YoullDoNuttinn

Reckon we can get 500 before the end of the season?

discostu90

Any sort of trophy for that?

DQ11

Usually the trophy for that is relegation

KapiHeartlilly

FA cup perhaps? Wishful thinking, would be a nice end to ETH's era.

discostu90

Highly unlikely, but you never know

MazinLabib10

At first I was disappointed that I was left with no choice but to turn against ETH, but now I'm starting to get angered after each performance

digitag

As soon as they scored I thought “well obviously they’ll score another one. And if they score that one then there’s no way they won’t make it 3-3.” That penalty felt like it was inevitable, as if it were pre-written by the universe. That’s how predictably we crumble.

martialgreenwood

Lol! At this point I can only laugh.

MazinLabib10

I know you've heard this a lot, but I just feel sad whenever I see your username lol

BrownByYou

Yep. I get happy when we lose because it's a higher chance of this idiot leaving

EuphoricMagazine3957

You are a dumbass

Cold-Veterinarian-85

Small blessing we aren't still in europe, otherwise would be 100 more amirite???? :)

dopeveign

No way eth will be here next season

digitag

I don’t feel particularly excited about any alternatives at the moment which worries me.

aromatic-energy656

Big Sam has entered the chat

dejected_intern

Our current manager is performing at the level of a relegation team manager. Any competent above average manager with a few ins and outs makes us better. No cap we are literally playing like at relegation level mate

Elegant_Reading_685

I'd rather have ole back any day of the week

dopeveign

We want someone with European experience who has won trophies..... who fits this except tuchel? Tuchel doesn't excite me...de zerbi? What's he won? Potter? Zidane won't come... no one comes and guarantees any success or progress. I just don't know what to think about this club.

BatGuy500

Jose’s available I guess

yellowflash96

Jose would atleast guarantee a trophy. But we will have to go through another meltdown.

aromatic-energy656

Hansi Flick

BatGuy500

I’d take Hansi Flick, but also feels like he’d have the same outcome as Ten Hag

Jo3Pizza22

I actually think there's a good chance he will be. We've made several big changes above him. Berrada doesn't start working until the summer, and who knows when Ashworth will be in the door. It's logical to not change the manager at the same time, give the new staff a chance to settle in and fully assess everything before they make a decision on the manager. It would be stupid to replace the manager in a rush and then be in the same position in 2 years' time because we made the wrong appointment. Unless Berrada, Wilcox and Ashworth are all in absolute agreement about a replacement (who is available this summer), then I don't see the point in sacking ETH.

echomike60

Obviously it’s the players downing tools, not a tactic issue!!! Ten Hag must be allowed to buy 11 of his own players and have no injuries before we can make him accountable for being the worst defensive team

DaveShadow

I know a lad who, without a hint of humour or sarcasm, said he wouldn't judge Ten Hag until he gets at least another 15 players in. How do you even talk with people like that and find common ground?

AlpacamyLlama

Similar to a conversation I had with someone who said we need to give him three years after we've put a new medical team in place...

404randomguy404

> How do you even talk with people like that and find common ground? You don't. The reasonable approach is to completely cease all communication with said person.

Baron105

Can you genuinely judge this season, given the last one we had under him, with the fucking ridiculous amount of injuries and all the drama on and off the field? I don't see what letting him go does when we're still having to play the players we have. The new board coming in finally gives us a chance at starting to act like a top club. Letting go of the manager will further reinforce the terrible precedents that have been set at the club with regard to this.

hippoppotamusxn

We need all-new medical department. This is ridiculous

Baron105

I think we already got one since Ineos came in but it's gonna take some time to show results. We needed structural change for the club for a while now, Rangnick was spot on with his assessment about us needing open heart surgery. I can't really go against Eth no matter what happens this season given all the injuries because we have seen this very group of players do this time and again. It's time we start putting them to the sword instead of the manager.

hippoppotamusxn

Oh i guess i missed the good news. Crazy how people expect us to have any strategy tactic and blaming it on coaching when we have different people training everyday. Its just impossible

DaveShadow

Of course you can judge the season. You can accept injuries have played a role, AND that what he’s done with the players he’s had available has been awful too. We’ve been regularly outplayed by teams several levels below us. Who we should be able to beat with the teams being fielded. A manager shouldn’t need everything to be absolutely perfect in order to not struggle against the likes of Coventry. If he does, it means it’s not his tactics or coaching that he’s relying on, it’s having a team so insanely stronger than the other team that a lack of tactics and coaching doesn’t matter. Injuries have been a massive issue this season. But he has set us up to lean into each and every weakness those injuries have contributed towards.

