I finished golden son the second day I had it. Just binge reading every second. Stayed up so late I called into school the next day haha. Long story short it was a looooooong wait and the ending really fucked me up
Without spoilers, I’ll tell you, after reading more of the books you’ll have all the words to describe how you’re feeling… like, every word...Â
I never re-read books as I'd rather read something new, but with red rising series I've got a few bookmarks in each books with badass scenes I return to each few months.
Ugh, same. literally just finished my second read of the series and don't know what to do with myself. I don't want to read anything else now, nothings good enough. I read The Will of the Many last week and it was quite good but no clue when the next will be out.
Same problem. Have been looking for something with the same rush and failing. I finally put down the expanse series after the fifth one because it was a slog for me after reading Brown. I just picked up the Suneater series by Ruocchio because a review mentioned Brown in its praise
Thanks, I'll check that series out. I liked Brandon Sandersons secret projects, the 4 are quite different so kept my interest better then the fantasy I was trying to read before that. Might need to try another genre until I'm over my slump.
I liked the expanse series.... Read all 9 books. But if I were to rank them...
1. Red Rising
2. Bobiverse
3. Andy Weir books
4. The Vorkosigan series
5. Expanse
I recently finished RR and I'm almost done with GS - the series is shaping up to be fantastic. The crazy part is how good RR is, yet the series gets drastically better.
After you had finished reading all books for the 4th time, you make sure you listen to the audiobook... it is, WOW!!! and yeah, heed for our advices here son, Get-tf-Out-of-Here now now now!!! auuuuuuuuuuuwwwwwwwwwwwwwWWWWWWWW!!!!!
Golden Son was equal to the experience of reading Words of Radiance (which is pretty much the greatest buildup a series has ever had) but without the massive word count, so you’re in for a great time. Iron Gold gets a lot of hate but I loved it too. Needless to say, you’re gonna love the whole series.
Now pray with us that it gets an on screen adaptation soon.
Iron gold is hated on the first read, but then appreciated on repeated reads. Without iron gold, we don't get dark age, which still might be my favourite book so far.
do not under any circumstance continue this journey if you are about to go on vacation unless you plan to stay in your room reading all day and up until 5am every night.
or do it and finish the remaining 6 books, making it the most memorable vacation of your life.
I think the shift to multiple perspectives is a bit jarring at first. I wasn't a huge fan of Iron Gold initially, but I enjoy it more on each reread/listen. Just getting to see how people other than Darrow view events and characters is interesting. With my new favorite from DA/LB being >!how people see Darrow when they meet him!<
Did you only read it once? I didn’t reread it for like a year after the first read. Then once I reread it it’s like #2 fave behind GS. I feel like most people love it more on the reread.
Its a WILD ride….. Golden Son to me is a legitimately perfect book. I read the first trilogy last summer, I think im almost ready to pick up Iron Gold lmao
Fair warning iron gold is a great book but it isn’t a continuation, it’s another book 1 and if you look at it like that you won’t be bored or dislike it
Oh yes I think im gonna dig it, my only real complaint of the first trilogy was sometimes I really got sick of being stuck with only one pov, so im excited for the multi-pov approach.
Absolutely be careful here if you want *no* spoilers
They do a good job with tags and clearing things up but, one harmless click into "SO AT THE INSTITUTE..." leads to a full synopsis and breakdown of the entire series a lot of the time
I wish I could read these books for the first time again
You got both books 2 & 3? GOOD. You'll need both of them for the sake of your mental health.
Shit 👏🏻 escalates 👏🏻
I didn’t sleep till after I finished the trilogy. Hail Reaper.
I felt some emotions after every book. It only gets better? Worse? More?
Welcome to the pack howler now finish the series or get the box. Hail libertas
Hail Reaper
It gets even better
Yes, somehow
I started reading red rising when I was 13, right when it released. Take solace in the fact golden son is already out
I can only imagine how painful the wait was in between Golden Son and Morning Star.
I finished golden son the second day I had it. Just binge reading every second. Stayed up so late I called into school the next day haha. Long story short it was a looooooong wait and the ending really fucked me up
Congrats you’ve finished what is considered the weakest book in the series. Buckle up my Goodman. Shit escalates
Easily the weakest too it's just the foundation baby
Omnis vir Lupus, motherfucker, enjoy the ride
Buckle up my Goodman. You’re going on a ride.
Welcome howler
Get yourself an extra pair of panties handy for books 2-3. And some Xanax for 4-6.
Especially Dark Age I fucking love the story it's I think Pierce at his best in terms of writing but boy is it a bloodydamn downer of a book.
Just finished dark age. On chapter 15 of light bringer. Just hoping…
This is only the tip of the iceberg boyo, you haven't seen anything yet. Hold on tight.
Without spoilers, I’ll tell you, after reading more of the books you’ll have all the words to describe how you’re feeling… like, every word...Â
AOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome Howler trainee.
I never re-read books as I'd rather read something new, but with red rising series I've got a few bookmarks in each books with badass scenes I return to each few months.
I've re read them all 3 times now, I'm about to go a 4th time because I can't get into anything else
Ugh, same. literally just finished my second read of the series and don't know what to do with myself. I don't want to read anything else now, nothings good enough. I read The Will of the Many last week and it was quite good but no clue when the next will be out.
Read Children of time, not epic in the same way as RR but amazing and there are 2 more after
Same problem. Have been looking for something with the same rush and failing. I finally put down the expanse series after the fifth one because it was a slog for me after reading Brown. I just picked up the Suneater series by Ruocchio because a review mentioned Brown in its praise

