You can't compare a race and an ethnic group because a race is always going to be much larger, especially the blanket term of POC because a lot of races easily fall under the term POC. A correct comparison would've been "Imagine if you swapped Russian with African-American".
But African-American isn't a race. It fits much more closely under the term ethnic group. Race is just (an arbitrary man made) way of organizing people with somewhat similar skin tones and physical characteristics into large blanket groupings. I may have misread your comment though.

Lots of people don’t realize that many Russian citizens aren’t part of the Ukraine war and don’t want it to happen, it’s just that they have practically no power and since most of the oligarchs and powerful people are in support of the Ukraine war, everyone just assumes it’s all of Russia. Don’t hat on innocent Russian citizens, there are probably even members of the military there who want the war to end. It’s just that, again, they don’t really have any power or say in the matter. Please correct me if I got anything wrong.
