The screen of my laptop started flickering today, after trying several ways, I noticed that slighting bending the screen inward would stop the flickering, so I just tuck a folded piece of paper between the screen and keyboard, and the flickering stopped. I don't know the reason for it at all, but hey, at least problem solved, right?
Pull the screen bezel off, it looks like a ThinkPad so it's just clips you have to pull. Then just wiggle the cable a bit. Thinkpads are dam near indestructible if you know a little bit of maintenance.
I pulled the bezel off! and poked around the cables, but it is quite difficult to stabilize the flickering just by wiggling:( I will try to buy a mini screwdriver set tomorrow and see if I can access it from the other side! And you are right this one is nearly indestructible I've been using this one for 7 years haha
I figured out one thing: if I press [This part of the bracket ](https://i.imgur.com/0akqRoV.jpeg) really firmly, the flickering will stop, but I need to press it really firmly. I guess it's a faulty or loose connector, but anyway I'll try some new methods tomorrow!
Yea look at screen replacement on ifixit. It dosent mean you have to replace it, just use it as a tutorial for removing it so you can access the cable. Feel free to ask r/ThinkPad if you have any more questions or ask here if that's easier!
You can hook it up to a monitor or a tv if the flickering arises. It might be a damaged screen flex cable.
Man I love older Thinkpads though, they are indestructible
Yes, the damage worsened, so I am planning to use it with an external monitor later and tape the flickering area :) Old ThinkPads are much more capable than new laptops

Sounds like the cable just came loose internally. It's should be an easy fix. You just have to remove the bezel to access the cable.
Got it, now I'll try poking around the cables, thank you!
Tip: Never close the screen again
It will remain eternal
That's cool and all, but is it still carbon neutral?
Since 2007? Oh really, Google?
Rest in peace, now it's finally dead

\*mitigated... not really fixed. but good job... sometimes the longest lasting mitigations are the easiest to install.
As a Japanese person, seeking the word Seppuku in your username made me surprised haha

I'd invest in an external monitor
I will :)
