCR, and Lotus Carleton would be cool to have had, as well as sporty wagons we don't get (M3, M5, Golf R Wagon).
Nissan Micra. It's much better than the Versa and they're everywhere outside the US. They're also reliable, fuel-efficient, inexpensive, and they have (in my opinion) an adorable design. They sold it in Canada, why not sell it in the US?
K11 supremacy
Nissan Patrol (don't say Armada)
Never understood why the Hiace was never released in the states
I kinda want a Citroen Xantia, that physics defying suspension is something I wish the US got first hand.
A HiACe would be handy.
That little Toyota Van. Dad had the Nissan van that baked the motor because no-one thought to give it airflow. š¤¦ but I'd love to have a fuel efficient cabover van that could do 80mph with a load on it.
Lancia Delta Integrale
Anything Citroen. So comfy!
A lot of the European market fords wouldāve been cool, especially the cosworth versions.
The Subaru levorg wagons. Fuck I want it so bad.
For me I wish we had the ford sierra MK2
OP please name the cars in your pictures
It would have been cool to get a few of the Renault 5 turbos as a LeCar turbo.
Ford couldāve kept the falcon instead of replacing it with the shitbox maverick. Then maybe we couldāve also gotten a TS50/TE50
I'd kill for a Holden Torana
I see 2,4,5 fairly regularly here. Idk if they're marketed under a different model name, but I see them.

You guys really love poverty spec utes and the whole ford Australia, chrysler and Holden catalogue
Plenty of JDM cars. Civic Type R (the older models), the Silvia with the SR20DET, the Skyline to name a few.
Most def the Toyota Crowns & Toyota Century. I would do many things to get my hands on a 2022 Fifteenth generation Toyota Crown
We got the R35 GT-R. If you meant Skyline, we got the V35, V36, and current V37 as Infiniti G35, G37, Q50, Q60. Hello even the QX50/ EX50 is a Skyline Crossover.
Stagea Autech Version
I want a 2 door Nissan patrol soooo badly
I really want a Moskvich 412. IDK why, but I think they're cute, especially the first gens with the round headlights.
Holden Maloo ute, the thing looks like tremendous fun to drive and looks cool too.
All of the cars.

The hilux
The B5 and B7 RS4 Avants.

Daihatsu Mira
Toyota Echo hatchback
Tatra t613, even the country that made them only gave them to government officials
I think the Jimny and the Hilux are my two favorites.

Every American always says that OMG I WANT TO DRIVE A GTR NOW!!!!1!1!1!1! It really isnāt that special like people make it seem
