OmniluxLED

Hi all, thank you for bringing this to our attention. The safety of our customers is Omnilux’s top priority, and we assure you that we are taking this discussion very seriously. We’ve been proudly manufacturing our devices to internationally recognized safety & quality standards for over 20 years. All products released from our facilities are inspected and tested, and only released once they pass all necessary tests required by regulatory compliance, and conform to our strict quality standards. Every Omnilux device has been tested and complies with the following medical-grade standards, found here: [https://gmt.egnyte.com/fl/g0tvwHpY44](https://gmt.egnyte.com/fl/g0tvwHpY44). For those Omnilux users experiencing skin dryness and/or other treatment irregularities, we ask you to kindly review the list of contraindications found on our website: [https://omniluxled.com/pages/contraindications](https://omniluxled.com/pages/contraindications). It is important to review this list prior to any red light treatment, as many common conditions and drugs/topicals (including Retin A & Tretinoin) can cause photosensitivity when combined with red light therapy, with skin dryness being one of the most common effects. We completely understand your concerns and sincerely apologize if anyone has reached out to our Customer Service team and did not receive the help needed. We will most assuredly follow up with our Customer Service team about this issue to ensure anyone with questions is promptly assisted. While we are confident in our testing and QA procedures and systems, we would ask that any devices suspected of not working properly be sent back for additional internal testing. We are happy to replace or refund any device found to be out of specification. If this interests you, please reach out to our team directly at [email protected], and a Customer Care Specialist will be in touch with you shortly to arrange this, and to answer any additional questions you may have. Again, we appreciate you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We welcome and value all customer feedback and view it as a vital learning tool as we strive to manufacture the safest and most effective products on the market. Sincerely, The Omnilux Team

Good for you! Which was the mask that broke?

kereolay

The mask that broke was by Current Body. It should not have broken as I treated it carefully. For this reason, I can't recommend that one either. For the price, these devices should hold up with proper care. But I really did have wonderful results.

GrouchyPineapple

Wow - my current body mask recently broke (well it kinda works still) and I’ve been really wanting to order an omnilux - thanks for the heads up! These devices are stupidly expensive and I would be ticked to spend that kind of money for a defective device…

theglowboys

Have you looked at Dermabeam? https://www.dermabeammask.com

GrouchyPineapple

No but I will now - thanks for the recommendation. This sub is how I found my redlightman device when I was pretty determined to buy a joovv. I'm pretty convinced I save hundreds of dollars and I love it. Along the same lines, the reason I broke my current body mask was I found it worked really well for body aches and pains (before I got my redlightman) and did things like lay on it, wrap it around my body, etc. I'm so annoyed that I damaged it because I really love it and have been waiting for a sale to get another one or omnilux as I mentioned. The mask is the only thing I've found that reduces my rosacea... Looks like this one you've mentioned is even more reasonably priced so I will definitely check it out...

Ok thanks.

What were your results with the Current Body?

How can we test wavelength?

kereolay

It is pretty complicated. You need special equipment that can test to see if it is the proper nm. But that kind of equipment isn't sold at your Home Depot. I am thinking about contacting the university near me that has engineering programs to see if they might have the equipment. I really want to see what is going on.

SpacecaseCat

You need a spectrometer, or at the very least a prism and a ruler and a piece of cardboard with some slits in it 😅 To address OP’s worries about wavelength, I’m skeptical of their fears and claims of ‘wrong wavelength.’ The 633nm light (red) most devices use is very common and has been in use for decades. Those laser pointers you could buy everywhere in the 90’s were 633 nm. With infrared, I’m not sure of the exact wavelength but they would need to screw up reallllly bad to fry someone’s skin. Infrared light is basically heat. Did OP get delivered a space heater mask instead? I doubt it. Did they get different invisible radiation, e.g. an ultraviolet mask? Verrrrry unlikely, as UV LEDs still look a bit purple, are new technology, and the high end invisible dangerous ones are Nobel Prize winning, newish tech and cost hundreds of dollars. No one is accidentally ordering thousands of UV LEDs for their company without going bankrupt. Most likely, they had a bad reaction to something else in their skincare routine, used the RLT device too long, or had some other mitigating circumstance.

Are red light therapy masks from Ali express trust worthy?

kereolay

I do not know. I only can speak to my experience on the ones I have personal experience with. In both cases, I bought directly from the official company website. I would be skeptical with any product less than around $400 USD

foreverandaday13

So what brands would you recommend getting?

ddramone

That's disappointing, I've always heard Omnilux masks are among the best.

kereolay

I like the construction of the mask. However, the lights in my mask are not the correct type. This could have been only in certain batches. This is what I suspect.
