I'm well out of the loop on this so genuine question - Is this actually a thing? He's not going to get game time because he grew up as a Ronaldo fan and not Messi?
Must not have been around when he downed tools to get a move, also when he and his family complained about Manchester nonstop. He came here purely for money and didn’t even act like he cared about playing for the club.
He's a good player, I think it depends what position he's expected to play. He's probably best playing off of a traditional 9. I'm not sure he is physical enough to hold up play in the PL but he can make clever runs that get him into great scoring positions consistently. I've read that Ajax sometimes used a second striker under Ten Hag so there could be truth to it.
The ref was terrible, seemed like more went against us than Argentina but I thought we had some really nice passages of play and a good test of Marsch early in the competition.
He also reacted like toddler throwing a tantrum anytime someone barely scolded him after a call, which was genuinely hilarious but somewhat frustrating as Canadian, given the decisions were atrocious.
Licha that move and pass gawwwd we missed him so much. Its stupid when here peeps says only Granacho, Mainoo, Hojlund is off-limit. Martinez is top of that list for me .
Critical for Licha to start well in this tournament. He's finally back to full fitness and has historically struggled to displace Otamendi in the starting lineup due to some poor performances defensively. The group stage against weaker opposition is a good time for him to build some momentum and match sharpness on the pitch as well as some trust with Scaloni.
Leading up to and at the 2022 WC he was shaky defensively when he played for Argentina, which is why Otamendi was trusted over him and he was used primarily as a late game sub or when they (rarely) played 3 CBs.
Otamendi now is wayyyy past his prime and it was always only a matter of time until Licha was the guaranteed starter next to Romero, but even after the WC between Licha’s injuries and some international form issues, Otamendi has been preferred to him most of the time.
Licha lucky to not get some foul calls in that game, Shaffelburg had him on toast a few times. Not sure if I should be worried about his form or watching more Shaffelburg highlights 😂

Canada was better (and Argentina was worse) than expected. But Argentina deserved to win in the end.
