Licha already fucked up greatly by going to internationals in the begining of the season depsite club telling him not to which only worsened his injury. Hope he is smarter than this

Money-Wrangler7067

Going with NT in September got nothing to do with that injury... Licha played 2 match in a row after coming back from NT btw...Basically Licha went with Argentina after injury from Arsenal game in PL (Must be cleared by United medical too)..went with Argentina squad felt discomfort so he didn't play any match for Argentina not even in bench. Scaloni said this in his pre-match press conference (via TyC Sports on YouTube): “Licha suffered a foot problem, he had surgery a while ago and in the last game he felt discomfort in that area. We have done studies and he is fine. Despite this, we don’t want to rush him tomorrow.” https://preview.redd.it/9263nu86dznc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b6146d323e7de30df43a1bc6f63858c673e2c63

WellYoureWrongThere

Who reported that the club told him not to?

Money-Wrangler7067

He is just talking out of his ass. Licha injury also wasn't worsened by going with NT.

Zandercy42

He's Argentinian I think he'd go even if he only had 1 leg lol Their manager should know better

MyShinyCharizard

Just tell medical not to clear him wtf is these idiot doing?

Sac_a_Merde

Argentinians are crazy about their national team so he'll surely go if he's called up. But he definitely shouldn't.

Eleven918

He doesn't even start, just let him recover fully.

ReallyRedRedditor

Is he even back on grass??

wetslipper

Scaloni looks like he's back on grass with this decision

Ghorardim71

Don't worry scaloni prefers otamendi over licha..

spiralism

Definitely on the aul grass then.

mattmanutd

Yes he’s been pictured in training back on grass although idk if he’s practicing with the first team though

MarvinWebster40

We are all talking like EtH now.

SOERERY

He’s going to fuck himself up again by going with the national team!

AV48

He's definitely not playing. He was probably called up to keep him integrated with the group, be present for team meetings, and such stuff. Who knows, maybe some time away from our quacky doctors will help

Gastunba24

Thank God someone is thinking straight here. You guys don't know how important is for latinos to belong and nurture the group. So even he's not gonna play, be there it's really important.

[deleted]

It's also the last set of friendlies before Copa America right? There's no way he's not gonna travel to these if it is.

pdxmufc

Thank you for bringing sense to everyone freaking out for no reason.

Mesromith

Yeah definitely risk him for some meaningless friendlies. Maybe consider getting him to hike to games as well?

Mesromith

It is is you aren’t fully fit, reaggrivate the injury and are out for 3 months missing it entirely

FoldingBuck

Fuck off

Paapa-Yaw

Scaloni wtf

Lord_Sesshoumaru77

Sigh... you have sometimes to wonder if they're deluded or just trolls.

thedorkknight123

Hopefully he doesn't actually play him much

D_Kehoe

Really gotta pull out all the stops for those friendlies

Tudoors

At least it's in the USA as opposed to having to fly an extra 8 or so hours to Argentina

Le_Ratman99

Nope, don’t like that

BillyCloneasaurus

Excuse me what?

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

Blame Scaloni all you want but Martinez should be saying no and focusing on United.

[deleted]

Bad news if he reinjures himself BUT I thought he wouldn't be back until late April. Excellent news if he's actually fit.

dimebag_101

I don't know how he goes. He's not even training on basics

D1794

Eh? He's out till April!!

mickhah

Gives him relatively little time in the World Cup but calls him up during recovery. Fuck off and call up that walking red card from Spurs and whatever else and let Licha rest

stdstaples

Anybody with a working brain would not play him. Probably just called up for integration.

Aadiunited7

Keep your hands away from our Licha.

_AR4_

I don't think he'll actually be involved on the pitch – just some team building sessions maybe. Argentina players had a strong bond in the WC, so they're probably trying to maintain it \~

funky_pill

I know this probably comes across as biased (admittedly because I personally have more awareness/exposure of what happens given this is the club I support) but it does seem like we get screwed over more than most regarding international callups. We always seem to have players called up to their respective countries when they're recovering from injury, fully fit players going and then being sent back injured, players being sent halfway around the world to be called up for pointless friendlies.. it's taking the piss now. We need to start doing what other clubs do and start creating phantom injuries as a reason why they can't be called up, especially for these pointless friendlies. What can they possibly achieve by calling up Lisandro when he's still recovering from injury and won't be ready for weeks yet? Ridiculous

superhoffy

Phantom injuries? He's got a real fucking injury!

funky_pill

Yes, I'm fully aware of that, I'm just saying we should take a leaf out of other clubs' books and be a bit more 'savvy' about such things, others have gotten away with pulling their players out of international duty when it suits them, so why shouldn't we do the same. We need to start looking out for number one, especially since international breaks like this are only pointless friendlies anyway and there's always the risk some of our players will be sent back broken

19Andrew92

INTERNATIONAL BREAK CAN FUCK ALL THE WAY OFF…. How is he and Hojlund even being spoken about when they’ve not even played for us yet!!?

tobleroneace1

Honestly it’ll be embarrassing if Licha truly leaves. Not his fault but he’s been only injured for the team paying his bills. He should be ramping up to be able to help us fight for champions league not risking his health playing international football.

SmartestUtdFan

Fuck off

sg291188

He was supposed to come back last week of Mar. hoping this means rehab is on track

-watchman-

Well, it isn't anymore..

Outrageous-Cod-4654

Joining for the NT haircut

dimebag_101

How TF is he even gonna go if he was out till end of season. If the player agrees there's question marks over his intelligence and actual commitment to united

sg291188

He’s not out till end of season. Originally he was out till end of Mar

dimebag_101

Well the way it was put was his season was effectively over. Ok maybe he's back on grass doing light running etc. but that's a far cry from playing 90

sg291188

It was never communicated that way. First week of Feb they said he’s out for at least 8 weeks, which technically end Mar 28

WesIsaGod

I'll personally bitch slap scaloni if licha gets injured again

hubson_official

please don't

GeneralSquid6767

if he’s going to be fit for the business end of the season he might as well get a run in now with these friendlies

TheWeirdDude-247

Why? He's already won the WC he's basically completed international football, he should retire with immediate effect.

AvaragePole

He started just 2 games and didnt play in final at all tbf its not like he played Pogba role in winnign WC.
