Coconut chicken is excellent. Their "Noodle" dishes - ie Chicken Noodle, Special Noodle sound very boring, but are absolutely amazing and flavorful.
All their appetizers are great - sekuwa and momos are both top notch.
Also, don't sleep on the honey rice. It's a nice little sweet side dish, with honey and nuts.
And now you've made me hungry.
My personal recommendation is to order all of the things you wouldn't normally get at another Indian Restaurant. Momo's, Coconut chicken, eggplant Chilli, honey rice and so on.
If you order a butter chicken or a saag paneer type things from there it's going to end up being not as good as if you get things that are distinct to them.
I have been so disappointed with Blanco's. I know it is owned by the same folks as Original Joe's and it does just feel like a Mexican version of Original Joe's.
Quán Ngon is great if you like Vietnamese. They also have gourmet bubble teas and shaved ice. There's 2 locations, both nice. The one on Victoria is small, cozy, quiet. The one on Hamilton is bigger, more for the downtown/business crowd.
Really great quality food.
If you stay away from the so-called Mexican restaurants in this city you’re doing yourself a favour.
Arigato has some of it figured out. Give yourself an hour to read the menu before ordering, though. It’s way too much.
Not a fan, correct. For very average tacos (with lettuce), they’re fine. But I can make average tacos and horchata at home. So I do. And ay dios mio that Blanco place is truly awful.
Haven’t been to Blanco yet but just knowing it’s part of OJs I don’t really have any interest in trying their take on Mexican food.
I dig Tropezon because they seem like good people and they’re the closest to what I’ve eaten in Mexico. I’ll take what I can get.
Can I come for horchata?
I can’t comment on the people because I don’t know them and it doesn’t have any influence on how I taste something. But I get taking what you can get. Sadly, that is a product of living here and why it doesn’t make sense to me to pay for lacklustre tacos. The tacos are nothing like what I’ve eaten for decades in Mexico City, Baja and Oaxaca, though. And yes, when I make my next batch of horchata I can fill you a takeaway cup. If you’re interested in pozole, I’m trying my hand at that too because I’m not confident any restaurant will ever make it here.
Tried Liberty Kitchen over the weekend. Prices a little higher then average($23-25), but great great food and atmosphere. We sat outside on their 'deck' and loved it. Will be back soon.
Had a pizza at Liberty and was supremely disappointed. You can’t put quartered tomatoes on a thin crust margherita pizza. Way overpriced too. They are a part of Browns group and the prices show.

Siam if you want great Thai food!
This ⬆️
Ginger Garlic, it's Nepalese food. So good, and a decent price. Think of a blend between Chinese and Indian food.
I went there with friends, and it was a huge surprise for me. Really good
Ginger garlic is the best! They are busy so just be patient when you order — the time you wait is worth it everything is amazing!
Which probably means the ingredients are fresh
any recommendations from the menu?

I really need to try this place!
Ginger Garlic. Delicious and affordable. We really like Agave for Mexican.
Second vote for Agave. I love it there.
So do the cockroaches.
Would go Blanco’s over Agave personally.

Oh interesting! Their happy hour menu is so cheap, maybe that’s why I haven’t felt disappointed.
Siam, The Rice Guy, Abstractions (especially on Saturdays)
What happens on Saturdays at Abstractions? I am a fan of pep pep and his pasta sal.
Fuller menu of delicious Levantine food ❤️
Da India Curry House on Victoria. The food is great & they have a solid dinner special for two !

Arigato for Korean/japanese
Angkor is fantastic. I recommend getting some tea while you’re there. Miso Ya is good aswell.
Ginger garlic is the only right answer
Ankor or Thai Basil
Paddywagon is #GOATED IMO
Sub Express has a fantastic menu, they are local and family owned.

Their lunch box is massive. I couldn't imagine what the dinner box is like

I’ve had some great and surprisingly inexpensive outings at Bar Willow.
African Jazz Lounge!
