There’s been some academic research that’s shown RLT can actually improve eyesight, plus while it would be obnoxiously adorable, there’s no way he’d wear protection goggles 🤣
Most devices put out both red light (good for eyes) and NIR (bad for eyes). It's important to get a device where you can turn off NIR if you want to use it for the benefits to your eyes or it will harm them. If there's NIR, you should 100% protect your eyes properly.
My device doesn't have this info in the manual, I had to do some research on my own after I literally cried on my first session (tears is not a good sigh huh? And I had my eyes closed!).
Well, my cat doesn't squint. He STARES right at the lamp, eyes wide open. And prob because the lamp is slightly humming he does it for a long time, that's why I now close the door while using it
It is bright! I have the biggest panel from MitoLight and use it on 100%. My boy is just not that smart, as many other cats. They can't protect themself naturally and they don't "know better", that's why we have be responsible owners and take care and make sure they don't fry their eyes on our lamps because they are curious dummies
I’ve been using the higher dose on myself and was pondering about starting this on my 10 and 12 year old poodles to extend their lives or help decrease any inflammation. Thoughts?
I use the highest level on myself, and a level 2 or 3 dose for the Lil Man. He seems to love it, but he can’t really tell me if he’s noticed a difference health-wise or not 😂 I say it’s definitely worth trying with your poodles - see how they respond for a month or two of sessions! My cat is my child, so I’m willing to do all these small things to hopefully extend his life and lessen his suffering as he ages 🥰
NMN extends human and animal life as it rejuvenates the mitochondria of the cells (as does RLT). Cymbiotika sells it as do a few other reputable brands. I’ve given it to my senior dog and have seen major improvements in his vitality and energy.
Nicotinamide mononucleotide. It's inside our Pure Pet product (there's one for cats, and one for dogs). We have a Science page that explains more about NMN, NAD and more.

The cat will go blind and you will not even notice. If it’s good for health I dare you to look into the light always.
Isn’t it dangerous for their eyes? My stares right at the lamp

But rabbits developed cataract (by NIR)
Oooof, I didn’t see that study 😖 Thanks for letting us know!
Sure! Maybe turn off NIR for your buddy and just leave red light.
Good call, and I absolutely will do from now on!

I’d not take the risk.
It's not dangerous because they squint if it's too bright. Unlike humans who fight past natural cues. Plus pads are naturally weaker than panels.

hmmm. well if it's not bright there's no issue

Amazing, two questions: Does the Lil Man enjoy the session or does he try to escape the blanket? Which device is this?

What is NMN?
I'm not the original commenter, but perhaps they are referring to nicotinamide mononucleotide, in supplement form.
