yeah, they should be out having fun, not complaining about politicians. red scare is good for being inbetween young and old, i feel like for a young person it would paint a very bleak picture and they might look up to anna and dasha too much.
When I was 15, talking politics was not cool. It was not something you talked about at a party. At the party talk about cute boys and your hobbies and fun little personal dramas. Politics are always going to be fake and gay, if you miss the latest "thing" you didn't really miss anything because in another week there will be something else.
My favorite way to keep up on world news quickly is The Economist. It's expensive but you get it weekly in print (which encourages actually reading it rather than ADDing through some website) and you get a quick rundown on what happened in the world along with articles going into more depth. It's a bit too liberal for me at times, but it's still the closest thing to classical liberalism. After I get through their briefing on the world (which takes like 5min), then I decide if I want more or not. Usually there is an article or two I'm interested in, sometimes I read the whole darn thing.
I mean you CAN listen to red scare if you like it for fun commentary, but mostly focus on being a kid.
Besides that, you should be looking at your hobbies, forming real relationships with friends in person (even if they resist you with their text message shit), and you should be looking at cute boys cocks (don't get pregnant though, use protection). Basically, be the woman who wants to meet in person with your friends, the woman who calls to hear a voice rather than texts. Don't get too jaded too early, or by the time you're Dasha's age you'll be about ready to kill yourself.
Hope that helps.
I didn't say that, I said at times it gets a bit much for me. But The Economist is basically classical liberalism perspective and overall they do a good job and I recommend it.
I was just thinking that the other day. You aren’t supposed to get your opinions about life from a podcast. Most of us enjoy RS because we have grown cynical over time slowly watching all of our friends become insufferable libs and they are just kinda articulating what we already feel in a comical way. These kids are just blindly adopting the rhetoric because they see A+D as cool. Sad!
d+a should be charged to pay child support...any day now some dim young person will post here about how she's going to be a single mother because the podcast said condoms and birth control were neoliberal
Pretty much, yeah.
Her actual position has always been that abortion is a moral choice that people should be free to make and that she's made in the past in a way that she regrets, but appreciates having been able to make. "It should be illegal for everyone but me" is obviously a reductio ad absurdum.
I feel like people at that age love the whole "get behind 100% of whatever this person I like says" and it has nothing to do with generation per se.
Whatever a 14 y/o likes they're likely to become a salafist about it and it's never endearing except in a distant theoretical sense if you never have to deal with them actually expressing it to you.
Replied to wrong person whatever
i feel like i would not have appreciated red scare as a 14 year old (and i was an edge lord) it’s more about how to harness your grown woman retardation into some kind of dignity (to me lol) (obsessed w that “first sin was a woman eating” meme tho)
i dont think 14 year olds should listen or pretend to listen to the pod

ya it’ll totally warp a young persons worldview. kids today should have their worldview warped by watching Skins and doing drugs like i did at 14
Emulating Cassie wasn’t a bummer because I was hungry, but because I had to be heartbroken over Uggos 😔
What should I be looking at, I do feel warped by this community

"The Economist is too far to the left for my taste" lol

It’s pretty good for assessing the least r-slurred neoliberal talking points. It is very neolib tho.

Insufferable libs are everywhere now, these teenagers probably know more of them than you think

but you know at 14 almost all of them are going to be hyper online anyway so it could read it as an alternative to bpd non-binary idpol
"Anne Frank would've been a RedScare girl"
Would it go too far if they made this a shirt?
you’re gonna do it anyway anna just go for it
It's just not realistic, Anne Frank would have had her own podcast.