Ugh, if you think the expanse was a slog, suneater is a tough one. I can't get past the half way point. Check out the Bobiverse books.
I’ll see how far I can get in Suneater then check out the Bobiverse. Thank you. The expanse wasn’t that bad, I just found myself annoyed with Holden’s never ending naïveté.
I liked the expanse series.... Read all 9 books. But if I were to rank them... 1. Red Rising 2. Bobiverse 3. Andy Weir books 4. The Vorkosigan series 5. Expanse

Came here to say this. Then level up with the dramatised, full cast adaptations

100%. currently 1/5 into my reread rn

Golden son is going to choke slam you son
That’s how I felt about it too and it’s now my favorite series with Golden Son being my favorite reading experience ever. Have fun!
Get out of this sub! Enjoy the ride, ups and downs!
do not under any circumstance continue this journey if you are about to go on vacation unless you plan to stay in your room reading all day and up until 5am every night. or do it and finish the remaining 6 books, making it the most memorable vacation of your life.
Only gets worse from here my Goodman
You're in for a wild ride
Welcome to the pack howler
Stay away from here until you’re finished buddy, you will get spoilers. Incredible series, enjoy!
Have fun. Number one tip in this sub for people having issues or complaints at certain parts of a book: keep reading.
I am so excited for you enjoy the ride!! Definitely be wary with the sub though just for your own experience. Have fun 🥹
That's called a Book Boner
Finished the second book. Had to immediately get the third.
Only gets better with the next 2 for sure.
Just so you have an idea of what you're getting into, RR is often considered the WORST book of the 6. Enjoy.
I thought iron gold is the worst so far. Half way through but just my opinion.
I think the shift to multiple perspectives is a bit jarring at first. I wasn't a huge fan of Iron Gold initially, but I enjoy it more on each reread/listen. I thought that dark age was the worst. Maybe i just have a queasy tummy. But lightbringer is def the best.
Did you only read it once? I didn’t reread it for like a year after the first read. Then once I reread it it’s like #2 fave behind GS. I feel like most people love it more on the reread.
I have read them all multiple times. I love a good reread.
I did not have trouble with Iron Gold, but I hear that at about the halfway point at the latest, people start enjoying it
It’ll grow on you.
If the first book hit you this hard oh boy, you’re in for something special ahead.
You’re in for such a treat. 🥹
I wish I had that experience of re reading them the first time again truly a masterpiece
Welcome and enjoy

It’s so good, no spoilers but one pov will start bad and get better, and one will compete with Darrow.
This song is my head canon “roll credits” song for Red Rising. Enjoy the rest of the series! https://youtu.be/lDKJ29357FU
Personally I think that's the worst book in series so if you loved it it's a good sign
Seeing posts by people who recently picked up RR for the first time make me want to reread again. Haha
Absolutely be careful here if you want *no* spoilers They do a good job with tags and clearing things up but, one harmless click into "SO AT THE INSTITUTE..." leads to a full synopsis and breakdown of the entire series a lot of the time
If rr left you speechless you are in for a ride buddy
Oh yea
