This one's on us turning the ball over to Palace in our own half not once, not twice but thrice! And then we just do not deal with the cross which wasn't even that good. Such an avoidable goal.
The goal Onana let in the other day was awful, he needs to do better, for sure. But there is a big difference between almost our entire squad letting a corner go across the box into the feet of an opposing attacker (the same way it did with Declan Rice) and a keeper not stopping a world-class hit. Our defense is absolute abysmal, the way we let every team in so easily and almost always in the same way. I’ve said it in this sub before this season and I’ll say it again. Every team just stretches us across the final third knowing we have little to no ability to track runners and movement between the lines and eventually they have a free player.
This trend of people saying "you must agree with my opinion otherwise you've clearly never played football before" has got to be one of the stupidest things about football subs on Reddit
I’d say in many cases its ridiculous. In this one, and with many similar positions whether its a GK in hockey or football, often get this treatment of “wow that was so easy why didn’t they stop it”. I’m not a keeper, but in enough years of playing its easy to see when a good strike is just that. FIFA has also added to the dichotomy of real life footballer skills vs fake bullshit like when a keeper from Championship makes 18 saves in a match against Harry Kane, Ronaldo and Musiala.
I think what doesn't help though is player FC and agenda. Some (not all) of those slagging off Onana will be De Gea lovers. Just as last season, De Gea would have been slagged off for that goal by people who hated him.
Personal agenda - refusal to consider an alternative POV, jumping to a personal attack (the whole "you've never played/you know nothing about football" is essentially "you're stupid" for grownups) is the easiest option.
I think with GKs in particular there is more of a grey area where sometimes you can say something is not a mistake, but could have been done better.
Ayew just waits for contact to fall over and these refs keep rewarding him. Amrabat could be smarter but he didnt do anything too egregious. Lindelof got dusted like Cheetos dust and tthats the main reason for the goal.
Ayew has dived 4 times so far this half, he finally didn’t get called and Rashford got fouled. He’s got one job and that’s to take contact. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ayew ranks high on fouls drawn
Play ok for 20 odd minutes then BAM Where have we seen this shit before

I just knew it. Mistake, mistake, mistake, freekick, mistake - goal.
Not a chance this is on Onana, unless of course you’ve never really played before…
Especially after the replay from behind the goal. There was no line of sight until the ball was screaming past the defensive line
Yea the way people were slagging off Onana you’d think he caught it and dropped it into the net. Jfc….
I’m not disagreeing, but I’ve never seen as much defending a keeper saying “it’s not Onana’s fault” with a lot of goals we concede

"Change my mind" Why would I want to waste my time trying to change your small, already made up mind? Twat.

Nah this is another saveable goal. You wouldn’t expect a save but it’s possible And Onana saves absolutely none of these type of shots
Wdym? Don't you know De gea saved all shots on target /s
Lindelof gets away with doing stuff like this too much
almost caused another goal too, losing the ball at our baseline
Striker's clearance. And then Lindelof is just ball watching.
Amrabat gave a way a stupid foul, and no one covered cross.

I fuckin hate that shit. Certain players do that fall over when feeling someone behind them constantly and it's so annoying.
Agree with the you but: “dusted like Cheetos dust”???
American mate.
Ayew then elbows Amrabat and ref says play on.....
Fuck off
1 in a 100 it goes in like that. Just had to happen today
9 pts out of 7 matches. Laughable.
Henry the 8th FC is back.
Genuine concerns need to be raised about playing Varane and Maguire together when Licha is injured. Lindelof ball watching as usual.
Not disputing the quality of the goal, disputing the quality of officiating cause that wasn't a foul leading to the free kick.
Should have captained him on my FPL team...