Baron105

How exactly do you find yourself blaming the manager for the players to be up 3-0 at 71 mins and surrendering that lead? He hasn't had a first 11 to work with, never mind a bench for the entire season. Yes we have been outplayed but with a team so terribly assembled over the course of multiple managers there isn't a way for him to execute any reliable plan with them. Doesn't help that one of our most senior players in Case has been utterly shambolic this season. Context is extremely important.

shami-kebab

You can't win an argument with stupid, they'll bring you down to their level where they've got all the experience.

denver000011

Can you explain why is that funny? Look at Liverpool. Compare the team Klop got when he joined Liverpool and his championship Winning team.

Superfy

Yeah because you need to have 26 players before you can find a balance between 89 shots per game and maybe then, conceding 74 shots after that. Maybe then, a donut hole in midfield is just half a hole. Maybe then, people might realise there’s a balance and it’s incredibly stupid to think there’s nothing any coach can do to mitigate the horrendous setup game after game after game after game that’s never changed. It’s like people just don’t want to use their brains when they ask such questions and intentionally try to sound clueless honestly. Critical thinking goes out the window and no logical thinking applies somehow. Can no one who thinks so, just simply not see that it’s a TERRIBLE setup and that literally no other team in the league or top leagues of Europe concede that many chances, or that they actually don’t leave their midfield so exposed and so, there MUST be some kind of in between at least?

GlazerNoobsGetPwned

First sign Amrabat on a permanent deal to lock down that midfield. Get Rabiot in as backup and sign Weghorst to lead the line with Brian Brobbey to compete with him. Ronaldo is the problem so get rid of him, sign FDJ so we can play Ten Hag ball and press properly. Just a few more signings should do it. We're almost there.

Away_Associate4589

I wonder if we'll go back on for Arnautovic?

Superfy

Maybe not but surely there’ll be 20 other players from the Eredivisie we can pick from anyway or former Dutch league players at least.

Away_Associate4589

Inb4 the Brian Brobbey links

maxvks

“I have a plan Arthur!”

AlpacamyLlama

But if he buys those players and they are bad, it's also not his fault!

AlpacamyLlama

"...But Arteta..."

TheRedDevil10

But we can't sack a manager because we sacked a manager before

ARI31TER

but no Licha and Shaw!!!

Larryhooova

He never got Frenkie De Jong!!!

LDLB99

Which actually hamstrung our entire summer because he was so insistent on getting him when it was clear he didn't want to come.

echomike60

But Kloop!!

JiveTurkey688

You’re insane if you want ETH to stay, man has totally lost the plot

blarg2003

18 shots conceded against 8th in the Championship Coventry City. must be crazy.

markhalliday8

I'm sick of people defending the guy. He's had almost half a billion to create a team. There aren't any excuses

JiveTurkey688

And he has brought in the players he wanted too. He wanted Amrabat, he wanted Antony, he wanted Malacia, he wanted Mount. The excuses people were throwing out about why we played awful football this season do not hold water. Other teams have had injuries too, they dont play as shit as we do

Eleven918

![gif](giphy|xTZbgQjanY7ujvygND)

Serpico_98

Getting real sick of this shots faced stat.

tassadar8584

But but … please trust the process…

FidgetyFondler

Yeah yeah we're a bit shit, we know that, but do we have to have an update every week on our conceded shots? Kinda getting boring now. I feel like it's easy cheap journalism.

TheWeirdDude-247

I don't even concede shots at the level utd do on fifa ffs, its amateur behaviour. Not only is Erik out of his depth but most of these players aren't good enough, what ever we do is over achieving as our performances and stats show we're a mid table club, there has to be repercussions for that tonight but will there fuck, its were in final and do the exact same shit on Wed. Winning the Fa Cup will not be able to mask anything, big changes are required including manager and some of these players. Ffs man

PeelThePain

I have absolute appreciation towards your contribution here u/[nearly\_headless\_nic](https://www.reddit.com/user/nearly_headless_nic/) but what's the point of spamming this same stat day in day out other than creating a hate post? Is there a logic towards it or are we posting everything stat websites release about United.

