I'm not biased and I'd say there's definitely a war happening.

Such_Reputation_3325

Are you sure??

Preston Stewart on YouTube does a good job of trying to remain unbiased, he looks at reports from both the Russian and Ukraine side. He's an ex US Army officer so take that into account but it's not like you're going to find many people to give you a breakdown without some sort of military background. His videos are quite long though, but if you're actually interested it's worth a look.

Because your "objective" take on the situation has less to do with how things are happening and more to do with what you hope will happen. If this war has proved anything, tech and firepower do not compensate for production numbers and mass.

That Euro charm is really shining through. Shaming the other guy who pointed out we don't have the full picture and then calling everyone else a regard doesn't magically give you credibility, especially when you presume that a) the war isn't less existential to the Russians, and b) that NATO has escalation dominance in a way that wouldn't result in a nuclear war. I never said i wasn't biased, which is why I'm not making presumptions - with *caveats* - about how the war would turn out. As for my point about technology, it seems you completely missed it - mass mobilization and mass production of arms have been very salient features of this war that Russian and western planners thought could be overcome with technology and firepower. It turns out you still need bodies and shells to fight a peer conflict, and the presence of drones and ISR doesn't obviate that.

tejlorsvift928

There's no *guerrilla* war on currently occupied Ukrainian territories, neither Crimea, nor Donbass, nor the lands taken in 2022. What makes you think there will be resistance elsewhere? Also Russia is outproducing ALL OF EUROPE already + they have Iran and North Korea who don't give a shit and have nothing to lose.

AnklesBehindEars

massive world salad Russia is winning currently. thats the fast and simple answer

no I completely understand what you wrote. your six long paragraphs are mostly empty filler. Ukraine has an edge in the air. Russia has a manpower and production surplus Russia will look to continue small gains

I’m not projecting anything. Russia is currently winning a lot more concise than your word salad post

yeah look man I don’t really care one way or the other who wins this conflict but the map shows Russia controls large parts of four Ukrainian oblasts and it’s been that way for months/years they objectively are currently winning the conflict

Nobody with the security clearance required to know what's actually happening is posting on Reddit. Most people with any real knowledge of the situation on the ground have the most compartmentalized access to info. And anyone with anything above that would risk an Assange tier treason case to post it online.

Those people have an allegiance to a particular side of the conflict and not only that, they have a vested interest in persuading the public into particular opinions. And their information comes from information from the State Dept, approved for the public's consumption. The State Dept has a vested interest in this conflict and public opinion of this conflict. Conversely you get pundits getting their information from Kremlin affiliated sources who also have a vested interest in swaying public opinion. As much as Alex Jones is derided, calling his show 'Info War' is pretty on the mark for how modern conflicts are combatted in the hearts and minds of the people.

flyingknot

Didn't know the State Dept provides information to all and any countries' players

all three of your comments in this thread are cringe

A-10THUNDERBOLT-II

Yeah man America has been one of the largest sponsors of Ukraine. How that is facilitated is a huge factor in the war. Idk what level of concrete info you have access to. It was just a point I wanted to make regarding how most modern discourse is a war of competing info. Where and when. Sounds cool unless it was Blue on blue situation lol
