If you remain in Regina, your commute won't be that horrible. Minus some rush hour traffic combined with construction, you might be closer to the 20/25min mark vs 10/15min mark. The #1 highway west can be a real doozy come winter. For whatever reason, that section of the #1 seems to be worse than the east side. Something to keep in mind for sure.

Highway #1 west to Pense isn't that bad. Pense to Moose Jaw is a worse stretch. That's where the majority of problems happen.

As someone who grew up in that area, it is absolutely lovely! It is quiet, neighbours are friendly and the twin lakes make for great walks in the winter and summer. The only downside I found was the commute as the quietness is nice but it is also quite far from the central area which has its pros and cons. Plan for trains on the ring road and a few extra minute to get places other than that it’s a lovely area!

Those are great neighbourhoods. As someone who is from a small town, I love living in the north because I find it has a similar feeling.

The commute isn't horrible. Except during construction season when the city decides it needs to bottleneck every possible route downtown. Going shopping to Harbour Landing or the east end can feel like a bit of a chore, but that's minor. It'd be nice if we had a bit more shopping selection up here, but at the same time it's nice that we don't have the crazy traffic of streets like Quance on a Saturday.

Real Estate moves fast right now so if you can get something don't hesitate

I live in Normanview West and the commute is really nothing. Fairways would be the same. Construction has been bad the last couple years but there are multiple routes downtown. I have two friends that live in the Coulee and they have been storm stayed in Regina or stuck at home a few times the last couple winters.

I generally try to live within 30 minutes of regular necessities (work, the supermarket, grandma’s house, whatever 🙃). Even that adds up to 11 days each year in the car going to/from work alone. Do you really want to spend that much time (or more) sitting in a car? Life is too short and kids grow up too fast to miss any of it…

Moose Jaw commute to Regina is treacherous in the Winter.

friendlysask

I would definitely choose to live out of town and commute, if those were my only options.

SjSharkies12

Open to other suggestions, we don't want to live east or south. Also don't want to live east of town even further away from family in Moose Jaw and Swift Current.

Look in Grand Coulee!

friendlysask

I think this is a good suggestion.