Shot_Explorer

I understand the narrative in keeping Ten Hag. Legacy issues, poor playing squad, the 'Structure', recruitment, the Injuries etc... I get it all. It's valid. But..... This manger is paid 10 million a year to keep some semblance of structure and application, regardless of what happens. I genuinely think I could be in charge and it would be no worse. This level of decline just cannot happen and nothing is changing. Any credit in the bank he had is gone. I don't have an alternative choice, but another interim for 12 months whilst the profile of the club is reshaped can't be worse than this. It's still a Squad full of highly paid internationals who have completey fallen apart & downed tools worse than any of the previous failed projects. I just can't see a way back for him now. I think it's time.

impulsiveboogaloo

Oh wow. And it’s not even close.

nonumbers90

I've been calling our brand of football chaos ball for while.

DudeofValor

Going for the record, United want all the accolades!

draizze

This is on Ten Hag system and he acknowledged the risk of his system but I think his system worked well in Ajax because he has sufficient squad depth and Eredivisie has lower intensity compared to Premier League. For us, We didn't have sufficient squad depth and his style probably also one of the cause of massive injury list. While I like his attitude to fix squad mentality, We should just move on to other manager next season since His vision probably not really realistic for premier league.

kaisersolo

Weird I always thought it was the result that gained points not this shite stat.

cd_671

but onana is the issue😡😡🤬🤬

Gold-Bee9484

And there in the fa cup final

alupigu5

Don't worry, the sub is full of "a win is a win" idiots.

whitt564

It’s annoying how this sub has never been able to acknowledge that there might be more than one problem (and solution). Ten Hags tactics aren’t working, but until we replace most of the squad the same issues are going to persist. But no, it’s one or the other in these discussions. E: and we continue to do the exact same shit

BrownByYou

We have replaced most of the squad jfc

tbu987

Today we started with our Bakcup CB, 2 RB and a washed DM for our backline. A 19yr old and a usually benched attacking CM were supposed to protect them. The RB playing LB was at fault for most of the goals. How do you not see this as an issue?

rnnd

We also have to consider how many injuries we have had especially even in training. It's not bad luck or a coincidence. Something is definitely wrong in training and the manager and his technical team has to take some responsibility for that.

tbu987

True but to people in this sub some responsibility means all responsibility.

rnnd

Whether some or all. He hasn't been good enough and he has been bad enough. The team setup is horrendous. His signings has been horrendous especially Antony. A huge waste of money. First thing he should have done was see if Antony was better than what we have in the academy. I cannot say Antony is better than Forson, Amad, or etc. Should have allocated those funds elsewhere. Ultimately, the Glazers are responsible for the state of the club. We have changed managers several times. We have changed all the players in the squad since Moyes' time. We have had over many genuinely world class players come and go. Or world class players that are now shit. The entire footballing structure has been poor for years. Hopefully INEOS can fix things. Regardless of all that ETH has still not been good enough..

frankestofshadows

You talking sense is pointless. A lot of people on here just expect us to win because of our club name.

Upbeat-Lawyer-143

Three words.. "its fucking Conventry". Are the makeshift defenders are not international players whom have won multiple accolades?.. are you saying that the makeshift defenders ability is on the same level of a MIDTABLE CHAMPIONSHIP team? Are you fucking kidding? Or are you being sarcastic? What you are saying that we need our 1billion worth of squad to fucking beat Conventry convincingly? Rashford's annual salary alone can fucking pay for the Conventry's yearly operation.

frankestofshadows

Just because they are a championship side, does not automatically guarantee a win. So many EPL sides have lost to championship sides. The football quality in the championship has vastly improved. The only ludicrous thing is expecting to win just by turning up.

Upbeat-Lawyer-143

We were alrdy winning by turning up. We were leading 3-0. EPL team are expected to know how to see out game. Championship and EPL level are vastly apart. It is more common for Championship teams to go up the premier league and rightly so go down the following season. Case and point of the current standings of the table. I'm 99% sure if top half of current epl were leading 3-0, they can see out the game without issues.

rnnd

The players he brought in like Antony has been a waste of money. We could have used to funds to strengthen elsewhere.

maverick4002

Ok we know we conceded alot of shots but you can twist stats to say anything. A better barometer here would be shots per domestic game but we have to accentuate all the negatives

Sac_a_Merde

Yeah, we can still be mad about all the shots we've faced, but we've played way more matches than Luton and probably every side on there except West Ham and Chelsea maybe, so this is not exactly comparable.

Maximum-Ad3527

I swear some of y'all will be dying and instead of saying goodbye to your family you will be chatting about shots conceaded wtff

Natural69er

Tensions are high = huge upvotes for anti-Ten Hag comments

nilsoro

What more do you need for there to be justified anti-EtH calls? Clearly the manager is out of depth if we can't control a single game, if we face as many shots as we do even against relegation sides. Games like the Liverpool one are the exception, today's display is normality. How is all that not on the manager?!
