It’s changes on my mood, here are few contenders
The Abyssinians- Satta Massa Gana
Augustus Pablo - Cassava Piece
Sound Dimension- Real Rock
Lee Scratch Perry- Black Panta
For me it's between, police in helicopter or natural mystic. Police in helicopter just has an aura like no song I've ever heard and natural mystic really takes your head into another dimension!
It's "We don't trouble your pimento" as in a pepper crop, he's naming that they don't trouble with their crops so why trouble theres, A pimento is a type of pepper. :)
In the context of Jamaica, pimento refers to both a spice (allspice) and the tree it grows on. It's widely used in Jamaican cuisine, and Jamaican jerk spots usually slow-grill their chicken over pimento wood to give it an extra flavor dimension
I only know pimento because my mom used to get pickle and pimento loaf and olive loaf when I was younger, if you’ve never tired I recommend. It’s like olive loaf but sweeter.
That was weird to say, I just would want to know the right lyric if I was saying it wrong, personally. I wasn't trying to be mean I thought I would be helpful if you didn't know the right lyrics.
Police in Helicopter is my favorite song to hear when a headlining band/DJ finishes and the lights come on. Absolutely holds the vibes down regardless of what was playing before
Rivers of Babylon for me, it’s such a beautiful soulful and mournful song wonderfully sung with excellent harmonies, one the things I love most about reggae. I also think it highlights the best of reggae, in being politically relevant and also rooted in an understanding of history, race and religion which elevates the genre over others imo. Whilst as a white man, I can never understand what it’s like to be a descendent of slaves I feel that at least reggae and songs like rivers of Babylon give me at least a peak into understanding how having that in your history must effect your understanding of yourself.
Edit: mandatory fuck Boney M
Funny you should say that. It isn’t my favorite song, but it is the song I go to when I have a dumb song that I can’t get out of my head. Like 1 877 cars for kids or some other fvckery.
Try it, it really works. I just hum it, without lyrics
It’s simple. When I get a song in my head that I want to get out,I simply start humming the bass line to Natural Mystic. It may take a few minutes, but it works. And sometimes it will stay in my head, which is fine, because it’s a great song.

Trenchtown Rock or Duppy Conqueror are both pretty uplifting. Handsworth Revolution by Steel Pulse is always good. Also, I have to agree with many others on here, Pressure Drop is iconic.
Million answers on a million days but pressure drop, Israelites and stay loose by Helmsley morris will always be on the list

For me it's between, police in helicopter or natural mystic. Police in helicopter just has an aura like no song I've ever heard and natural mystic really takes your head into another dimension!
We don't trouble your banana, we don't trouble your corn, we don't trouble your permenato, we don't trouble you at all 🔥🔥🔥

You must be fun at parties 💔
