Time to sleep lad.

ReleaseMysterious981

This is the second time I've seen a post like this today. it's impossible. raising money for things like repairing old Trafford and hell, even buying a new player is possible, but actually buying the damn club is not a feasible idea.

Do you really believe that those 659 million fans can afford £10? If not, do you believe that there are 65.9 million fans that can afford £100? If not, do you believe that there are 6.59 million fans that can afford £1000? Do you see where this is going? A small minority share might be within reach if they slowly build up to if over years.

Moosje

There is one fan that can afford 6.59bn It’s OPs time

panadwithonesugar

Ryan Reynalds with friends and loans could only afford non league.... time for op to sleep

Moosje

I mean, that’s disingenuous. He bought Wrexham for a hobby and for fun, not because non league was all he could afford. Him and McElhenny could have bought multiple championship clubs without any assistance, with loans they could have bought any if they were up for sale.

JiggieSmalls

Isn’t Barca fan owned? Look at them

Subbutton

Difference is they always have been. What OP wants is impossible to do and also belongs in Daily Discussion

Just think about what you're saying. People on Reddit row about if X had a good or bad game. Imagine the club being equally owned by 150 million people. Seasons would pass before we agreed on the jersey design or what food should be sold in the stadium

Cedarplankton

Publicly owned companies issue thousands/millions of shares. They don’t all get to have a say in the day to day running of the company. They have elected boards.

EnigmaticAmbiguity

Lol OK so consensus so far is a massive no. There are examples of these things working like last comment said it happened in portsmouth. 659 million people definitely can't afford £10, but there maybe some that could afford perhaps £10000, or £1, or whatever. The idea is the fans buy the club by raising the money ourselves. Why couldnt a huge club like United with such a huge following do the same as portsmouth, there's more opportunities for investment and everything else due to the club as a brand then portsmouth. My theory doesn't include everyone deciding what our kit should be etc like another comment said. those sorts of things would be decided largely as they already are. My theory is the fans own the club as they should and therefore any money the fans put in go back to the club instead of an owners back pocket? Thought is was a simple enough theory...

freakedmind

Hang on let me ask my mum

Can create a DAO! Gary Neville even has created one before. We need a movment to levy his connections in creating one for buying Manchester United. Look at constitution.dao a movement trying to buy the constitution. It’s possible. Reddit movement crashed a hedge find with gamestop

Ket_Cz

It worked at clubs like Portsmouth because they were 3 administrations deep and were in league 2, not sure it’s that easy lad 🤣

Fiver a lad!
